These people were considered "fools" and invitations to non-existent parties and other practical jokes were played on them. "All Fools‘ Day" is practiced in many parts of the world with practical jokes and sending people on a fool‘s errand.

Another thought is that the origin began with the celebrations of the Spring Equinox. While some believe it has to do the a Roman festival known as Hilaria, the end of the Celtic new year.

In Scotland, April Fools Day lasts 48 hours, day two is know as Taily Day and pranks involving the posterior are played. The victim of the practical joke is referred to as "hunting the gowk"; the gowk is an extinct cuckoo bird.

In France, he is the "poisson d‘Avril" or "fish of April." The fish in April are newly hatched and easily caught. French children enjoy taping a picture of a fish on their friends back and yelling out "Poisson dAvril!" when it is found.

Da de los Santos Inocentes is held in Spain on December 28th. This is The Feast of the Holy Innocents. It‘s celebrated similarly to April Fools‘ Day with practical jokes.

In the United States, pranks are played on just about everybody. Pranks range from the standard "Your shoe is untied", to some very creative and elaborate ideas. The only "rule" is that no one should be harmed. The best jokes are when everybody including the victim laughs.

It is known to all that today the environment has been badly polluted.

Though many action have been taken to protect our environment, it still has a

long way to go. Two years ago, I went to middle school, and the first moment I

saw the environment, I found that trees were very small, and many workers were

busy planting trees. Now, when I looked around our school, the trees were taller

than people and they grew so fast. People always talk about planting trees but

less of them can take action. If they plant trees immediately, then there would

be more green scenery. Protecting the environment is not just words. We should

take action right now.

jinmao building has chinese traditional styles and it is also modern. it is the signal construction of shanghai. it is located in the center of lujiazui financial area. our family visited jinmao building today.

the traffic there is very convenient. you can got here by tunnel and no.2 subway. and if you live near it, you can walk there just like our family. we went to the eighty-eighth floor of jinmao building. we saw the whole view of shanghai there. please come to jinmao building, and you will get some unexpected gains there.

星移斗转，岁月如梭，十四度花落花开，14年的成长经历如电影镜头匆匆闪过，在人生的海滩上，我的前进步伐还算平稳。

“叮铃铃——”晚自习最后一节课的铃声终于响起，我们都快步跑回寝室，争取更多洗漱时间。

10：10又一次响起了睡觉的铃声，外面的灯熄了，但这个属于我们初三学生的寝室中的灯还依旧亮着。郭同学拿着手中的雅思教材，一边听听力，一边做着练习题，偶尔从嘴中蹦出几个单词。有时她拿笔的手托着腮，张大的眼眶里，晶亮的眸子缓慢游动着。笔尖沙沙响，就像一段轻快美妙的旋律。下铺的马同学拿着b卷必刷，右手的笔不停的在那繁杂的几何图形中标着条件。看着眼前的题目，她微微的皱起了浓黑的双眉，深邃而锐利的双眸，缓缓的游走在题目之间。随后似乎是有些犹豫，原本抬起的金色钢笔再次缓缓的放了下去。就这样不知过了多久，等她一次又一次的擦掉铅笔的痕迹，一次又一次的再次尝试着画不同的辅助线之后，随着嘴角一丝微微的上扬，竟然露出了一个好看的弧度。片刻后她舔了舔有些发干的下唇，抬起右臂龙飞凤舞，清晰的答题过程跃然纸上。而我下铺的张同学便是在草稿纸上经历着一遍又一遍的演算过程，“解：设某数为x，代入得”不久，一张空白的草稿纸上，便到处都是圈圈点点的痕迹。

寝室里寂静犹如春晨的西湖，没有一丝嘈杂的声音，我们在自己的床位上埋头苦读，认真的一次一次的看着自己手中的书本，时而表情严肃，时而疑惑不解，寝室中只有笔尖在纸面划过时，摩擦发出的沙沙声。那种静寂的气息就像被春风吹拂般轻柔而蕴含生机。

不知不觉10：35了，时间就这样在一片寂静中溜走了。夜里的鸟儿早已不叫了，其实有时写着写着眼皮就支撑不住了的我们，即使我们正在纠结于ab之间，即使穿过眼前的方程是二次函数，是那样的复杂，但我们也仍然在最后的几分钟里为了解出一道题，而依旧用笔杆子机械的画上几画。草稿纸就这样一页页的用完，笔芯也就这样一直这个换掉，我们的每个夜晚也都这样寂静却又澎湃。

“晚安，各位！”互道晚安后，我们便关上了灯，各自躺了下去。

外面，花瓣幽幽绽放，露出浅黄羞涩的花蕊，在绽放的声音中完美着一个生命。于是我便常常脱离实际的幻想着花开，想象着自己在次次考试中过关斩将，所向披靡，想象着自己在体育考试中轻而易举拿下满分，想象着自己在未来工作中力求上进出类拔萃。当然我也知道这仅仅是幻想是一个美丽的梦。

蓦然间我突然明白了花谢的原因，因为她在等待第2个春天，这是一种充满执着，锲而不舍的等待，这个已经到来的初三也是如此。

我翻转过身子，抬起头来，用双手撑住下巴，望着我所向往的外面的世界，突然发现这城市里是没有黑夜的车辆的喧哗和路灯，彩色耀眼的霓虹灯，把关于黑夜的回忆遗忘在了狂奔不止的时光里。抬起头天上的月亮大致只有圆满时的一半，暗淡的光辉和地面上霓虹灯散发出的光遥相呼应，互诉着天上宫阙的寂寞和人世间的繁华，暗淡的月光把天幕也衬托得灰蒙蒙的，想起在《意林》上读到的一句话，人的状态有4种：忙，很忙，非常忙，不慌不忙。每个人应该都希望自己可以是不慌不忙的那种，可我想那只是我们课间休息的短暂时光，平时我们都在忙着。

夜更深了，天空布满了一块块形状不规则的青白色的小鱼块，像是碎裂开来似的，每一个云块周围都闪着点点蓝色，显得格外好看而深远，又带着某种不可名状的神秘。各种颜色的灯光映入水中，波光粼粼的水面上都带上了散开的光晕，璀璨的彩色光华变化反复，异彩纷呈，水中楼房的轮廓仍然没有爱上的清晰，却是摇身一变，成了一个童话世界里美丽的宫殿，真希望人生也是这样美好。遥望远方那川流不息的车流和那亮了一整宿的路灯，好像都在告诉着我，有一种奋斗叫初三。

Dear Sir,

I was very interested in your advertisement in todays edition of The Evening Post and I should like to apply to be a member of the Amazon Expedition team.

I am twenty-three years old and have an honors degree in Botany from Bath University. Since leaving university I have been working in a research laboratory but my contract comes to an end in six weeks. I would particularly like to join the expedition for the opportunity it would give me to study the plant life of the area.

I enjoy several outdoor activities including rowing and rock climbing and I consider myself to be both fit and healthy enough to undertake such an expedition.

If you would like me to attend an interview, I would be able to come at any time convenient to you, (J1) my employers have agreed to give me time off for the purpose.

Tomorrow is March 8th. It is Womens Day, so I want to give my mother a surprise. First I am going to the supermarket and buy something , such as vegetables , fruits and some beautiful flowers. Then I will come back home to clean the house and do some cooking. When Mum comes back from work, she will be really excited. She will say that I am a nice boy and have grown up. I will be happy, too. I think Ill help my mother more in the future.
