During the summer holiday, I spent much time in reading. I finished one of the four masterpieces ofChina, Journey to the West. It’s really an interesting book, telling many adventurous stories. 实际上虚荣心是与生俱来的,但是孩子的心是单纯的,随着长大虚荣心也会越来越深。读了童话后，我想提醒人们：保持一颗真诚的心，不要为了虚荣放弃那颗真诚的心。想想自己其实也这样，看见别人拿出很贵的溜溜球玩真羡慕，怕爸爸妈妈不同意买，只能看着人家玩，可真正买了又觉得别人的更好，总觉得永慈利远满足不了自己的虚荣心。当我读完文章后，我明白了虚荣心是永远不可能满足的，要学会控制自己的虚荣心，亡羊补牢为时未晚，从今天起我要做一个知足的人。今天，我玏玏读了一个故事，故事的名字叫乌鸦喝水。这个故事讲的是一只乌鸦口渴了，到处找水喝，突然它看见一个瓶子里面有水。乌鸦就飞到瓶子旁边，把嘴伸到瓶子里边喝水，结果没有喝到水，因为瓶子里的水太浅了，它想呀想，想呀想，终于想出了一个好办法。它抓起一把石子放到瓶子里，水升高了，乌鸦再次把嘴伸到瓶子里，结果喝到水了。

大人在工作中也要像乌鸦一样肯动脑筋，用小时候学过的各种知识和方法去解决遇到的困难，而要想以后独立地解决工作中遇到的困难和挫折，我们现在就必须好好学习，不要灰心不慈利要偷懒，认认真真扎扎实实地学好各种知识和技能，为自己储备知识的能量，以应对和解决今后生活和工作中的各种困难。

这个故事虽然很小，但它给我的启示却很大。孩子在日常学习生活中经常会遇到属于他们这个年龄的困难，有的孩子不怕困难，积极想办法。可也有的孩子只愿意做以前做过的事情，面对新的问题，他们没有足够的信心，不愿意去开动脑筋，以至于轻易地寻求大人助。

我们做家长的，遇到这种情况，不能代替孩子做，要鼓励孩子，给孩子勇气和力量，通过开动脑筋去完成。这样，才有利于孩子的成长，为以后的成功打下坚实的基础

第3篇：《皇帝的新装》读后感

《皇帝的新装》是著名的丹麦作家安徒生写的童话，他一生共写了160余篇童话，代表作有《丑小鸭》、《小克劳斯和大克劳斯》、《夜莺》、《卖火柴的小女孩》、《海的女儿》等。在很多作品中，作者揭露了当时社会的黑暗和金钱支配一切的罪恶，讽刺了统治阶级的专横愚昧，反映贫富悬殊，同情下层人民的苦难。不仅孩子们爱看，甚至总有一些大人也对安徒生童话爱不释手!

《皇帝的新装》这个有趣的童话描绘了这样一个故事：有一个皇帝特别爱穿新衣，两个骗子说他们能织出神奇的衣服，能看出谁聪明，谁愚蠢。皇帝赏了他们很多金银财宝让他们为自己织新衣服。于是，两个骗子就空着手，装模作样地织起来。直到游行那天，皇帝穿着根本就不存在的新衣服神气活现地在街上走着，每一个人都称赞他，没有人敢说他光着身子，只有个小孩儿说了实话，皇帝这才知道受了骗。

当我读完这则童话后，不由得对那两个骗子的贪婪、不劳而获而憎恨;对皇帝的爱慕虚荣、愚昧以至于被骗子耍弄而叹息。 原来我只是在耻笑皇宫大臣的愚昧蠢笨，而这一次在演课本剧的过程中，老师提出这样一个问题：如果当时你在场，你会揭穿谎言吗?我想大多数人都会像那些大臣那样，称赞那根本就不存在的新衣服。说会的人，大多是以正义为主。说不会的人，一般是为了迎合皇上，阿谀奉承。

“如果当时你也在场，你会揭穿谎言吗。”这真是个令人深思的问题。皇宫大臣的愚昧;百姓们的随波竹流;孩子的天真无邪。在现在社会上，这种人多得不得了。你能说他们不聪明吗?不，他们很聪明。他们比平常人聪明得好几十倍!可是，他们就是不肯用自己的聪明去工作，而是喜欢耍小聪明，到头来还是害了自己。

读完这篇童话,我情不自禁地问自己,作为一国之君,为什么这个国王竟会被欺骗了这么久呢?毫无疑问，这都是因为这个国王的虚荣心。为了这所谓的虚荣心，全天下的百姓、臣子乃至国王都心甘情愿地被别人骗。他们心甘情愿地被别人骗，也心安理得地骗别人。童话中的那两个骗子之所以能得逞，是因为他们看到了人们心中的一个盲点——自愿将自己这一致命弱点暴露给别人，并且让他们加以利用，也要得到虚荣的满足。

Pinkneys descriptive passages resonate with the splendor of natures beauty. The glowing watercolors, filled with intricate details, make each blade of grass visible, and the delicately drawn, nearly transparent mosquitoes are as ethereal as they are in life. The subtle details incorporated into the scenes--a frog catching a passing fly at the pond and a tiny mouse perched by a crate in the old womans cottage--make children take another look.

One day he heard a sound of whirring wings, and up in the air he saw a flock of birds flying high. They were as bright as the snow that had fallen during the night, and their long necks were stretched southward. Oh, if only he could go with them! But what sort of companion could he be to those beautiful beings?

I am too ugly even for a dog to eat, the duckling thought. Jerry Pinkneys poignant text and rich artwork convey the timeless appeal of this tale of hardship and redemption. Anyone who has suffered the sting of ostracism can sympathize with the ugly ducklings plight and will relish the uplifting conclusion.

从前,在遥远的南方,有一个国王。

这个国王有十一个儿子，还有一个女儿叫爱莉莎。

王子们用钻石笔在金板上写字，玩玩具......快快活活地玩耍。

小公主爱莉莎有许多无比精美的国画书,她最喜欢看这些书了。

孩子们过着非常幸福的日子。

可是,这样幸福的日子没能持续很久。

孩子们的妈妈去世了,国王又娶了个新王后。

新王后心肠狠毒。

婚礼那天,她在杯子里放进沙子代替甜点，递给孩子们，并对他们说："听着,你们要做出很好吃的样子来。"

不久，王后把小爱莉莎赶出家门,送到了一个贫苦的农家。后来，她又对王子们说："都给我变成又难看又不会叫的鸟,飞得远远的去吧。"

王子们虽说是变成了鸟,然而变成的却是美丽的天鹅。

恶毒的王后见到美丽的爱莉莎，恨得咬牙切齿，就在浴池里放进三只癞蛤蟆,对它们说:"喂,你们爬到爱莉莎身上去,让她变成一个丑姑娘。"

可是,艾爱莉莎一进浴池,癞蛤蟆立刻就变成了红色的罂粟花。

对于爱莉莎那颗善良的心,什么魔法都不管用。

"太可恶了!"

王后气得浑身发抖。

于是王后把黑乎乎的核桃汁涂到爱莉莎身上,又在她脸上抹上臭气扑鼻的药膏,还把她的头发弄得乱蓬蓬的。

这一下,谁也认不出爱莉莎来了。

连国王都说:"这不是我的女儿。"

可怜的爱莉莎哭着逃出了城堡。她穿过原野,越过沼泽,走进了大森林。

不一会儿,太阳落山了,爱莉莎迷了路。

爱莉莎找到一片松软的青苔地躺了下来,把头枕在树桩上。

森林里静悄悄的,充溢着柔和的气息。

周围,数不清的萤火虫像绿色的火焰一样闪烁着。

爱莉莎睡着了。

睡梦中,她看见哥哥们像在过去那些幸福日子里一样,用钻石笔在金板上写字。

同时爱莉莎也在读一本美丽的图画书。

这本图画书就像有生命的一样。

书一打开,就有小鸟飞出来,欢快地唱歌。

爱莉莎打算去找她那些哥哥。

森林里只听得见爱莉莎脚踏在草上的沙沙声。

周围一只飞鸟也没有了,渐渐地,光也暗下去了。

爱莉莎被密密层层的树围住,吓得呆立在那里。

只有她一个人。

多么孤寂凄凉啊。

那天晚上没有月亮,夜黑极了。

一只萤火虫也没有。

到了早上,爱莉莎又继续往前走。

走了一会儿,从对面来了一个老奶奶。

老奶奶看见爱莉莎,从篮子里拿出些木莓果给她。

"嗯......在这个森林里您有没有看见过十一个王子?"爱莉莎问。

"哎呀......没有。不过在小河边我倒是看见过十一只头戴王冠的天鹅。"

老奶奶说着,把爱莉莎带到能看见小河的悬崖上。

爱莉莎告别了老奶奶,沿着小河往前走。

不一会儿,听到了波涛的声音,眼前出现了辽阔的大海。

美丽的海。海滩上有许多圆圆的石子。

爱莉莎想:"波浪比我的手还柔软,可是在它不停地冲刷下,连坚硬的石头也变圆了。只要不灰心,我也一定会找到哥哥们的。"

海滩上有十一根天鹅的羽毛。

爱莉莎捡起羽毛, 把它们像花束一样扎在一起。

夕阳西下的时候,十一只戴着王冠的天鹅从对面天空飞来。

这些天鹅落到爱莉莎身边,拍打着宽大的白翅膀。

不一会儿,当太阳完全沉到水下消失以后,天鹅身上的羽毛就纷纷脱落了,海滩上立着十一位王子。 "啊,哥哥!"爱莉莎喊着跑过去。

"哦,爱莉莎!"哥哥们也立刻认出了爱莉莎。

"爱莉莎,你长大了,变漂亮啦!"

大家都高兴极了。

最年长的王子说:"当太阳出来的时候，我们变成天鹅在空中飞,等到太阳落下,我们就又恢复人的模样。所以一到傍晚,我们就要警觉地寻找落脚的地方。要是飞在空中时变成了人,就会掉到海里去了。我们住在离这儿很远很远的地方,去那儿要在海上飞两天两夜。途中只有一块勉强能挤在一起休息的小礁石。不过,一年里头只有十一天我们被允许飞回这里的故乡。回到这里我们远远地眺望爸爸的城堡和葬着***那座教堂的尖塔。在这儿有无数童年时代快乐的记忆,所以无论多远我们都要飞回来。这次回来,能见到你,这是多么幸运啊。但是,两天以后,我们就又要飞回海那边去了。不过我们不能把爱莉莎一个人留在这里......怎么办才好呢?"

爱莉莎也说:"我也想救你们呀。怎么办好呢?"

早上,爱莉莎被一阵翅膀拍打声唤醒了。

哥哥们已经变成了天鹅,飞向空中。

他们先是在爱莉莎头顶上盘旋了一会儿,然后向远处飞去。

不过,最小的王子留下来,把头枕在爱莉莎的膝上,陪她一起度过一整天。

太阳一落下去,其他的天鹅就都飞回来,恢复成王子的模样。

"明天我们就必须离开这儿了。爱莉莎，你有勇气跟我们一起去吗?我们大家齐心合力,没准儿能带你越过海去。"最年大的王子说。

"太好了......把我带上吧。"爱莉莎请求哥哥们说。

那一夜,他们大家一起用柳树皮和灯心草编了一张席子。

爱莉莎在席子上睡着了。

当睁开眼睛的时候,爱莉莎发现自己在天上。

哥哥们用嘴着席子角,带着她在飞。

由于带着爱莉莎,他们不能飞得像平时那样快。

如果太阳落下,哥哥们恢复了人形,那可不得了。

就会掉到海里去的。

大家使出浑身的力气拼命向前飞。

天空变得昏暗起来。

狂风吹来,闪电划过。

暴风雨来临了。

太阳就要落下海面了。

"啊!不好,我们要摔下去了。"爱莉莎想,就在这时,她的脚触到了坚硬的岩石。

就在这个时候,太阳射出最后一道光,消失了。

当爱莉莎缓过神来时,看见已经恢复了人形的哥哥们正围着她，站在一块小小的岩石上。

暴风雨来了。

雷声隆隆，像山一样高的波浪咆哮着涌来。

可是王子们和爱莉莎紧紧地手挽着手站在一起。

第二天早上,天晴了,风也住了。

太阳刚一升起,天鹅们就带着爱莉莎起飞了。

海上仍然波涛汹涌。

太阳升得更高了。爱莉莎眼前出现了几座飘浮在半空中的山,还有雄伟的城堡。

"那是我们要去的地方吗?"爱莉莎问。

天鹅们默默地摇了摇头。

就在哥哥们这样回答爱莉莎的时候,那些山和城堡像塌下去一样,消失得无影无踪了。

那不过是浮在空中的海市蜃楼而已。

不一会儿,他们看见了真正的陆地。

还看见了集镇、城堡和美丽的山。

日落之前，天鹅们和爱莉莎在一个被美丽的青藤遮掩着的山洞前降落下来。

最小的王子对爱莉莎说:"爱莉莎,在这儿做个好梦吧。晚安。"

爱莉莎回答说:"我好想梦见解救你们的办法啊。"

睡梦中,爱莉莎来到白天看见的那座海市蜃楼中的城堡里。

一位美丽的仙女出来迎接她。

仙女样子很像森林中给她木莓果的老奶奶。

"如果有勇气,你是可以解救你那些哥哥的。只要你能长期忍受痛苦，你也能像波浪那样经过长时间把坚硬的石头冲圆的。

"在你住的山洞和教堂墓地长着一种荨麻附近，必须是这两个地方长着的荨麻。它们会火辣辣地刺痛你的手，可是你必须忍着疼痛把它们采来,用脚踩烂,再搓成线,用它们织成十一件长袖上衣。上衣织好以后，给十一只天鹅披上。

"这样，魔法就会解除了。

"但是你必须记住,在织完这十一件上衣以前,你绝对不能开口说话。要是违背了这一条，那么从你嘴里说出的话就会变成刀子，刺破你哥哥们的心脏。"

爱莉莎睁开眼睛。

洞外天已经亮了。

爱莉莎立刻出去采来荨麻,用脚踩烂,搓成绿色的线。

荨麻上的刺儿很尖，爱莉莎的手指像被烧伤了一样,起了很多水泡。

太阳落山以后，王子们回来了。

他们见爱莉莎不说话，以为是恶毒的王后又施了新的魔法。但是他们看到爱莉莎的手时候, 于是明白了爱莉莎是为了他们在吃苦。

最小的哥哥哭了。

他的眼泪滴到爱莉莎的手上。伤口，滴上眼泪不疼了,水泡也消失了。

爱莉莎夜晚也不停手。

为了解救哥哥,她拼命地织呀织。

第二天,她已经开始织第二件了。

突然,山里响起了嘹亮的号角声,还夹杂着狗叫声。

爱莉莎惊慌地抱起荨麻,躲到洞的深处。

狗一只接一只从草丛里蹿出来。

跟着来了好多猎人,把洞口团团围住。

他们之中有一个人仪表堂堂,他是这个国家的国王。

"你是从那儿来的?"国王问爱莉莎。

但是爱莉莎不能张口说话。

她默默地把满是水泡的手藏到围裙下。

"请和我一起回城堡去吧。假如你的心也和你的容貌一样美丽，我就让你穿上丝绸的衣服,给你戴上金色的王冠。"

虽然国王的话是那样亲切,可是爱莉莎听了只是一个劲儿地哭。

国王把爱莉莎带到了城堡里。

侍女们给爱莉莎穿上紫色的丝绸衣服,在她的头发上别上珍珠,还给她那肿胀的手戴上了柔软的手套。

爱莉莎变得惊人的美丽。 国王说:"请做我的王后吧。"

这时候,大主教走到国王身旁低声说:"这姑娘是女巫,她用魔法迷住了陛下的心,您要提防她呀。"

国王听了却毫不在意。

他吩咐马上举办庆祝会。

欢快的音乐奏起来了,美味的食品摆上来了。

但是爱莉莎脸上没有一丝快乐。

国王把爱莉莎带到一个和她以前的山洞一模一样的小房间里。

这是国王为了安慰爱莉莎特意替她安排的。

那儿放着爱莉莎织好的上衣和用荨麻搓成的线。

多么令人高兴啊!

爱莉莎脸上第一次露出了笑容。

于是,她吻了国王的手。

爱莉莎终于同意嫁给国王。

结婚典礼非常盛大。

爱莉莎虽然不开口,但是她的眼里却充满对国王的爱。

一到夜里,爱莉莎就在小屋里一件一件不停地织着上衣。

可是,当织到第七件时,线用完了。

必须要出去采集长在教会墓地的荨麻。

爱莉莎溜出城堡,借着月光,经过一条条荒凉的小路,向墓地走去。

墓地中,一群女巫正在刨坟。

当爱莉莎从旁边走过时,女巫们用可怕的眼睛瞪着她。

爱莉莎赶紧采了荨麻,急急忙忙地回城堡去了。

有一个人一直在紧紧地盯着爱莉莎。他就是那个大主教。

大主教对国王告状说:"爱莉莎果然是女巫。"

"爱莉莎不是女巫。"国王反驳说。

不过,他心里也不能排除爱莉莎没准儿是女巫的想法。

国王开始跟踪爱莉莎。

爱莉莎每天晚上都要到那间小屋里去。

渐渐地国王对爱莉莎产生了怀疑。

爱莉莎感觉出国王感情的变化,伤心得不得了。

但是，她不能对国王说明原因。

上衣还差一件就全部织完了。

偏偏这个时候线又没有了。

必须再去一次墓地。

爱莉莎悄悄地溜出了城堡。

这一回国王和大主教偷偷地跟在爱莉莎后边。

这天晚上女巫们又在墓地里刨坟。

国王一见, 认定爱莉莎也是女巫。

很快进行了审判。

爱莉莎被宣告处以火刑,投进牢房。

寒风从栅栏窗嗖嗖地刮进来。

一堆荨麻线和爱莉莎织好的上衣被扔进牢房，代替了往日的丝绸被子。

爱莉莎立刻拿过线，动手织她的上衣。

窗外传来了拍打翅膀的声音。

这是那位最年轻的王子。

他找到了爱莉莎。

爱莉莎高兴得一边哭一边继续织最后一件上衣。

今晚对爱莉莎来说是最后的一夜。

无论发生什么事，也要把上衣织完。

第二天早上,广场上人山人海，他们都是来看烧爱莉莎的。

爱莉莎坐在囚车也一刻不停地继续织她的第十一件上衣。

已经织好的十件上衣堆在她的脚下。

"瞧,女巫,女巫。"人们冲着爱莉莎叫骂。

突然,十一只天鹅落到囚车上,啪达啪达地拍动着翅膀。

刽子手粗暴地去抓爱莉莎手的时候,爱莉莎把十一件上衣朝天鹅抛去。

霎时间,天鹅变成了十一个英俊的王子。

只是,最年轻的王子还有一只手臂保留着天鹅翅膀的样子。

因为时间不够了,爱莉莎没来得及把最后一件上衣织完。

爱莉莎大声喊道:"魔法解除了。我可以开口说话了。我是无罪的。"

"对,爱莉莎不是女巫。"最年大的王子把事情前前后后讲给大家听。

国王高兴极了。

爱莉莎具有一颗和她的容貌一样美丽的心。

教堂的钟声响了。

鸟儿们也唱起欢乐的歌。

美丽的队列朝着城堡行进。

这是以前从未见过的最美丽的婚礼的队列。

儿童是富于想像的，在我们眼里，一切都是有生命的，因此，我们的世界是童话的世界，我们喜爱童话。许多色彩斑斓的童话向我们展现了一个个迷人的世界，无数动听的故事教会了孩子们如何辨别美与丑、善与恶、真与假、诚实与欺骗、友爱与愁恨，勇敢与软弱，正直与狡猾，智慧与愚笨......它像一盏神奇的灯，照亮孩子们的心和我们前进的道路，引领我们茁壮健康的成长。

童话如一条涓涓的细流，将质朴、深刻的人心哲理潜移默化地流入我们的心里。

在小时候，爸爸给我打印了一份《安徒生童话选》，现在回想起来，记忆犹新。

在这些童话里，我最喜欢的是《野天鹅》，里面主要讲了王子与公主的事。有一个国王，有十一位王子和一位公主，不幸的是他们的母亲去世了，国王与一个凶狠毒辣的女人结了婚。那个后妈把十一位王子都变成了野天鹅，把公主寄住在乡下人家。当公主十五岁时，国王要求见公主，后妈就想尽办法让公主变丑，使国王认不出她，并将她赶出城堡。可喜的是她遇到了自己的哥哥，他的哥哥告诉她，他们白天就会变成天鹅，太阳一落就会恢复原形。在一次梦里，公主遇到了一位好心人，他告诉公主，只有用带刺的绳子做成的披甲，才能解除他们的魔法，但编披甲的人在完工前不能说一个字。为了帮哥哥解除魔法，公主开始编制披甲，那些绳子让她白嫩的手处处鼓起大包。期间公主被嫁到了另一个国家，并被封为王后，可她不能说话，只要说一个字，她的哥哥就会死。而在编织最后一件披甲时，没有材料了，她知道在教堂后方墓地里有一些带刺的绳子，但是大主教发现了她，并告诉了国王。国王怀疑她是巫婆，众人便判决用火烧死她。当刽子手要烧她时，十一只天鹅飞了过来，她急忙把十一件披甲抛向它们，他哥哥的魔法解除了，她这才告诉人们自己是为了解救哥哥才不说话的。从此，她与国王过上了幸福的生活。

我很敬佩公主，她为了解救自己的哥哥，不怕苦，不怕累，要是我早就退缩了，我以后也要像她一样，遇到困难不退缩，不向困难低头。

有人说，童话中的故事都是假的。但是，在我眼里，童话写出了人间的真、善、美，用朴素的语言教我们辩论是非、善恶。《安徒生童话》就是这样的一本好书。

《安徒生童话》是一本童话中的经典，阅读中的极品。我最喜欢的故事是《母亲与死神》。母亲用自己的痛苦，换取孩子永远的幸福。他先后失去了眼睛、头发！这就是童话中的母爱。母爱如山，伟大坚定；母爱如水，温柔细腻。

童话蕴涵的道理，在生活中起重要作用，童话中虽然没直接告诉我们大道理，但我们可以读出做人的原则。童话里的语言生动优美，使我忘掉了自我。随着主人公的心情，我的心情也变化了，我似乎和故事中的人物融为一体了。童话中，可能一句话，一个词语，都会改变我们。

“书”就像是我们的生命，有了书，生命才会绚烂，有了书，生命才会美丽。同学们，一起读书，使自己的生命增添一份绚丽的色彩吧！

Every girl can be a princess, even though she lives in a low attic, even though she is in shabby clothes, even though she is not beautiful, nevertheless, she can be a real princess at heart.

A Little Princess is a touching novel written by Frances Hodgson Burnett—a famous novelist and dramatist. It obviously contains lots of fancied plots, but the parts it talks about creating miracles, can really reach the bottom of my heart. The book can bring me into a world that is more than reality while reading it. The extraordinary story makes me ponder a lot and gives me a deep impression that every girl can be a princess.

In my opinion, it is impossible for every rich girl to act like a well-behaved princess, but Sara, the heroine of the novel, did it! She was an imaginative little girl who had such intelligent small face and such perfect manners. Sara was a very nice girl who had a gentle, appreciative ways of saying, such as “If you please” “Thank you” which was very charming. So, not only her teachers and classmates liked her, but also her servants liked her. There was a time when Sara became a poor and pitiful servant insulted by the snobbish headmaster of the school. In spite of this, she had never complained to anyone about the horrible suffering she had endured. Sara was confident, brave, optimistic and kind-hearted just like before and she had never given up her enthusiasm of life. No matter when, Sara acted like a princess, and on account of this, she had accomplished a GREat deal of miracles over and over again.

After reading this outstanding book, I was shocked by Sara, a little girl who suffered such unimaginable pain and tortures, but still had an opposite attitude towards life. What impresses me most is that Sara put on her act of being a princess when she wore thin bottom shoes, wading in the street of London. From my point of view, her spirit of being so strong-minded when she was in hard times is worth admiring.

Truly, every girl is a princess coming into common life. The “princess” I mean is not a princess living in the palace and being regarded as the apple of everyone’s eye. As the matter of fact, the “princess” is at heart. I am in the belief that every ordinary girl in the world can be a princess. The way for a girl to be a princess is quite simple. Just suppose! You can suppose yourself to be a princess, and go about your business confidently without caring how the others would treat you. If you want to have more resemblance to a princess, be more kind and try your best to help the people in need. The most important thing you are supposed to do is that to feel like a real princess at any occasion, particularly when you are involved with enormous melancholy. Do not feel the conditions you faced are extremely wretched and attempt to get rid of the feeling of hopelessness and uneasiness. The less you look like a princess, the more you need to feel like a princess at heart.

Every girl can be a princess if she can do all I mentioned, no matter she is rich, beautiful or not. To speak truthfully, I cannot do as well as Sara. However, I will exert myself on being a princess mentally.

Do not feel depressed any more, to be a well-thought-of princess like Sara. You can do it, because Every Girl Can Be A princess.

Its simple plot relates the misfortunes of the loyal Christian slave, Tom, who, deprived of familial love and affection and destined for the harsh life of plantation slavery, doesn’t rebel or curse God, but philosophically accepts his cruel fate. Tom seems destined, now, to live out his life in a pleasant New Orleans mansion, spending his days reading Bible aloud and singing religious hymns with the angelic little Eva. But the child dies of tuberculosis, having first elicited a promise from her father to free the loyal Tom. The father is killed , however, in a brawl before he can fulfill his pledge and his widow is forced to sell Tom, who becomes the property of the heartless Simon Legree. He soon learns how really harsh the life of plantation can be, but he remains true to his religious training, elated by his pious acceptance of God’s will. Harassed by the evil Legree ,Tom displays his Christian charity by refusing to flog another slave .Simon Legree may not own Tom’s soul ,but he can do as he chooses with the body, and he orders two of his slaves, Sambo and Quimba, to whip the unresisting Tom, whose only responses to the merciless beating is a plea to stop in order that Legree might save his own soul.

On his deathbed, Tom charitably forgives the harsh Legree. Ironically, he lives long enough to witness the arrival of his former master’s son, come to redeem the family pledge by buying him back and granting his freedom.

The theme of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, for its all apparent simplicity, is representative of much of 19th century American fiction of the good man opposed by evil personified under the circumstance of slavery.

What strikes me is Tom’s loyalty to his religious belief. All of us has our own belief , it plays a most important part in our life, it supports us whenever we are caught in rough conditions ,it helps us get out of the dark to see the sunrise, it teach us how to adapt ourselves to different circumstances.

Life is full of ups and downs; we should hold our belief to fight against them to realize our goals!
