Dear Sir,

I am highly disappointed in the proposed 2004-05 budget cuts to educa1ion. Taking away basic aid status and slashing our school budgets is a recipe for educational disaster in our school. The future lies with our children. They must have access to high quality educa1ion.

My husband and I have worked hard to be able to live in a school district that provides high quality education for our children. Cutting funding in districts like ours will have a negative impact on property values.

The school that my daughter attends is hardly wha1 I would describe as a "rich" school. Parents are asked to pay for books for all the classes, science supplies and for their students to participate in the performing arts among other items. If our school is to remain a world leader in technological development, cutting our school funds is the worst possible choice to make.

Education funds should not be diverted away from education.

I came to the classroom and pushed the door open.

我们社区也不例外，每年居委会都会在小区门口的空地上举办一些活动，吸引人们来共度佳节，而令我印象最深刻的是今年的元宵节。记得那天晚饭过后，“工作狂”妈妈忽然说要带我到楼下参加活动。为此，我高兴得手舞足蹈。到了一楼我远远望去，只见社区门口搭起了一个个红色的帐篷，帐篷里挂满了一排排红色的小灯笼，就像一条条红色的圆球链子。近看，那些小灯笼好像又变成了一团团燃烧的火球，悬挂在帐篷之下，人们在这些“火球”底下来回穿梭，热闹极了!

晚上八点，活动正式开始了。各式各样的花灯，猜不透的灯谜，这些我都不大感兴趣。我被一个名叫“蒙眼睛贴猪鼻子”的游戏活动吸引住了，现场很多人，我踮起脚看了好久才看清楚游戏规则。经过15分钟漫长的等待时间，终于轮到我了，被蒙住眼睛的我一只手拿着“猪鼻子”，另一只手在小心翼翼地向前摸索着。

刚走两步，才发现这个活动并没我想象中那么容易，眼睛被蒙住了什么看不见很容易走偏，而且走路全靠感觉。变得焦虑的我心想：“什么时候才到终点啊!”就这样大概走了十五步，我的右手突然摸到了画板，于是我双手拿着“猪鼻子”盲目地往前一贴。然后，就听到有人拍着手大喊：“太好了，贴中了!”意外的我连忙把眼罩摘下，发现刚刚好贴中。我高兴得跳起来，在人海中寻找妈妈欣慰的目光，但却不见妈妈的踪影。于是，我拿着奖品到处寻找妈妈，想把这个好消息告诉她。

终于找到她了，她正端着一碗热气腾腾的汤圆向我走来。

“饿了吧?快，趁热吃了吧，可好吃了!”

“谢谢妈妈，这个，送给你。”

就这样，妈妈接过我的奖品，我端着妈妈的汤圆，大家都笑了。

今日很开心，因为今日是元宵节，不仅没有作业，还可以痛快的玩一场。

一放学，我就兴冲冲地买了八个许愿灯。吃完晚饭，我看见了弟弟，他也买了好多的许愿灯，红的、黄的、白的……应有尽有。于是。我们便一起去放许愿灯。

在爸爸的帮助下，我们点燃了一盏许愿灯，只见它在五颜六色的烟花的衬托下，是那样惹眼。远远望去，象是花仙子在百花齐放的时候，慢慢的从花里款款的走来，眼看着那盏灯，越飘越远，越飘越远，渐渐的从一条小船变成一颗耀眼的星星。紧跟着，又一颗“星星”，顿时，夜空中增加了一颗又一颗“星星”，它们给宁静的夜晚，增添了几丝欢笑和喜悦，给黑暗的天空增添了几分色彩和激情，给沉睡的大地带来了几缕生气和希望。

Dear Sir,

I noticed an ad. In the paper today you said you were looking for people to join your expedition team. It sounded as if it might be fun so Im writing to say Id like to come along.

About myself: I left school at 16 because I wanted to earn a bit of money. After that I got a few part-time jobs as a waiter, etc. But I didnt stick to any of them for long. Recently Ive been doing a bit of hitch-hiking round Europe so Ive had some experience of traveling the hard way which should come in handy on the expedition youre planning. By the way, Im a great guitarist so I can keep you all amused round the campfire at night.

Let me know when I can call in for a chat about dates and other details, etc.

元宵节是我国的传统佳节，那一天，家家户户团聚在一起，都要煮汤圆、吃汤圆。我们家也不例外。

我奶奶是包汤圆的高手。每到元宵节，我们全家围在圆桌旁，有说有笑，包起了汤圆。汤圆是圆形的，里面的馅种类繁多，有红豆馅、芝麻馅、还有猪油馅等。汤圆的颜色也是五颜六色的，有南瓜味的黄色、有抹茶味的绿色、有紫薯味的紫色、还有纯面粉的……

我们先准备好材料和工具，在米粉里加入温开水，搅拌均匀后和面。和好面，但是发现面不是很柔软，就做了一个小面团，放入锅里试试。然后把揉好的一个个面团里放入馅，最后揉成一个圆形，一个个胖乎乎的小汤圆就做成了。

过了一会儿，盘子上排满了一个个的“胖娃娃”，仿佛在说：“快来吃我吧!”我的嘴已经管不住了，馋得直流口水。我急忙端着盘子往热腾的锅里一倒。不一会儿，他们一个一个半沉半浮的，好像在举行游泳比赛，你拥我挤，不分上下。一眨眼，“胖娃娃”都浮了上来，好像张望着锅外美丽的世界。

最后我们全家吃着美味的汤圆。

吃自己的劳动成果，元宵节真是一个有意义的节日呀!
