liu hua is my best friend. she is less tall than i, but of stronger constitution. she looks more like a boy than a girl and is strong willed. at college, we spent a lot of time together reading, talking,singing and laughing. whenever we were together we feel happy and carefree.

we have much in common regarding ow education, background, interests and hobbies. we often help each other andlearn from each other. once,when she was in the hospital for an operation on her appendix, i took care of her in every way possible, which made xiang song (the young teacher who shared the ward with her) envy our friendship. when i was preparing for put graduate exams, she did the cooking and urged others to help me. after graduation we parted. she went to argentine. i was still in ustc. we promised to meet in the united states. so we both worked hard at our lessons.

true friendship lasts a long time. hard work is rewarding and three years later, we me again. true to our word, we met at the place where we promised to see each other the united states of america. i received an asslstantship in ncsu and she earned enough money in argentine to support herself and work her way through college.

刘华是我最好的朋友。她个子没我高。但比我结实。她的样子看上去与其说是女孩不如说是男孩，她意志坚强。在大学，我们一起度过了许多时光，在一起看书、谈天、欢笑。

我们在所受的教育、家庭背景、兴趣、爱好等方面有很多共同之处。我们经常互相学习、互相帮助。有一次，她住院开阑尾，我想方设法照顾她。这使项松(同病房的年轻女教师)羡慕我们的友谊。当我准备考研究生时，她做饭，并敦促别人帮助我。毕业后，我们分手了。她去了阿根廷，我仍在中国科技大学。我们曾相约在美国相见，因此我们都在发奋读书。

真正的友谊地久天长。艰苦奋斗是值得的，三年后我们又相遇了。我们如愿以偿地相会在彼此相约的地方美国。我获得北卡州立大学的助教金，而她在阿根廷挣了足够钱供自己到美国来读书。

I like eating fruit. Watermelons are my favourite fruit.

Watermelons are big and round. In Cixi, watermelons are very sweet, because they grow on the salty ground.

During summer holiday, I can eat watermelons every day. After eating, I often make a watermelon lantern with my friends. In the evening, we often take the lanterns and play in the park.

My grandmother uses the watermelon peel to make pickled food.(酱瓜) It’s salty, but very tasty.

元宵节爸爸带我去豫园看灯会，晚上6点钟 我们到了豫园。

豫园入口处，一幅用彩灯装饰的“20xx豫园新春民俗艺术灯会”会标展现在我的眼帘，真是宏伟又气派。进入园内，我目不转睛地观赏着各种各样造型的、五彩五彩缤纷的彩灯，让我眼花缭乱!

迎面看到，一只“虎虎生威”主题灯组高过9.5米，相当于三层楼的高度，仰头看去，威风凛凛的金虎踏在陡峭的山上，每隔十分钟的时间就会昂头摆尾，怒吼震山头，尽显威仪。高大雄伟的老虎彩灯——百兽之王独站山巅 周围各色小动物彩灯环绕，美妙极了，我站在那，不想离开，熙熙攘攘的人群推搡着我，爸爸硬拉着我的手向前走，我依依不舍地回头望了几次……

从灯会入口处开始，总共100只造型各异的“老虎”让人目不暇接，或憨态可掬，或雄壮威严，恭迎八方游客的到来。

接着我又看到一组灯竟然是：世博会的吉祥物——可爱的“海宝”灯展，形态可爱、各种姿态的“海宝灯”，向我频频招手!我也情不自禁地举起手，向它们招手，心里激动地说：“小海宝们我喜欢你们!我想和你们一起跳个舞……。”爸爸看透了我的心思，举起手机给我照几张了相，我可高兴了。

最后，我们来到豫园广场，看到一盏由几千只易拉罐组成的巨型虎灯，那一盏盏彩灯与易拉罐组合成威猛的老虎灯，别具一格、造型别致，赏灯的游客纷纷留影合照。

今晚的豫园，百虎迷人眼，海宝大拜年，彩灯如昼，烟火生辉，灯会里处处都是美景;古色古香的豫园商城今晚华灯高照，迎接着四面八方赏灯的游客，预示着虎年上海世博会的成功!

我度过了一个难忘的元宵节。

My family has a cute and naughty little white dog, we call it "yellow".

Yellow and yellow round, the body covered with white long hair, hand touch, soft, warm, slippery, really like a group of lovely small pompon. Eyes black yo, like two shiny black pearls. Ears sharp, very sensitive, erected, vigilant to listen to all around. It is a very, very small "big dog".

Yellow is very lively and fun. When the yellow is very excited, it shook his tail to play its good show: sometimes at home to move west jump, sometimes desperately shaking the tail, sometimes with the claws flutter our legs asked to hold.

In China, the number of college students increases every year, as more and

more students get the college education, college students are under great

pressure. We hear from the news that a lot of students can’t find jobs after

graduation, then the next year, the other students gets graduating, the two

years’ students compete for the jobs! I just can’t imagine such situation. The

pressure from college students is getting greater, they should relieve it now

and then, because too much pressure will bring bad effect, some may distort

their minds, once their emotion can’t relieve in time, some tragical things may

happen. It is said that some students suicide themselves because they have much

pressure. Everybody will have pressure, but we must know that pressure brings

motivation, at the same time, it also brings burden, we have to balance it. When

we deal with it well, we can live a better life.
