My interest was reinforced when I had the opportunity to participate in some research projects in the Central South University. In May, 2003, I began working with prof.Zhou to do research on microbial treatment processes for the nitrogen removal in wastewater. I participated in the separation method of nitrifier and denitrifier (chemolithoautotrophic bacteria, very small colony, grows slow, have the same color with the culture medium) and do some research on their Physiology characteristics.

I have been consciously strengthening my research ability by teaching myself advanced knowledge including microbial physiology, microbial statistics. Through these projects, I have not only learned many practical techniques but also acquired a solid theoretical background and a broad scope in scientific research in my fields of interest. Despite the intensive curriculum, I have always kept an eye on a broader world outside.

As a member of the CSU-Students Union, I’ve improved my communication and cooperation skills through some meaningful activities. It has become clear to me that a good academic environment can play a very important role in my pursuit of excellence. I believe pursuing a Master’s degree at CSU, would be a most reasonable extension of my academic pursuit and a major step forward toward my career goal.

如何让自我介绍富有特色

有句话说得好，这个世界上没有陌生的人，只有还没有来得及认识的朋友。

如何介绍自己的名字是有讲究的。有很多的朋友介绍自己的名字陷入了一些误区： 误区一：拆字介绍——特别是生僻的字，拆了半天，对方可能仍然没有明白。

比如，有一位同学，叫：周江平，他是这样介绍的：我叫周江平，，江是***的江，平是邓小平的平。三位伟人都是我最崇拜的偶像，因此，我时时刻刻都把偶像挂在嘴边，鞭策自己做一个对社会有益的人。

再如，我们的助教中，有一位叫刘伊城的，这个名字如果用普通的方法很难介绍到位，但是如果这样介绍：刘德华的刘，郑伊健的伊，郭富城的城——这就能一鸣惊人，非常富有创意。 当然有时三个字如果无法全部与名人挂钩，也可以先从其实一个字开始。需要强调的是，最好运用同一类的名人来介绍自己的名字效果更好，比如周江平如果说成：潘长江的江，平安的平，效果就不是太好了。

方法四：谐音法。利用谐音也能很好的给人留下想像的空间，留有余味。

如，邢芸，这个名字，就可以这样子介绍，效果就好多了：我叫邢芸，芸是芸芸众生的芸。我告诉大家一个秘密，你们要经常喊我的名字，你们就会得到好运。因为我的名字的谐音就是：幸运！请大家记住我，我会带给你们幸运的！

再如：刘学，这个名字，就可以这样介绍：大家好，我叫刘学，学是学习的习。我叫刘学，但从小学到大学，我并没有留过级，而后来，我确实去美国留学了半年，现在可谓：名副其实啊！

方法五：图像法。就是营造一种图象，让别人想像一下，这样更能人记住你的名字。人们比较容易记住生动的画面，而很难记住抽象的道理。

方法六：和地名挂钩。和自己相关的地方挂钩，既让对方记住了自己的名字，又能知道一些其他信息。

比如：李淮河，可以这样子介绍：我姓李，在秦淮河边长大，因此我名字就叫做：李淮河。有很多人的名字里面有湘、蓉、黔等字眼，仔细分析一下也许就是因为他们的出生地在那里，才以地为名。

方法七：古诗词法。很多人的名字都是取自于古诗词，这样介绍自己就更容易了。

比如：时新——无边光景一时新；张恨水——自是人生常恨水常东；张习之——学而时习之。 方法八：寓意拆字法——拆字不可取，但是拆字时赋予它特别的意义就非常有意义了。 比如：老舍，姓舒，字舍予——舍予为人，非常富有特别的意义；有位作家叫张长弓，名字就很特别。

方法九：名人对比法。这是与名人挂钩的另一种独特的介绍方法，可以让自己一鸣惊人！格式为：古有??今有??或是：演艺名星??，在下小弟??。

比如：古有李仙李太白，在下设计师李太强！

演艺名星潘长江，台上讲师李长江。

这种方法简单实用，只要你的名字有一个或两个字和名人相似就可以了。

今天，为了星期五的试讲，我将教案又重新誊写了一遍，交给管老师再次批阅。经过她的点评和点拨，原本一份儿自认为还不错的教学设计竟是如此的漏洞百出。

教学形式的多样化与教学效果是否成正比：选择多样化的教学形式，学生会感受到课堂气氛的活跃，但繁多的形式会使学生眼花缭乱。在《Atasnack》这一课，由于讲授的内容是食物类的单词和句型。所以我选择了很多样化的教具和教学形式，课堂氛围应该总体不错，但至于整堂课的教学效果，我实在是不好说。现在我很疑惑：一节课传授的是知识，教学形式只是是教学目标实现的辅助手段而已，该如何适度地运用不同的教学形式呢？

而且，我还学到了对于教材，自己要进行认真的分析，加以自己的理解，再进行适当的处理，这样才能做出最好的掌握。

之前，我的处理较于呆板，不仅自己教授起来困难，而且学生接受、掌握起来也并不是很容易。如果我能多动动脑子、多花花心思，也许就能找到更好、更合理的解决所教授内容的方式。

1、为了保证文章层次分明、条理清楚，要把时间固定下来，如：记叙一件事要用过去时;写经常发生的事或对人物的描写，要用一般现在时。整个文章中的人称要一致，首尾呼应，不要随意改动，以免造成误解。

2、不要为了追求“一鸣惊人”而去找一些生冷的词汇，对这些一知半解的词你不会用，不知道如何搭配，结果可能适得其反，使文章显的生硬、不协调，甚至错误百出，所以要使用有把握的词，避免不必要的失分。比如说发生了一起意外事件，我们通常用“have an accident ”来表示，不要错误的使用“have an incident”。

3、注意不同语言的表达习惯，也是写好英语作文的重要环节，如“我的理想是做一名歌手”，很多同学写成“My ambition is to do/make a singer，” “to do”表示“做”或者“干”，“to make”表示“制作”，而“做一名歌手”则表示“成为一名歌手”应该用“be/become a singer”;又如“看书、看报”应用“read a book/newspaper”，而不是“see a book/newspaper”。因此，平时应该注意不同语言的表达习惯，切忌望文生义或一味生搬硬套。

4、有些同学因怕出错而只写短句或简单句，写出的文章过于幼稚、空洞乏味。要使文章有血有肉就要把平时学的知识用进去，如：定语从句、宾语从句、非谓语动词和比较等句型，关键时用上一、二个，就能使文章不同凡响，更有文采，特别是对关联词的使用，如“so that”、“not…but ”“not only...but also”等，会使你的文章逻辑结构紧密、层次鲜明、条理清楚，更能显示出你的英文功底，但要做到这些并非一日之功，要靠平时的不断训练和积累。

5、最简单的增分点就是认真的书写。工整漂亮的书写会给评卷老师留下美好的第一印象，在扣分时自然会“手下留情”，而且很多地区都在写作上有1分的书写分。只要平时多下点功夫，得到这一分并不难。

注意事项：

最后将中考写作的基本步骤和技巧归纳为以下几个环节：

1、细心审题细读题目中每一项提示或观察所给的每一幅画，明确文章的中心思想，弄清题意，确定写作体裁，掌握所要表达的要点做到心中有数，避免随心所欲，文不对题。

2、理顺要点在所给提示或图上标出要点，然后按事件先后的顺序或各要点之间的内在联系排序，分出层次。如果是看图作文，则要按图构思，这样做既可避免要点遗漏，又可使表达内容条理清楚。

3、构成框架将理顺的要点或每幅图画的含义加以连贯，构成写作的整体框架，进一步定人称、定时态语态、定顺序、定段落、定开头结尾。基本框架构成后，写作就有了把握。

4、组织句子用自己最熟悉的短语或句型将理顺的要点逐句表达出来，多用简单句，用有把握的复合句。要扬长避短，避难就易。若遇到表达障碍，可换一种说法，将一句变成两、三句，只求达意。

5、串句成篇将写好的句子连贯地组织起来，注意上下句的逻辑关系，适当采用递进、让步、转折、因果等关联词语，使短文浑然一体，层次分明，过渡自然。6、检查修改文章草成后，默读1～2遍，检查修改，尤其要注意人称、大小写、拼写、习惯用语、格式有无错误，要点有无遗漏，文句有无语病，词数是否恰当，行文是否连贯。

Penguins live around the South Pole. They usually spend all their waking hours in the water. Only during the egg-laying and mating periods do penguins actually live on land. During the egg-laying period, the female penguin lays usually one egg. This egg is kept in a flap of skin, much like a pocket, located near the top of the penguin’s feet. The male and female penguins take turns caring for the egg. After the baby penguin is hatched, its mother takes care of it until it is able to walk. Penguins commonly are black with black heads and white breasts. Large penguins often stand about 3 feet in height. Since a penguin’s legs are placed far back, it is able to maintain a very erect posture. The firecracker is a unique product in China. In ancient China, the sound of burning bamboo tubes was used to scare away wild animals and evil spirits. With the invention of the gunpowder, “firecracker” is also called “鞭炮biānpào” (“炮” in Chinese means gun) and used to foster a joyful atmosphere. The first thing every Chinese household does is to set off firecrackers and fireworks, which are meant to bid farewell to the old year and usher in the new. In the past few years, such an activity was completely or partially forbidden in big cities including Beijing due to fire and personal casualty caused by burning firecrackers. However, some Chinese thought that a Spring Festival without firecrackers was not lively enough and they burned firecrackers by stealth. So in recent years, the ban was canceled again. This shows that burning firecrackers is a very important activity during the Spring Festival.

After a brief reunion with our American aunt, we soon embarked on a trip to the east of the United States. Our first stop was New York.

Every Chinese, who experienced 1980s, will remember forever the day November 6th 1981 when the China National Womens Volleyball Team defeated the Japan National Team (the so-called "Toyo Women Magic") with 3 to 2 at the 3rd World Womens Volleyball Cup in Osaka Japan. Thats the first world title for China Womens Volleyball Team. Everyone was shocked by this news. At that time, China had just been out of the "Cultural Revolution". When the news was broadcasted, people burst into joyful tears.

Their victory was the result of all the former volleyball players effort. In 1965,a famous coach of Japan was invited to China to help train the China National Womens Volleyball Team. Seeing both the players conscientious and spirit and the support from the Chinese people, he exclaimed, "Im sure that the China National Womens Volleyball Team will become strong!"

In 1982, the China National Womens Volleyball Team won the gold medal again at the World Womens Volleyball Championships in Peru under the leadership of Yuan Weimin.

In August 1984, the China National Womens Volleyball Team defeated successively the Japan National Team and the US National Team with 3 to 0, and won the gold medal again at the 23rd Olympic Games, which realized the "Triple Crown" dream at the world matches. The pride head coach of Japan National Team said, "Defeating China National Team is equal to block the Yangtze River. Both are impossible." The American coach said, "I hope our children will play basketball as well as the Chinese girls."

The elder players gradually retired after 1985. Then Lang Ping, the World No.1 Spiker at that time, was named the captain. She and her teammates went to Japan to join in the 4th World Cup, and won the title for the 4th time without losing any match.

Two years later, the China National Womens Volleyball Team came to the 14th World Womens Volleyball Team Championships. Though the famous players, such as the "Iron Girl" Cao Huiying, the "Iron Hammer" Lang Ping, the "Wall of Tian An Men Rostrum" Zhou Xiaolan, and the "Quick Attacker" Zhang Rongfang, had retired, the Chinese girls still won the gold medal by their strength and wisdom. The "Penta Crown" shocked the world. What a miracle!

The "Penta Crown" is not only a great honor, but also an ever spur. It has become the spirit of the China National Womens Volleyball Team. At present, the China National Womens Volleyball Team has become a symbol of striving and competing in Chinese peoples hearts.

As the fast development of other countries volleyball career, the China National Womens Volleyball Team had lost parts of their advantages for a period. In early 1995, Lang Ping, the former core player of the "Penta Crown" team, became the head coach of the Chinese National Team. Though its very hard to train these young players in such a short time, she made it. The China National Womens Volleyball Team won the bronze medals at the 7th World Cups at the end of 1995. Then they won the silver medals at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996, and the gold medals at the 13th Asian Games in 1998. The China National Womens Volleyball Team became the No.1 in Asian again. Whats more, they made a greater miracle at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. These young girls defeated the rival in a very disadvantaged situation and won the gold medals finally, which were the bestaffirmation for their previous hard work.

Along with Reform and Opening up Policys carrying on and the Spirit of the National Womens Volleyball Team, volleyball had spread in all parts of China. You can find people playing volleyball everywhere, not only in the residential areas and the countryside, but also in schools and factories. The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games render a nationwide movement of body-building in China. Meanwhile, it serves more chances for the sports events development including the volleyball in China.
