Currently, some cities are considering a food ban on subways, which has sparked heated discussion. Some people say food should be banned because of the trash and rats they attract. And, garbage from discarded food can cause track fires. Beyond sanitary and mechanical concerns, food can also cause fights, as was discovered last week by one passenger who criticized a woman eating steamed stuffed bun on the subway.

However, some others are opposed to the idea. They argue that people like eating in the train in the morning because they dont have enough time to eat at their houses or restaurants. Sometimes that may be the only time or meal a transit rider may be able to eat especially when traveling long distances. Besides, there are people, for example diabetics, who do require food at various times to maintain blood-sugar levels.

Personally, Im against the ban because of the huge inconvenience it would cause to commuters, and the expense involved in enforcing it. Still, I believe we should have a little common courtesy. I think we all have responsibility to try to treat our subway system and fellow riders with respect, and that extends to food as well.

What is healthy diet? To the most people, healthy diet means more green foods, no junk foods. The green food is those pollution-free, high quality and nutrient food, including the organic vegetables and meats, fruits, eggs and so on. The meals of healthy diet should be cooked with fewer salt and oil. “民以食为天，食以水为先”。“水”这个字对大家来说并不陌生，我们天天都在用水，时时刻刻离不开水。在 1993年召开的第47届联合过大会上，确定每年的3月22日为“世界水日” ，以此来提醒全球的人类要重视水资源的问题 ，而我们即将面临的也就是水资源的危机 。

最近，我看了《人口过剩》的电影，对水资源的危机更是担忧。水的面积占地球表面的71%，水资源总量达到14亿立方千米。可谁知道海洋咸水就占去97·5%，淡水仅占2·5%，仅存量只有3·5亿立方米，并且大多数都在北极和南极两个地方之中。我们能利用的地表水仅有105亿立方，依此计算到2025年，世界人口会从60亿到89亿。地球上每个居民用水占有量将比目前减少三分之一。这样，下世纪全人类就面临严重的水荒。目前全球的气候逐渐变暖 ，南北极的冰雪在迅速融化，预示着水资源的迅速消耗。

这不仅是缺水危机，世界还有水资源被污染的问题，如果人要喝了污水，人就会生病，据数据显示，目前有的国家的人们喝不到纯净水的有10亿，2亿多的水都被污染，有1000人因喝污水死亡。

由此可见，现在我们知道了水的重要性还不晚，我国在世界上也属于贫水国家，占世界22%的人口享有8%的淡水占有量，人均淡水拥有量只有世界平均值的三分之一。因此，保护水资源必须引起社会各方面的重视。对于我们小学生来讲，想对大家说的是：我们要从自己做起，从小事做起，从一点一滴做起 ，提高节约用水和保护水资源的意识，同时要积极宣传、号召大家一起动手，共同来珍惜水资源，共同来保护我们赖以生存的地球。
