Recently,I have just finished reading a famous novel written by Margaret mitchellGone with the Wind，which is one of the most popular works among American novels.It took the auther about 10 years to finish this great novel,the only novel in her life.

The story happened during the Civil War eve.Scarlett O"Hara,a 16-year-old girl,who was living in Tala manor in Georgia,was loving her neighbor Ashley Wilkes.However,after the war have broken out, Ashley Wilkes married his yonger cousin Melanie. Scarlett was so angry that she decided to marry a man she didn’t really love---- Charles Hamilton.Not long after that, Charles Hamilton joined the Army and died of illness in the war.So Scarlett had to act as a widow.Afterwards,at a donating dance party,Scarlett is acquainted with a captain named Rhett Butler. Huckleberry Finn was a great literary work published in 1885 and written by Mark Twain. The book was a great classic, the only reason that I did read it is because we have to read a classic for school, however, now that I have read it I realize that it was a great book. I would read this book two or three times, and I do not like reading books again. The book was really able to portray the idea of childhood innocence and foolishness in the book, especially the end. I thought that this book was really an eye opener for people who may think that life is not worth living or maybe derpessed. Because, as you can see, Huck was a young boy who had an alcoholic father who beat him all the time, even kidnapped him after he was adopted by other people. Huck even decided to run away from his father, yet he is still a young, fun loving kid in the end, especially when Tom reveals to him how the whole trip was just a game. The only thing I have to say against the book is that it did seem a little racist with its words, however maybe this is just how they talked in that time period? Overall a great read that I highly reccomend.

I once read a book named “Charlottes Web ".It talks about a very moving story which is one of the most remarkablely beautiful memory in my childhood.

This is the gist of the story.Pig Wilbur and the spider Charlotte live in so perfect accord with each other that they built sincere friendship. However, a bad news came like a bolt from the blue: Wilbur will be killed on the Christmas day! "You never die, Ill save you!"by Charlotte when Wilbur was wailing "I dont want to die!" To fulfill her promise, Charlotte devoted all her lifetime and asked no rewards, until the moment she died.

After I had read the book,I was in contemplative mood. Only leaving the selfless love and pure kindness，Charlottes own time was at an end. When this sort of emotion has already been lacked seriously in contemporary society, this story undoubtedly moves the readers.

According to my point，we need such kind of friendship in our life,so we must learn from Charlotte. As they old saying goes”A friend in need is a friend in deed”。We should help our friends as much as we could when they needed. Let us go into action, let the world become especially fine.

Thoughts or reflections on reading Wuthering Heights

The book was written by Emily Bronte, it published in 1847.But at that time, it seemed to hold little promise, selling very poorly and receiving only a few mixed reviews. I found this in our school library, I chose this book because the title attracted me. The book is structured around two parallel love stories, the first half of the novel centering on the love between Catherine and Heathcliff, while the less dramatic second half features the developing love between young Catherine and Hareton. In contrast to the first, the latter tale ends happily, restoring peace and order to Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange. In the story, the two houses, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, represent opposing worlds and values.

I spent twenty days reading this book. After reading this book, I felt for Heathcliff at first. Heathcliff begins his life as a homeless orphan on the streets of Liverpool, and then he tyrannized by Hindley Earnshaw. But he becomes a villain when he acquires power and returns to Wuthering Heights with money and the trappings of a gentleman. His malevolence proves so great and long—lasting. As he himself points out, his abuse of Isabella—his wife is purely sadistic, as he amuses himself by seeing how much abuse she can take and still come cringing back for more.

Catherine represents wild nature, in both her high, lively spirits and her occasional cruelty. She loves Heathcliff so intensely that she claims they are the same person. However, her actions are driven in part by her social ambitions, which initially are awakened during her first stay at the Lintons, and which eventually compel her to marry Edgar. Catherine is free—spirited, beautiful, spoiled, and often arrogant, she is given to fits of temper, and she is torn between her both of the men who love her. The location of her coffin symbolizes the conflict that tears apart her short life. She is buried in a corner of the Kirkyard. In contrast to Catherine, Isabella Linton—Catherine’s sister—in—law represents culture and civilization, both in her refinement and in her weakness. Ultimately, she ruins her life by falling in love with Heathcliff. He never returns her feelings and treats her as a meretool in his quest for revenge on the Linton family.

Just as Isabella Linton serves as Catherine’s foil, Edgar Linton serves as Heathcliff’s. Edgar grows into a tender, constant, but cowardly man. He is almost the ideal gentleman. However, this full assortment of gentlemanly characteristics, along with his civilized virtues, proves useless in Edgar’s clashes with his foil. He sees his wife obviously in love with another man but unable to do anything to rectify the situation. Heathcliff, who gains power over his wife, sister , and daughter.

The whole story make people’s mood heavy. Fortunately, the end is happy.

The author Emily Bronte lived an eccentric, closely guarded life. She was born in 1818, two years after Charlotte—the author of Jane Eyre and a year and a half before her sister Anne, who also became an author. Her father worked as a church rector, and her aunt, who raised the Bronte children after their mother died, was deeply religious. Emily Bronte did not take to her aunt’s Christian fervor, the character of Joseph, a caricature of an evangelical, may have been inspired by her aunt’s religiosity. The Brontes lived in Haworth, a Yorkshire village in the midst of the moors. These wild, desolate expanses—later the setting of Wuthering Heights—made up the Brontes daily environment, and Emily lived among them her entire life. She died in 1848, at the age of thirty.

I like this book because it rest on the unforgettable characters. Wuthering Heights is based partly on the Gothic tradition, a style of literature that featured supernatural encounters, crumbling ruins, moonless nights, and grotesque imagery, seeking to create effects of mystery and fear. I would like to recommend this book to other readers.

我认识到：环境能影响和改变一个人。在贫民窟长大的穷孩子，更能体会到民间的疾苦，感受人间的人情冷暖，所以汤姆才会更加珍惜自己来之不易的幸福，并且造福于更多的苦命百姓。而在王宫里享受着荣华富贵和锦衣玉食的王子爱德华，经过在民间流浪当乞丐的那些日子，终于知道了如何用自己拥有的权力给人民谋取更多的福利，使自己的人生变得更有价值。

《王子与贫儿》这本书告诉了我，不管在多么艰辛的环境下，都不能失去一颗坚定、善良的心，珍惜来之不易的生活。

看完小王子，感觉自己在童话故事里看到了现实生活中的点点滴滴，这里面用一个个小小的且寓意深刻的故事，细腻的描绘了人性的善与恶，真诚与虚伪，利益与纯真，虚荣和嫉妒，爱和包容。

人性是善良的，同时也是丑陋的，在这个纷纷扰扰的现实世界里，又何尝不是充满了利益，险恶，虚荣，但是对于美好的，善良的真挚的东西，是我们值得去珍惜的，小王子是一部洗涤心灵的书，他用简单，深刻，短小，甚至是童话般的故事，赞扬了真，善，美，同时又是对假，恶，丑的一种抨击，对现实社会的一种批判，他的这种赞扬和批评精神，是具有时代意义的，小王子这本书也是充满正能量的，同时也是赋有童话和现实意义的书。

《小王子》主要由两大部分构成，一部分是小王子的旅行，对自我，对真实世界的追索，就如他在旅途中所看到的，那些对权利追求的国王，那些对虚荣，对金钱，对懒惰贪婪的酒鬼，他是感到厌恶的，憎恨的，小王子他是一个善良的人，他有一颗童真搬的心同时他也是执着的，以至于他旅行各个星球，寻找他内心纯真的，美好的，有意义的世界，就如他在他的星球，对他的花儿的悉心照顾，对他星球的爱护，小王子他每天都会看日落，他是那么的热爱生活，热爱光明。

在后面就是黛尔芬和玛丽娜以及许多的童话故事等等，这主要是对丑陋，虚伪的揭露和批判，同时也是对真诚，对爱的赞扬。

第二部分，就是讲的萨拉，因为她善良，聪明，言行举止不同于其他的小孩，而且穿着打扮很是高贵，所以大家都称她为小公主，这位小公主从小丧母，她父亲也特别特疼爱她，但她也很爱自己的父亲，她虽然年纪小，没有母亲，但她在经后的生活中，她用她的爱，她的善良，她的真诚，帮助了许多需要帮助的人，这是可贵的，更是可敬的。

但是灾难一次一次降临她身上，父亲去世，让她从公主，一下变成了孤儿，甚至是女佣，任明钦小姐的摆弄，打击，摧残，但她的内心虽然痛苦，虽然幼小的心灵饱受打击，但她依然是坚强的，心灵依然是那么的高贵，善良，甚至是对小动物，她也怜悯她们，但是对于明钦小姐的怒斥，打击，讥讽，他虽沦为女佣，但她用高贵的精神战胜了她，她对明钦小姐的责骂不屑一顾。就如书中所说，“萨拉公主过的是超脱于世上一切事物的精神生活”。她的身上有着真，善，美，世间最可贵的东西，到最后，萨拉公主的失而复得，也是对明钦小姐虚荣，利益，世俗，丑恶的揭露，更是对假，恶，丑，的强烈的反击和批判。

艺术性总结。其一，语言细腻，生动，用简短的篇幅，深刻的赞扬了真，善，美，同时又是对假，恶，丑的抨击。

其四，小说中，运用了大量的心里描写，通过拟人的手法，揭示了事物的本质，通过人内心的感情变化，形象描写，使小说，更加的充满真实感，融入感。

其五，这部小说更是对人性的剖析，也是对现实世界的真实写照，这对于我自己而言，读了此书，使自己更加的了解自己，认识自己。

when i read " the senior fisherman think: here to the seacoast really was too near perhaps could have a bigger fish in a farther place... My favorite book is wrote by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. I still remember the first time I read the book, I was like in a fantastic world. The little prince is a boy who has an angelical heart, his life is also very simple-a small planet which is full of flowers and monkey bread tree seedlings. The little prince is always depressed, and when he was sad, he would sit on a chair and see the sunset. He even see forty-three times sunset in a day to make himself feel better.

His life turned to a new appearance when a beautiful rose came out. She is a flower with proud, when her lie was exposed by the little prince, she felt embarrassed. The small misunderstanding between them made the little prince determined to leave the planet he lived on.

On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the Sahara, on the earth.

The plot is easy, but the deep meaning of the story is worth thinking . we have grown up as an adult, then we are gradually surrounded by meaningless figures and money. We live in a complex society , every day we must be faced with all kinds of person ,which made our heart more and more cold and detached. For me, society is a monster which could kill the pureness inside of my mind. I’m so grateful for reading this story. And from then on, I have a little prince live in my heart, and when I felt tired to face the society, he appeared and took me back to the clean and honest world that I’ve ever stayed in childhood. Then, I found out everything seemed so simple and life was so beautiful.
