The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is called the "Ten-thousand-Ii Great Wall" in Chinese.In fact, its more than 6000 kilometres long. It winds its way from west to east, across deserts, over mountains, through valleys till at last it reaches the sea. It is one of the wonders of the world.

此时，是清晨，太阳神秘地躲在山后面，给暗色的山顶镶上了耀眼的金边。我站在山脚下，仰望着连绵的山岭，绿树环绕的山峰。我们一行人，沿着掩藏在绿荫中的石板路，攀向山顶的古长城。 这是成片的绿色。树木连成一片，一望无际，郁郁葱葱。向远方望去，隐隐约约瞧见一条巨龙般的长城蜿蜒在山岭之间。近处，参天的古杉伸展着岁月的枝干，撑起一片绿阴；新生的小树苗儿，贪婪地呼吸者山间的空气，自在地舞动着稚嫩的枝条。山里的一切在这灿烂的清晨，都显得那样神秘，又那样活泼。 又往上走了一会儿，已是七点了，林子里细细传来几声蝉叫，声音轻轻地，然后又越来越响，仿佛是从一个人的独唱，变成了多人的合唱。我游兴大发，与朋友高声攀谈了几句，话音未落，林子里传出“扑扑”声，转而又冲出一只大鸟，扑闪着翅膀飞走了。我们一拐弯，又瞧见一个马倌赶着两匹马儿悠哉游哉地走过，看着它们，我好像到了古代。 七时一刻许，我们登上了长城，猛地，太阳放出了万道金光，连绵的群山和巨龙般的长城笼罩在金光之中。

这座慕田峪古长城始建于明朝，用于防御外敌，起了重要的军事作用。我站在长城上，望着这条巨龙，不禁想起那金戈铁马的时代，岁月的风沙掩盖了当年“关宁铁骑”留下的蹄印，战争的硝烟也已经远去。遥想长城内外雄关险峻，多少人曾在这儿奋不顾身，报家卫国。我走进一座烽火台，站在它云雾缭绕的炮口，放眼望去，群山云雾缭绕，神秘莫测。 我们下山是坐缆车的，缆车慢慢地向下滑动着，山中美景大半收在眼底，绿树，小鸟，阳光，这一切都恰到好处地融合在一起，显得那样宁静又和谐。 我们到了山下，仰望山顶，那长城在青山之巅，如一条金链反射着太阳耀眼的光……|||
