玩着玩着，突然它不小心踩到了一块石头，摔倒了，乒乓球滚啊滚，乒乓球掉进了一个小洞里，可是洞又小又深怎么办呀。大熊猫急得哇哇大哭，这时聪明的小猴子热心地跑来说：“大熊猫你怎么了呀？你别哭。”大熊猫伤心地说：“我的乒乓球掉进了洞里，你能帮我捡吗？”小猴子灵机一动想出了好办法。小猴子拿来了一桶水倒进了洞里，不一会儿，洞里的水满了，乒乓球跟着水浮了起来，小猴子和大熊猫轻而易举地把乒乓球捡了起来。

Many scientists had predicted that someday robots would replace human being not

only in physical work, but also in minds. How terrible it would be. It is said

that scientists saw two robots discussing by creating a new language, then they

decided to turn down the machine and made them stop working. They knew clearly

the danger may happen in the future. Most people have thought about

那是上幼儿园时的一个普通周末。平时我看到爸爸、妈妈出门前都要嚼上一、两粒口香糖，我很好奇。口香糖到底是个什么东西呢？今天，好不容易才等到了这次机会，爸爸和妈妈要出去一趟，让我一个人留在家里，顿时紧张得心怦怦直跳。我立马找到口香糖，小心翼翼地取出一粒放进嘴里，一股甜滋滋的味道在口腔里激荡开来，我坐在沙发上，慢慢地品尝着这个“美味”，吃着吃着，一不小心，口香糖就被我吞进了肚子里，我一下子呆住了，怎么办呢？我以前听一个小伙伴说过，他父母从来都不会让他吃口香糖的，因为如果咽下去就会死的。一想到这些，我开始哇哇大哭起来，脸上留下了一道道泪痕，也不知道哭了多久，躺着就睡着了。我仿佛穿着白色的衣服，长着白色的小翅膀，头上戴着金色的光环，正要去见上帝呢。咦？天堂怎么这么像我家，上帝怎么这么像我妈？只听“上帝”对我说：“这么贪睡啊，小懒虫，快起来吃午饭了。”是妈妈！原来我没死啊，还有饭吃，太好了。

虽然这件事已经过去很多年了，但还是深刻的印在我的脑海里。每当回忆起来，我就禁不住地想笑，成长的故事真有趣啊。

When I was very small, I liked to read novels and watched all kinds of

detective cartoons. In my heart, I have a small dream. I want to be a writer. So

I have written some short stories, but I am very shy and never let others to see

it. I keep revising the stories and when I am ready, I want my best friend to be

my first reader.

I often imagine what my life will be like in the future. I think my life will be very different in ten years. I will be twenty-eight years old by then. I will have my own family. Probably with a lovely child. I hope I will work in a computer company as a program designer. I will enjoy my work and get along well with my colleagues, I will do a good job in whatever I do. In my free time, I will continue to take regular exercise, such as swimming, running and various ball games. On my holidays, I will travel around the world. In a word, my life will be much richer and more colorful.

Here is a difference between science and technology.Science is a method of

answering theoretical questions; technology is a method of solving practical

problems. Science has to do with discovering the facts and relationships between

observable phenomena in nature and with establishing theories that serve to

organize these facts and relationships; technology has to do with

tools,techniques, and procedures for implementing the findings of science.

Another distinction between science and technology has to do with the

progress in each. Progress in science excludes the human factor. Scientists, who

seek to comprehend the universe and know the truth with the highest degree of

accuracy and certainty, cannot pay heed to their own or other peoples likes or

dislikes, or to popular ideas about the fitness of things. What scientists

discover may shock or anger people--as did Darwins theory of evolution. But

even an unpleasant truth is more than likely to be useful; besides, we have the

option of refusing to believe it! But hardly so with technology;we do not have

the option of refusing to hear the sonic boom produced by a supersonic

aircraft-flying overhead; we do not have the option of refusing to breathe

polluted air. Unlike science, progress in technology must be our slave and not

the reverse. The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peopie--people in

general, not merely some people; and future generations, not merely those who

presently wish to gain advantage for themselves.

We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame

technology itself for widespread pollution, resource depletion and even social

decay in general--so much so that the promise of technology is obscured. That

promise is a cleaner and healthier world. If wise applications of science and

technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?
