天是补好了，可是却找不到支撑四极的柱子。要是没有柱子支撑，天就会塌下来。情急之下，女娲只好将背负天台山之神鳌的四只足砍下来支撑四极。可是天台山要是没有神鳌的负载，就会沉入海底，于是女娲将天台山移到东海之滨的琅琊，就为今天日照市涛雒镇一带。至今天台山上仍然留有女娲补天台、补天台下有被斩了足的神鳌和补天剩下的五彩石，后人称之为太阳神石。
