for an example, I fail in my exam. In fact, failure always does appear, which

In summary, I wish when failure appears, each one of us could confront with

Although the winter vacation, I will continue my learning, in the morning,

The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually

in February or March in the Gregorian calendar. As early as the Western Han

Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), Buddhism flourished in China. One emperor heard that

Till today, the lantern festival is still held each year around the

country. Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are hung in the streets,

attracting countless visitors. Children will hold self-made or bought lanterns

to stroll with on the streets, extremely excited. "Guessing lantern riddles"is

an essential part of the Festival.

Lantern owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the

lanterns. If visitors have solutions to the riddles, they can pull the paper out

and go to the lantern owners to check their answer. If they are right, they will

get a little gift. The activity emerged during peoples enjoyment of lanterns in

the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As riddle guessing is interesting and full of

wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.

People will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also

called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

paste, jujube paste, walnut meat, dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling.

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

reunion. So people eat them to denote union, harmony and happiness for the

family.

In the daytime of the Festival, performances such as a dragon lantern

dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and

beating drums while dancing will be staged. On the night, except for magnificent

lanterns, fireworks form a beautiful scene. Most families spare some fireworks

from the Spring Festival and let them off in the Lantern Festival. Some local

governments will even organize a fireworks party. On the night when the first

full moon enters the New Year, people become really intoxicated by the imposing

fireworks and bright moon in the sky.

这个典故出自《三国志.蜀志.先王传》。东汉末年，刘备在割据争雄的混战中失败后，投奔到荆州刺史刘表那里。刘表对待刘备很好，吃、住、行都安排得妥贴周密。一晃刘备都在荆州闲住了五年。一天，刘备和刘表在一起闲谈，不一会儿刘备去厕所解手，在厕所里他用手摸了摸自己的大腿，禁不住流下眼泪。回到屋时脸上还沾有泪痕。刘表见他这副模样，忙问原因，刘备说："没什么，过去我是身不离马鞍，大腿上的肌肉很结实。自从来到你这里后，无忧无虑，享尽清福。这些年由于不再骑马打仗，大腿上的肉又肥又松。唉，人快老了，却一点功业都没完成，一想这件事，我的心中就很痛苦。

现一般用此典故比喻长久安逸，无所作为。

2、避实就虚

这个典故源于《孙子.虚实篇》。孙武是我国古代著名的军事家，春秋时期齐国人。他所著的《孙子兵法》是一部重要的军事著作。在这部著作中的《虚实》篇中，他主要论述如何使敌虚我实，从而达到在战斗中以实击虚、夺取胜利的目的。他指出：作战的方式、方法，就好像水的流动一样，因为水是避开高处往低流，所以打仗用兵应该避开敌方实处而击其虚处。水适应地理形态变化而流动，那么用兵打仗就应该针对敌情的变化而制定取胜的办法。因此说用兵打仗没有一定的规律，流水也没有一定的固定地形。如果能根据敌情变化而制定夺取胜利的办法，可称其为用兵如神。所以五行（金、木、水、火、土）之中没有哪一行是常胜的；春、夏、秋、冬四季交替，没有哪一季是固定不变的。因此说，日子有长有短，月亮有缺有圆，打仗用兵也是这样。

现一般用此典故说明谈论问题空洞无物，回避要害。

3、笔底生风

这个典故出自《图画见闻志.吴道子》。唐玄宗开元年中，裴旻因为家中父母亡故，到吴道子那里，请他答应到天宫在几个墙壁上画鬼神，凭借这几个鬼神赏善罚恶，帮助劝善。吴道子回答说："我长久不动画笔了，您若有意让我画几个鬼神，就为我舞剑一节，剑锋犀利犹如风猛，可以通过舞剑通到阴府幽冥。"裴旻听到这，立即脱去丧服，像平常的装束一样，跑马如飞，左旋右旋，把高剑抛到云空中，剑高数十丈，仿佛一道电光下射。之后裴旻手握剑鞘收剑回套。围观的人达数千人，没有人不惊讶战栗的。吴道子于是握笔在壁上画图。运笔神速有力，风声飒然，确为天下的壮观一景。吴道子平生绘画，都是从这得到的益处。

形容书法、绘画笔势遒劲有力。

4、宾至如归

这个典故载于《左传.襄公三十一年》。春秋时代，郑国大夫子产随郑简公出访晋国。晋平公摆起大国君主的架子，借口为鲁襄公逝世致哀，没有接见。子产命令随行人员把晋国宾馆围墙拆掉，把车马都拉进去。晋国大夫士文伯得报，赶到宾馆问子产："因为我们的国君要接受诸侯和属管的朝拜，所以修建了宾馆，把围墙筑得很厚，大门也造得非常高，其目的是为了让宾客休息好。但是现在你把它们拆毁了，让我们如何来接待宾客呢？你拆墙的目的是什么呢？"子产回答说"由于我们郑国领土面积太少，又处在大国之间，随时都要供给大国索要的贡品。这回我们国君亲自带着财宝来访问贵国，然而却得不到贵国国君的接见。因为不知道被接见的时间，带来的财宝不敢随意地献上，又害怕这些东西日晒夜露。过去晋文公做盟主的时候，住的宫室很简陋，又没有可观望的平台，而把接待诸侯的宾馆建造得又美观又高级，诸侯来到这里，有如同回到自己家里的感觉。但是现在贵国国君住的宫室非常考究，而招待客人住的宾馆却像奴隶住的陋室，大门矮得连车子都进不去，四周还建起了围墙。我们不拆除围墙，那财宝放在哪里呢？献不上这些宝物，不是更加重自己的罪过吗？请问，贵国对我们还有什么要求，假若能早点接受我们的财礼，我们把围墙修好了再回去。"士文伯把子产的这些话向执政大臣赵文子作了汇报，赵文子说："的确是这么回事，我们羞辱了德行，用住过奴隶的房屋去接待他们，这真是罪过。"于是叫士文伯主动去向客人表示歉意，又安排晋平公尽快接见了郑简公，欢迎宴会也搞得很隆重，并且回赠了丰厚的礼品，然后礼貌送他们回国。不长时间，晋国又重新建造了漂亮高档的宾馆。

现通常用此典故形容宾客到这里来就像回到自己家里一样。

5、冰消瓦解

这个典故出自《隋书.杨素传》。杨素是隋朝皇帝杨坚手下的一位近臣，他在帮助杨坚建立隋朝的过程中立下汗马功劳，所以被隋文帝杨坚封为越国公。杨素为人心狠手辣，治军严谨。在他的部队中，只要军令一下，官兵们稍有违抗就遭杀头之祸，而英勇杀敌立功的，能够及时得到封赏进官。所以他打仗取胜的时候很多。隋文帝杨坚的儿子杨广很赏识他的才干，想方设法拉拢他为自己的私人势力。公元604年，杨广阴谋杀父篡位，称炀帝。当这个消息传出后，不少宗室大臣纷纷遣责杨广这种卑鄙的有失天伦之道的行为。汉王杨谅在并州（今山西太原）发兵对抗。杨素得知消息后，在杨广的指令下，亲自率军追击，虽然杨谅人多势众，杨素兵少将弱，但他采取了声东击西、避实就虚等战术，很快以少胜多，攻到并州城下，迫使杨谅兵败投降。战报传到京都之后，隋炀帝很高兴，亲自写了诏书，向杨素全军表示慰问。诏书中称赞杨素战术谋划得当，出其不意，英勇善战，所到之处，"雾廓云除，冰消瓦解。"杨素班师回京后，不久被进封为楚国公。

现一般用此典故比喻某种事物完全消失或崩溃。

7、兵贵神速

这个典故出自《三国志.魏志.郭嘉传》。东汉末年，混居在辽西、辽东、右北平（今辽宁）三个郡的乌桓（古代北方一支少数民族）经常进犯中原，烧杀掠夺，危及当地百妖生活和社会稳定。公元207年，汉丞相曹操亲自率领十万大军北征三郡乌桓，以彻底根除北方的隐患。由于此番出征，曹操的人马和粮草辎重太多，行军速度太慢，走了一个月，才到达易城（今河北雄县）。军师郭嘉见此情况非常着急，就对曹操说："用兵贵在行动特别迅速。我们应该赶紧把大量沉重繁杂的物资和行李卸掉，派出轻骑兵日夜兼程前进，这样才能趁敌不备取得胜利。"曹操采用了他的意见，亲自带领几千名精兵良将轻装北进，终于出其不意地消灭了三郡乌桓。

现通常用此典故说明打伏用兵贵在行动要特别迅速。

8、病入膏肓

这个典故见于《左传.成公十年》。春秋时期，晋景公有一次生了病，请了不少医生也没有治好。听说秦国医生的医术很高明，就派人去秦国请医生。秦桓公选择了一个叫缓的名医去诊治。当缓还没有到宫里的时候，躺在病床上的晋景公做了一个梦，梦见疾病变成两个小人在对话。一个说："缓是个高明的医生，他来了一定会伤害我们，我们躲在哪为好呢？"另一个说："不要怕！我们躲在横膈膜（肓）的上面，心脏（膏）的下面，看他把我们怎么样？"不久，缓到了宫里来为景公诊病。他观察了晋景公的脸色，又号了脉，仔细检查了病情，最后摇摇头说："这病没法治啦！病魔在肓的上面，膏的下面。药力达不到，实在没啥好办法了！"晋景公听见缓说的话正和梦中两个小人商议使用的诡计相符合，便叹了口气说："你诊断对，你真是一位高明的医生啊！"说完，命属下送给缓一笔丰厚的礼物，让他回国去了。过了不久，晋景公真的病死了。

现通常用此典故形容病情十分严重，无法医治。也用来比喻事情出了毛病，到了无法挽回的地步。

9、鞭长莫及

这个典故出自《左传.宣公十五年》。公元前594年，楚国国君楚庄王因左司马申舟去齐国路经宋国被杀，一气之下，发兵攻打宋国。宋国被楚国军队围困了半年，逼得实在没有办法，便向晋国求援。晋国国君晋景公认为，晋国实力较雄厚，不出兵怕世人耻笑，便打算出兵救宋。但是大夫伯宗却不同意出兵。他对晋景公说："我们决不能派救兵去帮宋国打楚国，古语说得好，马鞭子虽长，也不能抽打马肚子，不能去攻击它。楚国现在正是强盛的时期，我们和它相争只能有害无益。即使像江河湖泊都能够容纳污浊之水，山林草丛可以隐藏猛兽毒蛇，就是一块美玉有时也难免有斑点，那么做国君岂不能容忍一时的屈辱呢？"晋景公经过伯宗的开导，认为他说的很有道理，就不派兵救宋了。

现一般用此典故比喻人们在做某件事时，由于受客观因素所限，力量达不到（要求）。

10、伯牙鼓琴

本典故见《吕氏春秋.本味》，另外在《列子.汤间》、《说苑.尊贤》等亦有文字大致相同的记载。春秋时，伯牙善于鼓琴，而钟子期善听琴。伯牙在鼓琴时的思想感情，子期根据琴音便能心领神会。伯牙鼓琴时，如志在高山，钟子期就说："善哉乎鼓琴，巍巍乎若太（泰）山"；志在流水，钟子期便说："善哉乎鼓琴，汤汤乎若流水"。后来，钟子期死去，伯牙就破琴绝弦，不再鼓琴。

后来，人们用"伯牙鼓琴"或"高山流水"等来比喻知音、知己，也有表示琴音及其它作品的高妙。
