记得前几天的一个早上，妈妈送我去上学。只见天空中白茫茫的，被大雾笼罩，而且空气中还有一股浓浓的烟味，呛得我一个劲地咳嗽。我当时心里觉得很奇怪：“为什么雾带有一种呛人的烟味呢？”我好奇地问妈妈。妈妈说：“是因为附近的农民伯伯在焚烧秸秆。”当时，我毫不在意。然而在读了《美丽中国》之后，我才知道焚烧秸秆的危害有这么大，它不仅会污染环境，而且还会因为焚烧而产生的浓烟引发交通事故，直接影响民航、铁路、高速公路的正常运营，对交通安全构成潜在威胁等。
难道秸秆就一点用处也没有吗？通过上网一查，我才发现秸秆还是有许多用处的。秸秆在加工后可以用作动物饲料，也可以用于栽培食用菌，还可以做成沼气供人们利用。
秸秆的用处这么多，我真希望人们不要再随便焚烧秸秆，而是对秸秆加以回收利用，变废为宝。为了保护我们共同的家园—地球，让我们协起手来大声呼吁：“保护环境，勿焚秸秆！”

土地资源是三大地质资源(矿产资源、水资源、土地资源)之一，是人类生产活动最基本的资源和劳动对象。人类对土地的利用程度反映了人类文明的发展，但同时也造成对土地资源的直接破坏，这主要表现为不合理垦植引起的水土流失、土地沙漠化、土地次生盐碱化及土壤污染等，而其中水土流失尤为严重，乃当今世界面临的又一个严重危机。据估计，世界耕地的表土流失量约为230亿吨/年。
有人认为酸雨是一场无声无息的危机，而且是有史以来冲击我们最严重的环境威胁，是一个看不见的敌人。这并非危言耸听。随着工业化和能源消费增多，酸性排放物也日益增多，它们进入空气中，经过一系列作用就形成了酸雨。
