今天全家人都有事出去了，要到很晚才能回家给我做饭，我想正是我大显身手的时候啦，我要给全家人做一盆饺子。

我拿了一些面饼，和以前和好的饺子馅开始包饺子。我先拿了一片面饼，放适量的馅儿，再沾点儿黄酒粘边儿，最后再捏一个花边就完成了。可一会儿放太多馅儿了，面捏不上，一会儿又放少了，不好吃。馅儿宝宝好像总是和我作对。但包着包着，也就慢慢熟练了。很快一大盘精致的饺子就完成了。

更难的要数煮饺子了。我先把水烧开，再把饺子娃娃都丢进锅里，等饺子娃娃喝了很多饮料之后变胖，接着饺子宝宝随着白气泡泡浮出了水面，再煮一会儿。我拿着大铲子，翻来翻去，可是饺子娃娃不听话，一定要烫我的手，又好像她们已经疼的不行了，哗的一下从水里腾空而起跳了出来。我眼疾手快的拿起盘子，“我接，我接，我接接接。”终于一盘香喷喷的饺子做好了。

这时门铃响了，大家都回来了。他们看着这桌上的饺子高兴的说，“你真厉害，都能给我们做饺子了。”大家一边吃一边聊，妈妈说：“你可真能干。”

In the U.S., mother’s day is a holiday celebrated on the second sunday in May. It is a day when children honor their mothers with cards, gifts, and flowers. It was first observed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1907. Long before that, there were days honoring mothers even in ancient Greece. In those days, however, it was Rhea, the mother of the gods who was given honor.

Later, in the 1600s, in England there was an annual observance called "Mothering Sunday". It was celebrated during June, on the fourth sunday. On Mothering Sunday, the servants, who generally lived with their employers, were encouraged to return home and honor their mothers. It was traditional for them to bring a special cake along to celebrate the occasion.

In the U.S., in 1907, Ana Jarvis, from Philadelphia, began a campaign to establish a national mothers day. Jarvis persuaded her mothers church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate mothers day on the second anniversary of her mothers death, which was the second sunday in May. The next year mothers day was again celebrated in Philadelphia. Jarvis and others began a letter-writing campaign to ministers, businessmen, and politicians in their quest to establish a national mothers day. They were successful. In 1914, the American president proclaimed mothers day a national observance that was to be held each year on the second sunday of May.
