The Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year is a great occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year， during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school， and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year， people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs， sheep， cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; coupletsare posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

On the eve of the new year， each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to welcome the new year. On the first day of the new year， almost everyone is dressed in his or her best. 早上，我六点就起床，帮妈妈打扫卫生与整理东西，终于把家里打扫的干干净净，一尘不染。我与爸爸上街去买一块漂亮的骏马图扁，还买一些我喜欢的烟花与炮仗。我们一回到家，就到吃午饭的时间，我们吃好午饭又开始忙碌起来，爸爸开始把买回来的扁挂上去，我帮助爸爸拿工具，妈妈准备过年的东西，爷爷奶奶烧饭做菜，我们大家都忙的不可开交，不一会儿，就到吃晚饭的时间，爷爷奶奶把做好的一盆盆热气腾腾的菜端出来，有鸡、有鸭、有鱼、有肉，也有许多的蔬菜，非常的丰盛。我们一大家子一边吃着晚饭，一边聊着天，爷爷奶奶在新的一年里对我提出几个要求，爸爸妈妈也希望我在新的一年里，学习更加努力有进步。这时爷爷偷偷的把一个红包塞进我的口袋，我心里有一股乐滋滋的感觉，我知道这是爷爷奶奶对我的鼓励，也是给我的一个惊喜。吃好年夜饭，我与爸爸一起搬出一个大大的烟花，准备开始燃放，爸爸点燃烟花的导火线，只听见“啪、啪、啪、啪”的声音，一朵朵美丽的烟花在空中盛开，像一朵朵斑斓的玫瑰花，五光十色、瑰丽无比，在黑得有点神秘的夜空中瞬间展开，又迅速凋零。我们大家都异口同声的说：“好美啊！”

今年的这个春节过得太有意义，我不仅大一岁，还让我过的很快乐，这时，让我想起王安石写的《元日》：爆竹声中一岁除，春风送暖入屠苏。千门万户瞳瞳日，总把新桃换旧符。

啊！这个春节我过的好快乐呀！
