This years summer vacation was most enjoyable. I spent fifteen days helping my grandparents doing farm work in the countryside， where I saw mountains fields covered with green plants. Sometimes I went swimming in the river to the west of the village， the water in which was quite clear.

I kept a diary every day. Besides doing farm work， I help the children in the neighborhood with their lessons. All of them showed interest in English. They could read write wellthey could hardly understand simple English. So every day in the morning I spent about two hours helping them improve their listening spoken English. 今天天刚蒙蒙亮，我便起了床。做好了作业，和妈妈一起来到了农贸市场。“菜场真热闹啊!”

我们先来到了蔬菜区。只见每个蔬菜摊前陈列着许许多多的蔬菜。有浅绿色的扁豆，有深绿色的黄瓜、青椒，有紫色的茄子，有又白又大的萝卜，还有鲜红的西红柿，黄色的玉米……颜色各异，美丽极了!我最爱吃青椒，妈妈说：先看青椒吧!青椒看外形分：圆椒和尖椒，圆椒肯定不辣，买圆的。我们边走边看，有个摊位上的玉米吸引了我的视线，只见有的像一个孕妇，挺着一个大肚子。有的像一个橄榄球……摊主见我留步立刻说：“买一点吧!这可是不打农药的纯正绿色食品。”妈妈说：“称点也好，吃多了精食，也该吃吃粗粮了。”
