3、马、牛、狗与人

宙斯创造了人，没给人长寿，却给了人聪明才智。在冬天，人给自己建造好了房屋，舒适地住在里面。有一天，天气异常库冷，还下着雨，马冻得再忍受不住了，便跑到人那里，请求让它住在屋内避寒。人说除非马同意把它的部分寿命送给人，否则就不让它进门。马高兴地答应了。不久之后，牛也忍受不了寒冬，跑来找人。那人同样地说，除非牛能把部分寿命送给人，不然就不收留它。牛献出了部分寿命后，被收留下来。最后，狗冻得几乎要死了，也跑来把自己的部分寿命送给人，得到住处。这样，人在宙斯所给的年岁内，纯洁而善良；到了马给的年岁，就吹牛说大话，自命不凡；到了牛给的年岁，开始干事业；而到狗给的年岁，便容易发脾气，动不动就大吵大闹。

4、孔雀和天后赫拉

这故事是说那些因自己行善而吃苦的人们。

6、行人与真理

有个人在荒凉的野外赶路，他看见一个女人眼睛盯着地下，独自站在路旁，便问她，“你是谁？”她说：“我是真理。”他又问道：“你为什么不住在那繁华热闹的城市，而住在这荒凉的野外呢？”她答道：“古时候，谬误只在少数人哪里，可是现在你无论到哪里都听到谬误。”

这是说，当到处都充满谬误时，真理就远离人们无处存身了。
