寒假里，我读了《羊脂球》一书，这本书让我受益匪浅。

金钱、利益……种种可怕的力量，使真善美从人们身上淡化，使他们的灵魂逐渐扭曲。永远无法忘记出自短篇小说之王——莫泊桑笔下，那被刻画得栩栩如生的人物：善良的西蒙爸爸——铁匠菲利浦·雷米;不舍得花一分一毛自己的钱，却糟蹋他人的金钱的都市小市民——奥莱依太太;不懂得孝敬父母的公务员——卡拉望夫妇;贪婪自私、爱慕虚荣的贵族官僚——鸟先生……不同的阶级，不同的形象，不同的特点，一个个都令人感慨万分。当然，还有那最令我难忘的一位妓女——羊脂球。

在从鲁昂逃亡吉艾卜的狭小马车上，高贵的人们谁都没有为自己准备一点儿食物。一路上，因为战乱，没有人做生意、没有人愿意把自己的食物与别人分享。车上的人们都很饿，但是他们找不到食物。就在这时，羊脂球拿出了自己所带的食物，开始吃自己起来，但并没有邀请别人。我一开始觉得她很自私，但当看完整部小说，我便认为她这样的做法是正确的。那些贵妇在一开始根本不会接受她的好意，她们对羊脂球的歧视越来越强烈，甚至是恨她。她们恨不得把她从车上扔下去。这种“恨”，的是因为羊脂球有食物，而自己却因为拒绝向一个妓女开口而不得不饿着肚子看着她吃。于是又是鸟老板，他的一句话给了羊脂球开口邀请的机会。他和他的夫人成了羊脂球提篮的第二个光顾者。在鸟老板的“带领”下，一行十人很快就风卷残云地吃完了提篮里足够羊脂球一个人吃三天的食物。他们依旧恨，恨这只提篮为什么不再大些。

但事情过后，众人立刻换了副嘴脸，对羊脂球不闻不问。在途中也没有分享给羊脂球一点儿食物，羊脂球气地一句话也说不出来。小说便在羊脂球的呜咽声中结束。

羊脂球就那样地被那些人当成牺牲品送给敌军从而换的自由，然后又像毫无作用的东西一样扔掉。读完后的我便为羊脂球打抱不平，对于那些所谓的上层绅士的愤怒。难道妓女就没有自己的尊严吗?而那些上流的人又真的高尚到哪里去呢?相反，我觉得那些自认为上流的人才是真正的肮脏、低贱!当他们点头哈腰地对待敌军，却对自己的同胞冷嘲热讽时，我想，他们的灵魂一定已经肮脏到了极致。

短篇小说大王莫泊桑用一个身份低贱的妓女与上流人士做对比，反衬出那些人虚伪、丑陋的本质，揭露并讽刺了当时人与人的关系是建立在金钱地位上的虚伪的友谊与情意。也难怪《羊脂球》一书深受广大读者喜爱呢。

人人平等，无论是何等地位的人，都不应随意去随意践踏他人尊严，他们的热爱祖国的情感并不会比高尚人士少，我们不能根据职业来判定或看轻一个人。让大家都知道：灾难面前，人人平等!
