The Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

Competition is a common phenomenon in our society . We compete when we play games, we try to do better than others in our study, and there is constant competition for jobs, fame, wealth and so forth. In this case, the product will be better and better as time goes by and the economy will be better as well. To the other hand, the progress of product is beneficial to consumers. That is also the reason why governments control  monopoly which will extinguish competition.

Additionally, the competition in an organisation is good for the organisation. Due to the emulation of individuals, everyone desire to be better than others. Under the competition, every one will fulfil their potential and the organisation will maximise its human resource to achieve its goal.

In conclusion, competition is good for not just individuals but also the entire society. Accompanied with competition, the world will be better.

Which is better, shopping online or traditional shopping? Different people

have different attitudes towards it. Some people think that online shopping is

very convenient, for it can save them a lot of time and energy. It’s especially

helpful for those who are always busy with their work. Besides, through the

internet, they can get more information about the commodities they want to buy

and buy a lot of things that cannot be bought in local places.

Nevertheless, I’m not keen on online shopping at all, since most

commodities which are bought online are of poor quality. Once we are cheated, we

may find it difficult to make a complaint. Thus we should take more cautions

when shopping online.

In my eyes, I prefer traditional shopping, because I can choose what I

really need. Also, I can know the quality of every commodity more clearly. Even

if there’s something wrong with the commodities, I can still ask the sellers to

compensate for my loss.

The generation gap refers to the difference in attitude toward thing or the

lack of understanding between young people and older folks.

In families as well as in society, the young and the older may not agree

with each other on this and that from time to time. Young people would llke to

make as much money as they could and spend as much money as they could earn

while older folks are easily satisfied with what they earn and save as much as

possible. Young people llke the exciting and deafening pop music while older

folks prefer melodious folk-songs or classic music. A boy and a glrl today may

fall in love with each other as quick as lightning, while their parents or grand

parents might trudge over a long distance before they kissed each other and

became lovers when they were young.

However, we should not be amazed at the generation gap,for it is quite

natural in the development of society. The world is a changing world, in which

everything keeps changing, generations of human beings included. And changes

lead to progress.

在常人看来，竞争与合作是一对“敌对兄弟”，“一山不容二虎”嘛!这一点被眼下我国葡萄酒市场异常激烈的竞争所印证。从市场之争到标准之争，从品牌之争到原产地命名之争，在葡萄酒这个不大的领地王国里，刀光剑影，杀声阵阵，正演绎着一场场悲壮的战争。

固然，市场经济条件下，同行竞争在所难免。有不少人认为，“同行是冤家”，竞争双方似乎注定是利益截然对立的“冤家”对头。竞争就是不能有合作，不是你死，就是我活。同行之间，难道非得势不两立、拼个你死我活不可吗?

其实，树有长短，人分高低，水有清浊，面分丑俊，芸芸众生忙碌在大千世界，他们都离不开竞争与合作。竞争与合作永远是紧密相连的一对联体兄弟，是两种不同的人际互动关系。

我们通常说的竞争，是两个或两个以上的个人或群体，在某项活动中力争胜过对方的行为。即双方争夺一个目标，且只有一方得胜，一方失败。合作是两个或两个以上的个人或群体，为实现共同目标在某项活动中联合协作的行为。双方有一致的目标，而且双方共享结果。对于企业也是如此。物竞天择，优胜劣汰不仅是自然界的法则，也是市场经济的基本规律。竞争才能激发动力、增强活力，促使企业不敢稍许懈怠，不断推进科技进步，改善经营管理，降低成本，提高质量，增加效益。竞争是企业成长壮大的根本途径，也是一个行业能够健康发展的前提，搞市场经济不能没有竞争。

然而，竞争离不开合作。参与合作的企业将比那些独行侠 式的企业占有更大的优势。因为有合作才能优势互补、取长补短、收拢五指、攥紧拳头、形成合力。马克思说得好，协作不仅可提高个人的生产力，并且是“创造一种生产力”，产生一加一大于二的神奇效果。美国可口可乐公司与百事可乐公司曾为了争市场而展开了半个世纪的激烈竞争。可它们的竞争是“未必要打倒敌人”。 当大家对百事可乐—可口可乐之战兴趣盎然时，双方都是赢家，因为饮料大战引起了全球消费者对可乐的关注，大家都来喝可乐。可乐大战给我们的启迪是，并非只有“消灭”对手，才是促进自身发展的惟一途径。在有些情况下，接受对手的存在并善待竞争对手，也同样能够促进自身的发展。

目前，我国葡萄酒业东西地区的竞争逐渐加剧。西部企业利用价格作为竞争手段以低价进攻市场;而东部老品牌企业利用品牌优势不甘示弱、积极迎战。在你来我往的激烈市场竞争中出现了“煮酒论英雄”等不和谐的音符，有的企业使用造谣、诽谤等违法手段去中伤对方，有的不惜付出巨大的代价，“舍命”相拼。同室操戈，相煎何急?在这种残酷的竞争中肯定没 有赢家。河蚌相争，渔翁得利，在“东西对抗”的阴影下，洋酒露出了微笑。

要彻底扭转这种局面，必须学会合作，在公平竞争的同时，保持良好的合作态势，逃脱愈演愈烈的降价漩涡。再比如“神州”和“万家乐”是旗鼓相当的两家大型热水器生产厂家。“神州”的广告语为“款款神州，万家追求”，而“万家乐”的广告语为“万家乐崛起于神州”。他们各自的广告语中都包含了对方的产品品牌。这样双方都能扬名获利。你把客户送到我这里，我把客户送到你那里。两种热水器迅速走进千家万户，为两家企业带来丰厚利润。他们在竞争中合作，实现了双赢。

实践证明，既竞争又合作，就能突破孤军奋战的局限，把自身优势与其他企业的优势结合起来，把双方的长处最大限度地发挥出来，既提高自己也提高别人的竞争力，实现双赢或多赢，才是最终目的。

On October 6th, 2013, I went Xiao Meisha with my fellows to spend a nice seaside holiday. On our arriving at Xiao Meisha, we were all filled with excitement, since this was our first trip to the seaside. Xiao Meisha was an excellent seaside resort indeed. There the sky was clean and bright, the wind was mild and pleasant, the sandy beach was soft and comfortable, and the sea was so magnificent. We felt refreshed at that moment. It seemed as if we traveled in the heaven.

We did many kinds of activities at the seaside. Some of us went swimming in the sea; some went surfing; some dived underwater; some had a walk along the sea; some played sports on the beach. But I just took some photos of the beautiful sea scenery. All of us had a happy time.

In the evening, when it was about the time for leaving, we were unwilling to go, because the beautiful sea scenery deeply attracted us. We all expected for our next coming. So I could say that the seaside holiday was both relaxing and wonderful.

Last week, my English teacher gave us a task, she asked us to form a small

group, each group was made up of five students, the groups need to do a

research, it is about how much people know about foreign country. In my group,

there are three girls and two boys, at first, we did not know what to do, then I

suggested our group take the cooperated work. As I and the girl are good at

writing paper, so the two of us decided to design the questions, and the other

three students are so active, so they like to ask people the questions. The

research went go so well, we finished it in two days, thanks to the teamwork, we

did well on the task. The teacher praised my group, I have learned the

importance of cooperation, since then, I will considerate other people’s

feelings.

一、遣词方面：用词要贴切而丰富，善用短语 ,词汇是语言的建筑材料，文章的好坏，选词很关键，如果用词精湛，就会使文章“亮”起来。

1、措辞要贴切具体

试比较下面句子：

A man is walking down the street.

A man is strolling down the street.

通过比较可以看出，前一句不如后一句表达得具体、生动。一个词如果内涵越具体，那么在特定的场景中恰当地使用它，就会收到意想不到的效果。很多同学写作时常随便用一个很笼统的词来描述一个具体事物或人，如 a nice man给人感觉很笼统空泛，我们可以用很多有个性的、具体的词描绘一个人，如 generous(大方的，慷慨的)，humorous(幽默的)，smart(漂亮的，潇洒的)，kind-hearted，warm-hearted，hospitable(好客的,招待周到的)，gentle(文雅的)，optimistic(乐观的)，easy-going(随和的)，spirited(英勇的)，cultivated(有教养的)，manly(有男子气概的)，knowledgeable(知识渊博的)等等。

2、要善于运用短语

短语用得好，会给评卷员留下深刻印象。如：

When he was a child，he wanted to learn everything.( 普通)

When he was a child，he had a strong appetite(胃口) for knowledge.(高级)

3、要避免汉语思维

用词要符合英语习惯，避免汉语思维的影响，如某些名词和动词搭配已约定俗成，不能随意打乱其搭配习惯，否则会显得生硬和词不达意。如汉语中的“学到知识”，英语中就不能说“learn knowledge”，而要说acquire knowledge (获得知识) 。类似的动宾结构还有achieve success (获得成功)，gain reputation (获得声誉)，attain ones end (达到目的)等。

二、造句方面：句式要准确而多变，活用复合句

简单句用得太多，会造成文章读起来乏味。在评卷员看来，同样意思的内容，能够运用比较复杂的句式结构来表达，当然会认为其运用语言的能力要比只会用简单句来表达要强，评分自然就高。

1、巧用非谓语动词

运用非谓语动词，可使文句看起来更简洁，使语言更加丰富多彩，重点更加突出，增加文采。如：

I covered my ears，trying to keep the noise out，but failed. (2004广东卷)

2、巧用with复合结构

“with+名词/代词+现在分词/过去分词/形容词/副词/介词”结构，常作伴随状语以增加被描绘内容的生动性和情感性，使文章读起来更简洁明了。试比较：

I couldnt go on studying because there was so much noise troubling me. (普通)

I couldnt go on studying with so much noise troubling me. (高级)

3、巧用复合句

高考评分标准强调使用语法结构的数量和复杂性，鼓励考生尽量使用较复杂的结构，并且对由此产生的错误采取了宽容的态度。如果恰当运用各类从句，就会使文章出彩。

如：(定语从句) Whats more，people have easy access to the Internet，which enables them to send and receive e-mails whenever they like.

4、巧用倒装句、感叹句、强调句、虚拟语气句等

使用这些句式可使文章化平淡为生动，加强语气，使评卷老师感受作者的强烈情感。

(倒装句)Only in this way can Internet Bars be well used by people.

(感叹句)I thought，“How hard mum is working! She must be very tired.”

5、巧用排山倒海句

如能运用一个个排比句、对偶句、不定式或短语，可令文章增色不少，会给评卷员眼前一亮的感觉。如：

The purpose of the program are to make our school more beautiful，to make the air cleaner and fresher，and to turn our school into a better place for us to study and live in.

三、谋篇方面：结构要清晰而流畅，巧用过渡词

众所周知，语言的最高层次不是传统语法所说的句子，而是语篇。语篇指的是一系列连接的语段或句子构成的语言整体。一篇好的文章不但句子正确，要点齐全，更重要的是有效地使用了语句间的连接成分。因此，恰当使用好连接性的词语和句子，是使作文获得高分的一个重要因素。

下列各组表示列举或补充的短语或句式非常实用，对高考写作很有帮助：

(1)Firstly...，secondly...，thirdly...，finally...

(2)In the first place...，in the second place...，in the third place...，lastly...

(3)to begin with...，then...，furthermore...，finally...

(4)to start with...，next...，in addition...，finally...

(5)first and foremost...，besides...，last but not least...

(6)most important of all...，moreover...，finally...

如果只有两层意思，可选用下列两组中的任一组：

(1)On the one hand...，on the other hand...

有人说："合作与竞争是一对双生的花朵，他们互相依赖又互相矛盾。”那么，作为我们应该如何做呢?

我们应该做到在合作中竞争，在竞争中合作。

物竞天择，适者生存。大自然将这个法则照映在所有生物的心理。如果有一些违背这个法则的事情出现，那么，就会有生物为此付出惨重的代价。在几亿年以前，长颈鹿的脖子并没有像现在这么长。那时，树木很茂盛他们并不需要长长的脖子就可以很轻松地吃到树叶。然而，很多树慢慢消失了。长颈鹿开始死亡。后来，长颈鹿为了吃到高处的树叶开始慢慢变长。而那些脖子较短的长颈鹿就死掉了。这就是竞争，只有适应自然的生物才能很好的顺应自然，更好的生活下来。而那些违逆自然的生物也就慢慢消失在自然之中了。

学会合作，也要学会竞争。只有那样，才能让我们抓住机会，迎接挑战。
