扬州以运河兴而兴，以运河败而败，所以运河是扬州的核心。相传吴国的吴王夫差开辟了邗沟——这就是最先的运河。后来隋炀帝为了观琼花正式开辟了大运河，就是现在我们看到的这条运河。扬州也从那时(公元589年)，正式称为扬州。扬州以前还有过“广陵”、“江都”、“吴州”等称谓呢!

典型的盐商住宅是坐落在扬州东圈门地宫第一街街北14号的汪氏小苑。它是扬州保存最为完整的清末民初大型盐商住宅之一。全苑占地3000余平方米，遗存老屋近百间，建筑面积也有1600余平方米。

看到了吧，知道这些盐商们有多厉害了吧。说直接了吧，就是家产无数。在那时候盐商们合起来交的税，可以够你活几世了。“不信?”不信，我就给你们讲讲。在以扬泰为中心的两淮盐场，在清代康熙、乾隆时期上缴的盐税占了清朝全国财政收入的四分之一。在当时曾有“两淮盐税甲天下”之说。

We had English final exam yesterday. I feelvery sad now because I think I didn’t do well in the exam. Firstly, just amoment ago I realized that my composition in the exam stayed from the point,because I misunderstood the meaning of Green Campus. I thought Green Campus isonly the color of the campus. So I totally got away from the point. Inaddition, time was not enough for me. Eventually, I wrote some answers on theanswer sheet without thinking. Thus I’m afraid I can’t pass the exam. I am nowvery anxious.

这个学期呢，我打算改掉一些坏习惯。我是语文课代表，可是我的一个坏习惯总是改不过来：我上课听得很牢，可老师发问时，其实我一般都能答上来，可是我胆小，不敢大胆举手发言。就算老师说：“答错没关系。”我还是不敢举手。所以在这个学期里，我一定要尽力改掉这个跟随我五年的坏习惯。

首先，我打算每堂课至少要举一次手，这样累积下来，一个学期我就可以把这个坏习惯改过来了。这样，老师就可以喜欢我了。

还有，这学期我们的数学课本，别的同学都已经学过三分之一了，所以，我已经比别的同学落后了一点，正因为这样，我一定要更努力，更加油，这样我的学习成绩才不会落后。现在，我要开始做更多的课外练习，我决心不会被一个个难题给打败，我一定会用我的努力证明，我会赶上去的，让老师对我刮目相看。

另外我要改掉一个坏脾气，就是别的同学来问我题目时，我总是管自己做自己的事，不听他的话，我觉得这样就是不尊敬别人。换个角度来考虑，假如是我来问问题，被人拒绝是多么难过的事呀!

我还有一个缺陷，那就是体育不好，每次到了期末，成绩都是及格。因为我平时少锻炼，才导致体育成绩不够好，所以在这个充满阳光的春天，我要多锻炼，做好各项保健工作。只要我天天这样，我想我应该可以再升一级。

好了，不说了，我的新学期计划可以说上个三天三夜呢!我现在要做的就是改掉坏习惯、坏脾气等，这样才可以做一个全优生。

荷花池公园小巧玲珑，景色别致。进入公园，映入眼帘的是公园中央一个巨大的池塘，池塘四周种着一排排杨柳。春天一到，这些柳树便长出嫩绿的枝叶，微风吹过，它们便摇摆起来，像少女梳理自己的长发。

小鸟也飞上了枝头，唱出了一首首春天的赞歌。池塘里随处躺着一片片圆圆的荷叶，像一个个芭蕉扇漂浮在水中。远处是一块绿色的大草坪，那是孩子们游戏的乐园。他们追逐着、打闹着、欢笑着，整个公园立刻成了欢乐的世界。

夏天，一朵朵粉红色的荷花竞相开放，她们就像芭蕾舞少女，踮起了脚尖，在碧绿荷叶的映衬下，显得亭亭玉立。池塘里的小金鱼都游过来了，在荷叶下面嬉戏打闹，水面荡起了层层涟漪，像是荷花正在跳芭蕾舞呢！

晚上，劳累了一天的人们都过来纳凉休息。他们有的绕着池塘散步，有的坐在石阶上下棋，有的在柳树下打太极，阿姨们都跳起了广场舞，真是热闹非凡。

这就是我的家乡，一个风景秀丽，人们安居乐业的文明古都。
