从此以后，汲黯的官职再也没有提升。他当主爵都尉的时候，公孙弘、张汤都还是不起眼的小官，后来，他们一个劲儿住上升，公孙弘当上了丞相，张汤做上了御史大夫，可他汲黯还蹲在原地没动窝。有一天，汲黯对武帝说，陛下使用群臣，跟码劈柴一样，是“后来者居上”啊！汉武帝当然听得出这是发牢骚。于是，转脸对臣下们说：“人真是不能不学习啊！你们听汲黯说话，越来越离谱了！”

故事出自《史记汲郑列传》。成语“后来居上”，往往指后起的可以胜过先前的。和汲黯说这话的原意，大不相同。

I went to visit the Great Wall with my friends during the summer vacation.

We went there by bus. It took us about two hours to get there. It was hot and

windy that day. There were thousands of people. When we saw a group of

foreigners,we went up and talked with them. We told them lots of history of the

Great Wall. They were very surprised when they saw that our English were

exellent and we knew a lot about the Great Walls history. They thanked us a lot

and we really had a good time. We felt proud of ourselves and being Chinese.

扬州即是秀丽的城，又是历史名城，古老的运河穿城而过。扬州的瘦西湖更是闻名天下，当你走到瘦西湖一眼就能看到湖边吐翠的正在婆娑起舞，岸上的就像一片火红的朝霞，清澈见底的湖水碧波荡漾。其中最美的要数五亭桥了，它像一朵莲花盛开在湖面上，因此它也叫“莲花桥”。瘦西湖让人留恋往返，秀丽的自然风景把扬州装扮的更加美丽

扬州的美食更是让人垂涎三尺，阳澄湖的大闸蟹人人皆知，红楼宴的三丁包、翡翠烧麦、和千层油糕在扬州被称作“点心三绝”。富春楼的早餐绝对精品，各色小吃有甜，有咸，油香而不腻，松脆不硬，细嫩不软，美味不鲜，还有淮扬菜系的头流传全国各地，回味无穷
