I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. 暑假的一天，太阳偷偷地躲起来了，树梢在风中向人们微微招手。难得休息的爸爸说要带我去北门河钓鱼，我高兴得跳了起来。放假这么多天，天天呆在家里闷得慌。我迅速地找出鱼竽鱼篓，爸爸在一家渔具店里买了一些蚯蚓。准备工作做好了，我们兴致勃勃地到北门河。

我酝酿了一下，把力气集中到右臂上，用力把鱼线甩向河中心。河面上微波荡漾，看得我眼酸，还是没有鱼上钩，我气得一屁股坐在石头上。爸爸说：“钓鱼要有耐心，要专心。”我气愤地说：“鱼是不是要欺负小孩呀?”爸爸笑着说：“它的你一样爱玩，这会儿它们出去玩了，等玩饿了就会回来的。”我觉得爸爸说得有道理，我又站起来目不转睛地注视着鱼漂。一会儿，我看鱼漂好像动了一下，我高兴地大叫起来：“鱼上钩了。”我等它再动一下就迅速提起鱼竽，惊喜地一看，一条细小棍子鱼。我虽然有点失望，但心里还是高兴的。

做家务使我快乐。一天，爸爸和妈妈刚走，我看到又脏而又乱的家，就想到了一个好主意。我先把桌子收拾好，再把碗刷好。然后再拿抹布把家具上的灰尘擦了擦。再呢就是扫地了，扫完地后，我又拿起抹布来擦地了，这擦地也是有窍门的：1擦地是要有次序，一个砖块一个砖块地擦，这样就不会有没擦的地方了。2要先擦前再擦后，这样就不会踩到自己擦过的地方了。3有时，有些东西很难擦掉，这就要用我的方法了。先把手放在胸前的下方，然后前腿弓后腿蹬，最后再把手上的抹布向前一推，地上就干净多了。我再也不是以前那个娇气的小公主了。今天，我感到了劳动的快乐。

The Olympic Opening Ceremony was an international event and the whole world was watching! The event was held in a stadium designed to seat a large group of people.

Then, the other athletes followed by nation in the alphabetical order of the host country’s language. The host country’s athletes came last. The chief of state of the host country declared the games open, followed by the raising of the Olympic Flag. Music was played and fireworks were set off in salute. Then, doves were released into the air as a symbol of peace. Runners in cross-country relays brought in the Olympic torch. Planes and ships transported the Olympic torch to each country that lies between Greece and the host country. The most exciting moment of the Olympic ceremony was when the torch entered the stadium and lit the Olympic Flame. The Flame was kept burning until the end of the Olympic games.
