I have stayed in shanghai alone for a week. it’s time for me to go to my

real home—it is in beijing. my parents are waiting for me. although outside is

no matter how beautiful, beijing is still my home. in fact, there is many fresh

things. like red bayberries. in the afternoon, i took a bus to beijing. i was

very unlucky that my mp3 was stolen. i was very sad. i didn’t know why thieves

went to steal other’s things. why don’t they hunt for a job? i don’t why! i hope

there is no thief in our motherland.

New Year:

Chinese New Year (Simplified Chinese: 春节, or 农历新年; Traditional Chinese: 春节, or 农历新年; pinyin: Chūnjié, or Nónglì xīnnián), or the Spring Festival/Lunar New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. The Chinese New Year period lasts for 15 days, beginning on the first day of the first lunar month (正月 Zheng Yue) of the Chinese calendar. The holiday period ends with 元宵节 （Yuan Xiao Jie), on the 15th day of the festival.

It is possible that the beginning of the year began with month 1 during the Xia Dynasty, month 12 during the Shang Dynasty, and month 11 during the Zhou Dynasty in China, but intercalary months were added after month 12 during both the Shang Dynasty according to surviving oracle bones and the Zhou Dynasty according to Sima Qian. The first Emperor of China Qin Shi Huang changed the beginning of the year to month 10 in 221 BC. Whether the New Year was celebrated at the beginning of these months or at the beginning of month 1 or both is unknown. In 104 BC, Emperor Wu established month 1 as the beginning of the year where it remains.

According to legend, in ancient China, nian ("Nyan"), a man-eating beast from the mountains, could infiltrate houses silently to prey on humans. The people later learned that nian was sensitive to loud noises and the color red, so they scared it away with explosions, fireworks and the liberal use of the color red. So guo nian actually means surviving the nian. These customs led to the first New Year celebrations.

Chuxi or 除夕 in Mandarin Chinese. Chu means "get rid of" and xi is the day of the legendary man-eating beast, nian, that preys once a year on New Year Eve. When nian arrived, people used firecrackers to scare him away. Once nian ran away, people joined together to celebrate for another year of safe life.

The food in Shanghai disagree me. I think the food in Beijing is the most

delicious. Seafood in Beijing is very fresh. Prawns in restaurant are all alive.

And there are many food that you can’t see in other cities. It is very cheap

that you eat seafood in Beijing. The less money you pay, the more enjoyable you

are. Maybe my stomach is ill. Whatever food I eat, I am still thin. And I am too

thin, I want to be a litter fatter. So I must eat more.

I didnt go anywhere today. I stayed at home doing my homework and helping my

mother with housework. I realised it was not easy to do so much housework allby

oneself. I should help mother more in the future.

In the east of China,there is a small city---Haimen.I was born

there.Today,I am telling you about my hometown.

Haimen is not far from Shanghai.Its at the mouth of the Changjiang

River.Haimen is a modern city.There are lots of high buildings in it.Most of us

live in flats.We like to live in flats because we can be close to our friends.In

the center of Haimen,there are many shops.You can buy some nice things

here.Things in most shops arent expensive.You can pay a little money and they

are yours.

My hometown is a beautiful city.On each of the roads,there are some big

trees and nice flowers.The roads are also very clean.They make people happy and

comfortable.The seasons here are very nice.I like autumn best.Its neither hot

nor cold.A poem says “Flyer of summer come to my window to sing,then fly

away.And yellow leaves of autumn,which have no songs,just fall there with a

sign.” Its very cool.

I love Haimen.Its a nice place to live.Welcome to my hometown.

It was the eighth day of our summer holiday.I felt good.I felt I am free.My

parents went to camping.So I live alone but I dont feel lonely.I stayed at home

and watched TV.I wrote an English daily composition.It was my homework.Today, I

have slept for 14 hours.I thought I was very tired.It was time for dinner.I must

Today is Friday. It is my thirteenth birthday. I got up very early in the

I like the program" Animal World" . First of all, I like animals, especially small animals. Secondly, the host is able to make the program lively and interesting. The end of the summer， should have a good rest! But my mother is very busy. As the daughter of course I want to help my mother to do some. Early in the morning I got up， washed the dishes， sweep the floor， cooking and so on， at noon， I tired， lying on the bed， fan fan， more fortable.

The hot sun is like our enthusiasm, because no matter how hot the weather is, we still keep on studying English hard.

Today, the chinese teacher taught us some English songs. I like the song which is called ”seasons in the sun” very much. We all lost ourselves in the beautiful voice. Today our theme is youth. Now many students of Grade 9 are under too much pressure. They always feel too tired to listen to the teachers carefully in class.
