暑假的一天，我来到乡下太太家，那里对我来说最有趣的东西就是大柴灶了。灶的上面架有两口大铁锅，中间还装有一个可以热水的铜罐，下面是两个方方正正的灶膛，一个灶膛里搁着长长的钳子、铲子。另一个灶膛里有很多树叶烧成的灰，黑漆漆的。尽管现在太太家也不使用这柴灶了，在我的强烈要求下，我们还是利用了最古老的烧饭方式。

我非常兴奋，就连我的小跟班——弟弟也很高兴，因为这是我们唯一可以正大光明玩火的机会了。

我先拿起弟弟给我的干稻草，用打火机把稻草点燃，小心翼翼地放进大柴灶里，再加进薄薄的木片，火就熊熊的燃起来了！之后，可以放进大一些的木柴，火就会越烧越旺，发出噼噼啪啪的声音，似乎有几个小孩，躲在大火里玩耍呢！

想着想着，柴灶里的火渐渐熄灭了，只剩下几块黑里透红的炭，时不时会一闪一闪地冒出亮光，就像天上的小星星在向我们招手。

看着这火红火红的炭，我不由地想起白居易写的：“伐薪烧炭南山中。满面尘灰烟火色，两鬓鬓苍苍十指黑”的卖炭翁。

“火呢，火呢”忽然听妈妈在催我上火，我只顾着自己观察玩弄，完全忘记了灶台上的妈妈还在烧菜，于是我冲忙又夹了木头进去。不一会功夫，我汗流浃背，满脸发烫，喉咙还干巴巴的，心里想，比起妈妈的孩童生活，我现在的生活真是比蜜还要甜呀！
