It is widely noted that lots of traditional culture is disappearing along

with the development of technology. Many ancient architectures and traditional

ways of living have been deserted. It seems that the traditional culture and

craftsmanship will be replaced in this modern era.

The following reasons can account for the above phenomenon. Firstly,

traditional technologies are always considered ineffective while the new

sciences are always highly efficient, because modern science and technology

facilitate both our daily and academic life a lot, with which we can save much

money and time. Secondly, it is costly to protect the traditional culture,

especially the maintenance and repair of the historical buildings.

In my opinion, although traditional culture is an ancient heritage, it

couldnt keep pace with the development of society. It is the tide of history

that the traditional culture and technology will no doubt be eliminated in the

This is our school library . It s openfrom 8:30 to 11:30 in the morning

and from 1:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon . It s not verylarge . It has only

three assistants and about two thousand books . The assistants are friendly and

the books are interesting . So we often come here after class . From thelibrary

, you can borrow two books at a time , and keep them for two weeks . In its

reading room , there are tables and chairs . There you can do your homework or

read the magazines .

Now in some places of our country, a number of people have been cutting down the trees in the forests because they need wood and more farmland. The areas of forests are getting smaller and smaller. For the young couples whose ideas are traditional,being like to own a big family,they do like have a second baby,but they can only hang back under the pressure of the cruel reality .For the nation,if it demand contradictions between ageing and low fertility relieved,it should entirely relieve the control of having a second single baby,which will rise the ratio of population steadily.The more important is to have most people share the gain of Reform and Openness,to solve the problem of housing loan of people,turning the commercial residential building into welfare building,to improve and perfect the service system of the society,to improve the medical security ,to narrow the gap between the wealthy and poor,to raise the pay of people.Then, the government needn’t to encourage people to do anything,and they would to have more babies all themselves.

For individual ,if you want a second baby and you are rich ,while your parents have old-age pension and could help bring up baby for you,you may as well have another one.

But if you are in pressure of living,while you parents have no retired pension and are in poor health,you’d better concentrate all your energies on your only baby ,and pay no attention to matter of the second baby ,in which it is the best choice for either you or your baby.

I can well remember an incident that happened on a rainy Sunday afternoon。 I was on my way to the bookstore and was waiting for the green light at a crossing when a girl of about ten was knocked down by a passing car， which drove off quickly。 A man immediately rushed to the girl to give her first aid and I joined in without hesitation。 Luckily she was not badly injured and we sent her to the nearest hospital。 Compared with the escaped driver， I am proud of what I did。
