“一心向善”，乃为立人之本：只有心地善良、“持善心、行善事”、做好人，才会有好的前程(这是当然了，谁会选一个‘心狠手辣’、‘不择手段’的人呢?找工作是，生活中也是)。

“品德兼优”，乃为为人处世之本：品德好，修养好，人际关系、发展前程才会好(试想一下：如果一个人的品德不好，那么他的修养也不会好，自然，会带动他的家庭、别人的家庭、整个社会甚至发展到整个国家，多可怕，是不是?)。

A brave 9-year-old is recovering in hospital after he wrestled a 9-foot, 400lb alligator off him with his bare hands - and he now plans to make a necklace from a tooth doctors found embedded in a wound on his back.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY

The secret of success (The key to success) is not so much money as a strong will. A great man is one who has a strong will and an indomitable spirit. In other words, if a man does not have a strong will to win (get) the final victory, he will never succeed in his life. He is no more than a failure.

It is quite obvious that there is no difficult thing (nothing difficult) in the world. if you make up your mind to do it, you will certainly accomplish your end. That stands to reason.

今天，我的心情特别好，因为妈妈要带我们去逛街。走啊走，便走到了超市，我们走了上去，上了二楼，那是书店，里面的东西琳琅满目。

啊!没想到这里也有花种。姐姐一看到这些花种，就动不了了。无奈啊!谁叫他是名副其实的“花痴”呢。我也买了几本新颖的作文书和世界未解之谜，这些都比较出名，也适合我，内容引人入胜，我一时间流连忘返。

我们来到了市场，这里竟然新开了一家宠物店，五彩斑斓会说话的鹦鹉，毛发雪白雪白的兔子，还有大拇指大小的鲨鱼，这是一种特殊的品种，不知道把手指放进去它会不会咬我，当然，这种事可不能尝试。不过，我什么都没有买，我连自己都养不活还想养它，那不是“一尸两命”吗!

在这过程中，我最高兴的不是买了几件衣服，吃了几个包子，最高兴的是，我遇到了他。我的同学，只见他亲昵的向我打招呼，从毕业那年到现在，已经三年了，可我还是第一眼就认出了他，因为他是我的朋友，无论过了几年，我们之间的友谊从来没有改变。当见到他的那一刻，我有很多话想对他说，却又不知道从何说起。快乐的时光总是那么短暂，我们依依不舍的分别了。

Helen Keller once wrote about these early days.

One beautiful spring morning I was alone in my room, reading. Suddenly a wonderful smell in the air made me get up and put out my hands . The spirit of spring seemed to be passing in my room. "What is it?"I asked. The next minute I knew it was coming from mimosa tree outside. I walked outside to the edge of the garden, toward the tree. There it was, shaking in the warm sunshine. Its long branches, so heavy with flowers, almost touched the ground. I walked through the flowers to the tree itself and then just stood silent. Then I put my foot on the tree and pulled myself up into it. I climbed higher and higher until I reached a little seat. Long ago someone had put it there. I sat for a long time... Nothing in all the world was like this.

Later Helen learned that nature could be cruel as well as beautiful. Strangely enough she discovery this in a different kind of tree.

One day my teacher and I were returning from a long walk. It was a fine morning but it started to get warm and heavy. We stopped to rest two or three times. Our last stop was under a cherry tree, a short way from our house. The shade was nice and the tree was easy to climb. Miss Sullivan climbed with me. It was so coot up in the tree, we decided to have lunch there. I promised to sit still until she went to the house for some food. Suddenly a change came over the tree. I knew the sky was black because all the heat which meant light to me had died out of the air. A strange odor came up to me from the earth . I knew it. It was the odor which always comes before a thunder storm. I felt alone, cut off from friends, high above the firm earth. I was frightened and wanted my teacher. wanted to get down from that tree quickly, but I was no help to myself. There was a moment of terrible silence. Then a sudden and violent wind began to shake the tree and its leaves kept coming down all around me. I almost fell. I wanted to jump, but was afraid to do so. I tried to make myself small in the tree as the branches rubbed against me. Just us I thought that both the tree and I were going to fall, a hand touched me . It was my teacher. I held her with all my strength, then shook with joy to feel the solid earth under my feet.

Miss Sullivan stayed with Helen for many year. She taught Helen how to read, how to write and how to speak. She helped her to get ready for school and college. More than anything, Helen wanted to do what others did, and do it just as well. In time Helen did go to college and completed her studies with high honors. But it was a hard struggle. Few of the books she needed were written in the Braille language that the blind could read by touching pages. Miss Sullivan and others had to teach her what was in these books by forming words in her hands. The study of geometry and physics was especially difficult. Helen could only learn about squares, triangles and other geometrical forms by making them with wires. She kept feeling the different shapes of these wires until she could see them in her mind.

During her second year college Miss Keller wrote the story of her life and what a college meant to her. This is what she wrote.

My first day at Radcliffe college was of great interest. Some powerful force inside me made me test my mind. I wanted to learn if it was as good as that of others. I learned many things at college. One thing I slowly learned was that knowledge does not just mean power, as some people say. Knowledge leads to happiness because to have it is to know what is true and real. To know what great man of the past had thought, said, and done is to feel the heartbeat of humanity down through the ages.

All of Helen Kellers knowledge reached her mind through her sense of touch and smell, and of course her feelings. To know a flower was to touch it, feel it and smell it. This sense of touch became greatly developed as she got older. She once said that hands speak almost as loudly as words. She said the touch of some hands frightened her. The people seemed so empty of joy that when she touched their cold fingers it is as if she were shaking bands with a storm. She found the hands of others full of sunshine and warmth. Strangely enough Helen Keller learned to love things she could not hear, music for example. She did this through her sense of touch. When waves of air beat against her, she felt them. Sometimes she put her hand to a singers throat. She often stood for hours with her hands on a piano while it was played. Once she listened to an organ. Its powerful songs made her moved her body in rhythm with the music. She also liked to go to museums. She thought she understood sculptures as well as others. Her fingers told her the true size and the feel of the material.

What did Helen Keller think of herself, what did she think about the tragic lost of her sight and hearing. This is what she wrote as a young girl.

Sometimes a sense of loneliness covers me like a cold mist. I sit alone, and wait at life s shut-door. Beyond there is light and music and sweet friendship. But I may not enter. Silence sits heavy upon my soul. Then comes hope with a sweet smile and said

softly " There is joy in forgetting oneself And so I tried to make the light in others eyes my sun, the music in others ears my symphony, the smile on others lips my happiness.

Helen Keller was tall and strong. When she spoke, her face looked very alive. It helped to give meaning to her words. She often felt the faces of close friends when she was talking to them to discover their feelings. She and Miss Sullivan both were known for their sense of humor. They enjoyed jokes and laughing at funny things that happened to themselves or others. Helen Keller had to work hard to support herself after she finished college. She spoke to many groups around the country. She wrote several books and she made one movie based on her life. Her main goal was to increase public interest in the difficulties of people with physical problems. The work Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan did has been written and talked about for many years. Their success showed how people can conquer great difficulties. Anne Sullivan died in 1936, blind herself. Before Miss Sullivan died, Helen wrote and said many kind things about her.

It was the genius of my teacher, her sympathy, her love which made my first years of education so beautiful. My teacher is so near to me that I do not think of myself as a part from her. All the best of me belongs to her. Everything I am today was awakened by her loving touch .

Helen Keller died on June 1st, 1968. She was 87 year old. Her message of courage and hope remains.

刚出生没有多久，大概是5个月吧，妈妈就离开了我，到苏州那边去做生意了。我就跟着爷爷奶奶生活，直到我到读书。他们供我吃供我住，辛辛苦苦的拉拔我长大。

有一年夏天，我可能才9岁。那是一个贪玩的年龄。我和姐姐就到我家附近的公园去玩。那是一个不大的公园，但是那里有童年的记忆。我和姐姐一有空就跑到公园去寻找乐趣。每次去公园的时候，我们都要穿过那条车辆并不多的乡间小路。我跟在姐姐的身后屁股后面，突然一辆拖拉机开过来从我的身上压过去。爷爷奶奶急忙把我带到医院去，医生说：“只有拍片了，这样是看不出来的。”经一拍片，结果是脚踝骨折。我报上石膏在家里休息了两个月。结果，从那以后我的脚就留下了后遗症，只要跑步或走太长时间的路，脚就会很痛。

开学了，同学们带着满怀的好心情去上学了，而我却一点儿也开心不起来。因为我的脚还没有完全。每次放假回家，爷爷就买很多好吃的东西等我。我写完作业，爷爷为我揉揉腿，就这样日复一日，我的腿完全好了，可以像以前一样自由活动了。我喜欢爷爷那双慈爱的眼睛，那里充满了对我的爱。

有家人的爱是世界上最幸福的事情，人人都有和家人的故事。和家人在一起很真实，很温暖。我爱我的家人。

记得，那是春节的时候。由于爸爸工作的需要，我们要离开故乡，离开爷爷奶奶。小时任性的我，一想到要与伙伴们分别，就躲在小屋里哭个不停，就连春节也是闷闷不乐的。爷爷奶奶明白这将是在故乡的最后一个春节，为了让家庭气氛活跃，鼓励爸爸买来烟花。爷爷竟然唱起了多年来一直没唱过的京剧。

我不明白，离别的时刻，为何这般热闹。

爷爷奶奶千叮万嘱，希望我和姐姐勤奋努力，给家人争光，还送我们每人一首小诗。

爸爸放起了烟火，望着那空中荡漾的迷人的星火，我和姐姐兴奋的把手迎向天空。就在那一刻，相机留下了这永恒的美丽瞬间。

就在我们回过头的一刹那，我惊呆了，全家人齐刷刷的站在那里看着我们，就这样注视着，沉默的空气也忍不住变成了雪花翩翩飞舞。

从家人的目光里，我似乎看到了那股暖暖的爱的河流;那条长长的情的丝带;那个硬硬的岩石般的希望。

诚然，岁月如歌而过，但儿时就已埋下的真情与希望却还存在;纵然，海枯石烂，那深情的目光将永远是我前进的动力。

The environment has been polluted badly today and the nature punishes the

human being by all kinds of disasters, such as the heavy haze in Beijing, which

damages people’s health. World Environment Day is on June 5th. It pays attention

to call for the public to make an effort to bring the world a clean

environment.

Look at the pollution around us, which exists everywhere. The cars release

the gas which pollutes the air and the rubbish can be found in every corner of

the street. All of these daily incidents hurts the world we live. Especially the

factories, they release the heavy smoke and make the sky becomes dark. What’s

more, the wasted water flows to the clean river.

Though the government has made some action to punish the businessmen for

releasing the polluted sources, they still dare to take the risk of earning the

biggest profit. If we hurt the environment, it will hurt ourselves, because we

成长的过程都会遇到许许多多的事，它们就像大海中的一朵朵浪花，汇聚成我成长的过程。它们有伤心，有快乐；有烦恼，也有喜悦。在暑假期间，一天早晨，我起得很早，妈妈还没有起床做早餐。我突然发现厨房里有几个馒头，心想；要是我帮妈妈做好了早餐，妈妈起床后就可以不用那么辛苦地做早餐了嘛。我立刻跑进了厨房，我把围裙系好后，先把馒头切成两半，每半再切三片，然后把盐和五香粉放在小碗里，加上水搅匀了，又把每个馒头片在小碗里浸了浸，然后逐个装在盘子里。接着，我把锅刷干净，架在炉子上，点着火。等锅干了以后，再把两勺油倒进去。过了一两分钟，油热了，我赶紧把一个馒头片扔在锅里，锅里立刻发出“啪啦，啪啦”的响声，并溅起了许多油花，我有点害怕。这时，站在后面指导，监督的妈妈忙说：“别扔，沿着锅边把馒头片滑下去！”我照做了，果然油不溅了。可是，我用铲子一翻，又有许多油花溅了起来。这回我不那么害怕了，用铲子慢慢地将馒头片翻过来又翻过去。等它慢慢变黄了，就铲出摆在盘子里。

我夹了一块炸好的馒头片尝了尝，啊，外焦里松，可好吃了。妈妈吃了，连说：“好吃，好吃！女儿长大了，学会帮妈妈做事了。”我听了，心里美滋滋的。在妈妈的指导下，我学会炸馒头片了。

这件事让我成长，让我高兴，让我懂得了：细心做好每一件事，回报生我，养我的父母，自己快乐，父母也快乐。

Everyone always has a good Sunday. On Sundays, everybody does some things what he like.

Last Sunday, Jack had a relaxing Sunday. He got up 6 o’clock. After breakfast, Jack played basketball with his friends. They were very happy. Then he played the guitar in the room. 今年夏天，我到姑姑家去玩，炎热的天气使屋里格外闷热。中午吃过饭后，我决定去书店里看书。

大概过了几分钟，那个母亲好像想起了什么，拿起她的包在里面翻找，当她在包里面翻出一把雨伞时，我才明白，原来她忘记她的包里有一把伞了。于是就准备和她的女儿回家，正当她拿好东西时，她的女儿却说：“妈妈，我们可以现在不走吗?“为什么呢?”她的妈妈问。那个女孩子说：“那边有一个阿姨在扫地，外面在下雨她没有打伞，她会生病的。”我顺着她手指指的方向看去，一个清洁工阿姨在清理一个水渠里的垃圾，水渠里的垃圾有很多，许多塑料餐盒，烧烤棍，冰棒棍，各种麻辣包装袋都卡在里面，还有一些果皮，因为气温高，果皮很容易腐烂，所以不时传来臭气。

雨并没有停下的迹象，反而越下越大，阴冷的风肆虐地刮着，把路边的树叶吹得哗哗地响，竟感到了一丝冷意。

我向那个清洁工看去，她依然在那里掏垃圾，豆大的雨点打在她身上，她的衣服已经湿透，头发已经开始滴水。

服装店里的母亲点了点头，那个小女孩接过她手里的`伞，冒着雨把伞给清洁工送去了。

一会儿，那个小女孩回来了，那个母亲笑着用纸巾帮她擦去脸上的水和衣服上的水。

看着这样的画面，每个人心里都会感到温暖。

没过多久，雨停了，太阳又出来了，阳光温暖着我就像刚才的画面温暖着我的心一样。

我从小就喜欢读故事书，可我的妈 妈就是不让我读，非让我读名著不可。

有一天，妈 妈让我读《读书改变命运》,可是我一听这个名字就觉得很平淡、很无趣。我对妈 妈说：;妈 妈，你能不能给我买一些可笑的、有意思的书啊？;妈 妈说：;那些有意思的书全都是没有用的，对学习也没有帮助。我灵机一动，想出了一个主意。我对妈 妈说:;妈 妈，我想起来了，我答应找同学去写作的。妈 妈说：;行，你去吧。我偷偷地把我最喜欢的故事书也带了出去。就找了一个地方读了起书来，不知不觉地就过了很长时间，直到火烧云刺得眼睛睁不开时，才知道已经过了两个多小时，;不好，过时间了。我急忙跑回家，妈 妈似乎看出了什么破绽，对我说;你平时不是写字挺快吗，为什么这次这么慢。在妈 妈的审问下，我只能承认了。

妈 妈趁这个机会向老师告状，我只能把读书当作任务来完成了，可是书上的字好像和我有仇似的，怎么也钻不进我的脑子里。

可是不久之后，我却慢慢地爱上了这些大部头，不只喜欢故事书了，我也喜欢天文的、地理的、历史的。妈 妈让我读什么书，我就读什么书，之后我才明白，什么书都读，不能只读一类书，要多读书，读好书。不知不觉中，我的阅读能力和作文能力都有了提高，而且以前许多不知道的知识，现在也都知道了。今后我还要经常读书，要读更多的书。

书，它就像一把钥匙，帮我打开文学之门，让我奔向知识的海洋；书，又像是一层又一层的阶梯，让我走进书的乐园，享受精神的快慰，心灵的盛筵。

“书籍是人类进步的阶梯。”这是一个关于读书的名言。说到读书，我可真想和你们说说我和书的故事。

我以前最讨厌看书了，一看见书就想把书死撕掉。可让人意想不到，后来我尽然能心平气和地连看两个小时的的书！这究竟是怎么一回事呢？事情的来龙去脉是这样的：当我上二年级时，妈妈为了让我喜欢看书绞尽脑汁想尽了许多办法，可是都没有用。我还记得，有一天晚上饭刚吃好时，妈妈拿出了一份计划，读给我听。“在外面打碎或撕碎东西必须用自己的零花钱来赔偿。”妈妈还说这个计划叫做“读书计划”。这个突如其来的消息沉重地打击在了我那幼小的心灵上。看来我要和我的零花钱说“拜拜”了。可我始终不知道，这份“读书计划”和读书到底有什么关系。

过后，妈妈说要带我出去转转。可是眼看着就要下雨了，可是妈妈还是坚持带我出去。刚走一些路程就开始下蒙蒙细雨了，雨愈来愈大，刚刚走到新华书店门口时，妈妈说进去躲一下雨。可是到书店里能干什么呢？妈妈拿了一本《格林童话》给我看。刚看见书，我就想撕掉，可是又想起了那份“计划”，无奈之下，我只好乖乖地坐在那里看书，借着我学过的拼音，把字拼了出来。看着看着，我被故事里面各种各样的情节所吸引了。我从漫不经心变成了聚精会神。知道晚上九点，雨小了一点，我才依依不舍地把书放回书架。之后，我几乎每天晚上都来新华书店看书。而我的零用钱呢？

它呀，总是花在买书上面。看来它也和我一样喜欢看书呢！

书现在可是我“形影不离的好朋友”呢！而我读书也没有白费，以后到写作时，我读的书都发挥了巨大的作用，每次作文都得“优”。看来“书籍是人类进步的阶梯”这句说得真不错！

诚信就是诚实守信，是做人的根本，是中华民族的传统美德。诚实指忠诚老实，言行一致;守信指说话和做事讲信用，说到做到。 Integrity is honesty and trustworthy, the root of human beings, and the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation.Honesty refers to loyalty and honesty, consistent with words and deeds; trustworthy to speak and do things to talk about credit.

古人常说过：“君子一言，驷马难追”的这句话。我记得有一次，婆婆正要出门的时候，我就赶快跑过去，对婆婆说：“你可不可以帮我买个笔记本给我，好吗?”这时，婆婆对我说：“孩子，婆答应您，不过，你要在家里好好听公公的话，我就帮你买了。”于是，我点了点头，向婆婆致意。婆婆也没有说什么，就匆匆忙忙地走了。

到了中午，当婆婆回到家的时候，公公就感到很奇怪，対婆婆说：“你不是帮孩子买东西回来吗?”婆婆说：“是的，我是帮孩子买东西回来了。其实，我只是骗他而已。”这时，公公生气地对我婆婆说：“唉!我们都是孩子的第一任老师，现在孩子年纪小，总会学着大人说话做事，孩子也会跟着学的。所以，你骗孩子，就相当于你骗你自己呀!

因此，我们就要履行诺言，给孩子做个好榜样。”婆婆哭着对公公说：“我错了，我应该赶快下去帮孩子买个笔记本上来。”但是，婆婆对我来说，也许，我以后再也不会相信婆婆说的话。这样的一个故事，告诉人们：“一个人不明白做人诚实守信的道理，那么，以后，再也不要相信他了。所以，一个人要诚实守信，才能取得别人的信任!

大家有没有听说过《喜羊羊与灰太狼》的故事，你们再熟悉不过了吧!故事中讲的是懒洋洋向其他同学撒了两次谎。当灰太狼来的时候，懒洋洋说的话再也没人相信了。正因为他的谎言，导致所有羊群被吃掉的后果。好在有喜洋洋实破懒洋洋的谎言，最后，把羊群救出来了。

所以，我们高中生要从我做起，从我们身边做起。在学校要做一个遵守诚信的好学生，在家中要做一个诚信的好孩子。我们牢记着主席曾经提出的“以诚实守信为荣，以见利忘义为耻”。让我们做一个诚实守信的人吧!

少年陆天，他工作繁忙，很久没笑了。街坊邻里的老爷爷都知道，他可是一个有爱心的少年。

冬天的街上很清冷，少年走在人行道上，向家的方向走去，心情低沉沉的。陆天不时还抖抖身，想将身上的寒冷抖去。突然，几朵雪花落在了少年陆天的肩上，他知道，马上要下大雪了。

坐在门口聊天的几个老爷爷，看见了他，不由自主地叹了口气。他们讨论起来：“你瞧，陆天这孩子工作以后给自己太大压力了。”

突然，有只小狗惊慌失措地大叫了几声。少年陆天猛地抬起头，十几个小朋友用石头正在砸一只流浪狗。流浪狗以前是有家庭的，但那家人搬走了，却没有带走它。陆天沉浸在了回忆中，他记得小时候经常和它玩。它现在就如同皮包骨头，再加上这寒冷的天气，它在不停地颤抖。陆天立马阻止小朋友，小朋友顿时兴致全无，走开了。

陆天回到家，在门口又看到了它。陆天从口袋中拿出自己仅剩一点的晚餐——一块面包，分给了流浪狗，陆天退后几步，把面包块分一半放在了地上。陆天叫了一句“朵朵”，狗狗没有回答，只是吃着面包。

陆天尝试多次向前靠近，但它就多次后退。突然，陆天的视线转移到了它的脚上，它受伤了。无奈之下，陆天只能悄悄地靠近，一把抓住了它。朵朵拼命地挣扎，怎样都跑不掉。陆天把它带到宠物医院疗伤，很幸运，伤势不是很严重。回家时，夕阳把最后一缕阳光照射在了它的身上。陆天又叫了一声朵朵，流浪狗终于回应了，陆天轻轻地抚摸它，脸上露出了久违的微笑。

少年陆天收养了与他从小一起长大的朵朵，陆天也有了好伙伴。

Highly Talented

Tsau Pi and Tsau Jr were sons of Tsau Tsau. Both were very gifted writers, and Tsau Jr was especially quick-witted.

After Tsau Tsaus death, Tsau Pi took over the throne of the kingdom of wei. Jealous of Tsau Jrs literary ability, and afraid that he might cause problems, Tsau Pi was always looking for a way to kill his brother.

One day, Tsau Pi called Tsau Jr into see him.He ordered his brother to make up a poem within the time it took to walk seven steps, adding that if he could not, his life would be in danger.

Greatly saddened, Tsau Jr began to walk and to think. Before he had taken the seven steps, he had already finished his poem, the meaning of which was: "Brothers are of the same family, so why should the oppress each other?"

Tsau Jr was very intelligent and loved to study. He wrote many outstanding articles which showed his artistic talent and earned him the admiration of many people. One scholar said of him: "Heaven gave the world ten decalitres of talent, and Tsau Jr alone has eight of them."

Today, to say that a person "has eight decalitres of talent" is to say that he has a great aptitude for writing.

才高八斗

曹丕与曹植都是曹操的儿子，二者均有才华，特别是曹植更具文采。

在曹操，死后，曹丕继任大统，但他嫉妒曹植的才华，同时也惧怕曹植回谋反，所以一直在伺机杀害曹植。

有一天，曹丕要求接见曹植，他要求曹植在他七步之内作诗一首，如果做不到，就会有生命危险。

悲愤之下，曹植急中生智，作出七步诗，是的意思就是“本来就是亲兄弟，为什么要这样步步紧逼，伤及感情？”

曹植文采俱佳，热爱学习，他曾做过不少才华横溢的文赋，均令世人感叹不已。曾有一位学者说道：“如若天下文采共有十斗，曹植一人独占八斗。”

今天，如果我们说一个人“才高八斗”，就是指他“才华横溢，很有文采”。
