The Laba Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. "La" is the name given to the 12th lunar month and 8 is pronounced as "ba" in Chinese, which translated is "Laba." There are several legends about the origin of this festivity and we could not tell which one is true. But what we know today is that this festival started as a sacrificial offering to ancestors. It was also a time for the ancient Chinese to pray to heaven and earth that there would be a bountiful harvest. Many people hoped for good luck as well for the coming year.

Traditionally, the Laba rice porridge is the most important element of the festival. During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. I wake up 11

o’clock Am everyday, after a washing, I have a good lunch with my parents. Next

I play computer games till the time to have supper. After have dinner. I go on

playing till 2 o’clock Am, and then go to sleep with tired. This is one dull day

of my winter vacation.But I haven’t bored all the time. Sometimes I read the

books, sometime I listen to the music or the radio in the bed，because it was

very cold outside and snowy all the day. And I also meat some of my good friends

during the vacation ,we have a very long talk about the life of each other in

还记得刚从那离情依依的小学毕业典礼中——毕业的我，才一眨眼的功夫;就已成为一位初中一年级生，来到一个毫无认知的新环境，有新同学、班主任等，不知是要感到喜悦和紧张;还是得因为陌生决定封闭自我，表面似乎看不出来，但心中有万分疑惑，实在难以用言语完全表达出来。这样的想法我一直藏在心中，藏到了一年级的下学期，这时的我也多少有些朋友了，在这新环境中已熟悉的我，逐渐的放下心中那犹如死沉沉巨石般的想法，成日和几位交情较好的朋友三五成群的围在一起嘻嘻哈哈，话虽如此，但这时的我心中又出现的新的想法，心中想着：“如若自己在好友中出尽风头、一马当先是否会受人厌恶呢?如此自取灭亡的举动何必做，人不犯我;我不犯人即可”。

Low-carbon Life

Low-carbon life is good for everyone. To help with the environment，I always walk or ride a bike to school instead of taking a car. Besides，I will try to use things that can be recycled and I never forget to turn off the lights when I leave the classroom. I think it‘s my duty to live a low-carbon life.
