My mom used to say that I was born to swim. But the truth is that I didn t know how to swim until the last year of my primary school!

Mom always said that I could swim in the basin when I was only two months old. I was surprised at the amazing fact. If this was true, then why was I afraid of water? I went to swim every summer, but I didn t make a little progress. I was worried and blamed myself several times. When I watched people swimming freely, how I wished I had learnt to swim!

The story of how I learnt to swim is dramatic. One hot summer afternoon, my father and I went to the swimming pool to swim. While my father was changing his clothes, I was roaming along the bank of the pool. Suddenly I heard a voice, Look out! and then came a big noise and beautiful splashes. One winter, the weather was so cold that water turned into ice. One day on my way home, when seeing a frozen lake, I thought that the ice must be thick enough to support me. Being so interested in skating, I couldnt help going down and sliding on the ice. Suddenly, I heard a sound of crack. Looking down, I saw the crack on the ice surface. I was frightened out of my life and didnt dare to move. But nobody could help me. I had to move toward the bank carefully.

As soon as I got onto the bank, the ice broke. How horrible it was! Even ifit has been a long time since then, I can still feel the fear. And I no longer like skating since then.

This summer holiday, I went to Dalian with my family. We got there by air. Dalian is a very beautiful and modern city. On the bus, we could see all kinds of buildings which were great.

In the morning, we got to the hotel where we lived. After breakfast, we began to our travel. First we took the bus to the Sea Park. There are so many different kinds of fishes that I couldn’t believe my eyes. We also saw the show of dolphins. Then we had lunch in a restaurant. The seafood which was very famous in China was delicious.

After lunch we went swimming. The sea was blue and beach was golden. We all enjoyed ourselves in the sea. Finally we went back the hotel where we lived. We had a happy day.

In this trip, we also went to some places which were interesting and famous in Dalian, went shopping and so on.

Several days later, we left Dalian. On our way home, we were very happy. This was the reason why we didn’t feel tired. When I was six years old, my cousin in tainan got married. Five people, including father, mother, two brothers and I, I took a taxi to the wedding. Its a beautiful scenery along the way. When I was looking at the scenery, however, the taxi door suddenly opened and I fell off immediately. My father and mother took me to the hospital. Luckily, only my nose was broken. There are various activities in the college, such as hiking, gathering, competitions and so on. And what impresses me most is my experience of being a volunteer teacher.

I was a freshman when the School of Foreign Languages organized a voluntary activity which aimed at providing children in poor areas with a better education. As a matter of fact, I did not show any interest in this activity, for I thought that I just wasted my time and energy without getting any pay. But finally I followed the trend and went to the interview for a try. To my surprise, I was eolled as a member of the teaching group. I became quite excited and made up my mind to prepare for the class as well as I could. I read their textbook again and again to make sure that I was familiar with the language points. What’s more, I searched on the Internet for some additional information, which I thought would help me a lot in the class. At that time, I really could not wait to give the lecture.

Fortunately, it didn’t keep me waiting too long. It was a sunny day. And we spent almost an hour in the bus. Although I was tired and sleepy, my enthusiasm overwhelmed my tiredness. The school is a small place full of various books. The children there were so lovely that they left me a deep impression. They keep asking me

questions about study and they were also curious about the college life. I was quite happy surrounded by a group of children.

I really benefit a lot from the unforgettable experience. I realize that money and some material things should not be considered as the most important thing in our life. Today was fine and cloudy, and the sky looked blue. I went to visit Guilin with my grandfather. We spent 2 hours taking a bus to Guilin.

When we got there, we went to Seven Stars Park first, which is beautiful and famous. There are many kinds of colourful flowers. They are all lovely and beautiful. We took many photos there.

After a while,we went to the zoo in the park. There are also many animals in the zoo. I like birds best, because they have beautiful feather and can sing many good songs. We watched them gladly and feed something to them.

As a student ,I don’t have any great event to talk about ,but here I want to share my experience of preparing for the high school entrance examination.

During the first three years of junior school ,we were very happy and free .But we often heard that Grade 4 would be a hell. After the final exam of Grade 3 in June, everything blew onto our faces : teachers’ changing , harder and harder texts , terrible pressure and of course the graduate exam .Where your position was on the listboard became the most important thing in our life .We had to study hard day and night ,always from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. the next day.

But I must say that it’s really an unforgettable memory in my life. Under the pressure we lived our life to the fullest, and enjoyed the true interesting things that we may have never cared before. Grade 4 in junior school was a turning point in my life. My attitude to learning, my world outlook and my philosophy of life all changed. I turned to be positive and strong. I also gained many people’s true & pure friendship, both teachers ’ and classmates’. In some way, I like that kind of life, as it taught me many things I’d never learned before.

Teachers also helped me a lot. I still can’t forget that my history teacher talked to me until 10:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2003, for my application. My head teacher also encouraged me, so did my Chinese teacher. I should say, all my teachers worked very hard and always neglected their sleep and meals. Even if some of them were about 50 and often fell ill, they never left us one day .

The last and greatest challenge was of course the final exam, also my high school entrance exam. I felt very well and comfortable except my chemistry physics exams. The result proved that I couldn’t have done worse in them. But in total, my mark is O.K. So then I became a student in the best high school of Hubei Province.

We, teachers and students, got together in East Lake Hotel on June 4th, 2003. At the moment of saying goodbye, I felt that my time of junior had gone ,and my senior time was coming .

I and the value of a is three (6) class blackboard on the first floor, look have people on the run and not to let the students clean the blackboard. Today, I got up early I wanted to sleep more, but the thought of I want to be a service team, immediately got up.

我一出门，看了看天空，好像天还没亮，但我要做服务队员，所以我立刻跑到了学校。

我一到学校交好作业，就到了黑板报处。那里有点冷，但我心里想，我是服务队员，我必须要为大家服务，这点冷怕什么。这时，有一位小朋友走了过来，向我敬了一个不太对的队礼，于是我对这位小同学说：“你敬的队礼不太对。”于是我手把手把教了他一下。这位小同学对我说谢谢。

铃声响了，我来到了三(6)班。他们的读书声可真响亮，于是我在黑板上面写了“早读好、表扬”。我走了一圈，地面没有一点垃圾，于是我在黑板上又写了“地面干净、表扬、服19”。三(6)班的同学读书声越来越响了，可能是因为我写了表扬吧。

这几天的服务让我感到做好服务队员可真不容易啊!

When I was a little child, I was so naughty that I always did something angry my parents. They always blamed to me, but I never listened to them. I thought they were too strict with me. But I changed in someday. My parents always told me to be careful when I went out. However, all I thought was they worried too much. On my way to take the bus home, there was a traffic light. That day, when I got to the cross road, the light was red, but there was no car crossed the road anymore. So I went across the road without the light turning to green. At this moment, a car rushed quickly towards me. I was suddenly scared, so that I couldn’t move but stood still. Luckily, the driver broke the car quickly and I did not get hurt. But I did scared. I couldn’t image what would happen if the car did not stop in time. I told my parents what I experienced. At first, they blamed me as usual and I knew I was wrong that time. Therefore, I did not say anything. They realized that I was frightened, so they comforted me patiently. I finally knew that all they said and done was good to me. After that, I was much more careful and I listened to my parents.

This morning , I went shopping for my mother, my pen friend mary wanted to go with me, she though it was a good chance to learn chinese , so we went together.

There are many kinds of goods in the markets, marry was very happy to talk to the sellers, so were they. we wanted to buy some chicken for lunch, I encoraged mary to ask for price, marry was a little nevous, she ask the seller:" how much is the cock?" ,the seller said:" yeah..., I am not sure whether it is a cock or a hen" .mary didnt know what to do, she looked at me, I laughed " how much is the chicken? Doing a part-time job brings them so many benefits. For one thing college students can earn pocket money by doing part-time jobs so that they neednt ask money from their parents any more. For another the part-time jobs can help them get more working experience.

做兼职可以给他们带来了很多好处。一方面，大学生可以通过做兼职工作挣零用钱，这样他们就不用再向从他们的父母要钱了。另一方面，兼职可以帮助他们获得更多的工作经验。

Nowadays the working experience is an important thing in job hunting for most companies prefer to hire someone who is experienced. Whats more through the part-time jobs they can make more friends and know the society better.

Nevertheless its not absolutely right for college students to do the part-time jobs. Since most of them are always busy with their part-time jobs at night so that they may not have a good rest. Therefore they cant listen to the teachers carefully and fall asleep in class. I dont think its wise for them to do so. As college students study is their major task. If their part-time jobs have a bad effect on their study they had better give them up and pay more attention to their study instead.
