The Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival is one of the 24 seasonal division points in china, falling on April 4-6 each year. After the festival, the temperature will rise up and rainfall increases. It is the high time for spring plowing and sowing. But the Qingming Festival is not only a seasonal point to guide farm work, it is more a festival of commemoration.

The Qingming Festival sees a combination of sadness and happiness.

This is the most important day of sacrifice. Both the Han and minority ethnic groups at this time offer sacrifices to their ancestors and sweep the tombs of the diseased. Also, they will not cook on this day and only cold food is served.

The Hanshi (cold Food) Festival was usually one day before the Qingming Festival. As our ancestors often extended the day to the Qingming, they were later combined.

On each Qingming Festival, all cemeteries are crowded with people who came to sweep tombs and offer sacrifices. Traffic on the way to the cemeteries becomes extremely jammed. The customs have been greatly simplified today. After slightly sweeping the tombs, people offer food, flowers and favorites of the dead, then burn incense and paper money and bow before the memorial tablet.

In contrast to the sadness of the tomb sweepers, people also enjoy hope of Spring on this day. The Qingming Festival is a time when the sun shines brightly, the trees and grass become green and nature is again lively. Since ancient times, people have followed the custom of Spring outings. At this time tourists are everywhere.

People love to fly kites during the Qingming Festival. Kite flying is actually not limited to the Qingming Festival. Its uniqueness lies in that people fly kites not during the day, but also at night. A string of little lanterns tied onto the kite or the thread look like shining stars, and therefore, are called "gods lanterns."

The Qingming Festival is also a time to plant trees, for the survival rate of saplings is high and trees grow fast later. In the past, the Qingming Festival was called "Arbor Day". But since 1979, "Arbor Day" was settled as March 12 according to the gregorian calendar.

在中国有许多传统的节日，比如春节、元宵节、清明节、中秋节、但我最喜欢的是春节。在那天可以吃饺子、放鞭炮，真的好开心啊!

以前我总感觉过春节也没什么特别的，春节是和家人团聚的节日，我已经很久没跟家人离过春节了，因为每一次过春节我都在想一家过的，这一次，我终于能吃上一次团圆饭了。

在这段时间里，家家户户都要打扫除买年货，贴窗花，挂年画，写春联，蒸年糕，做各种食品，准备辞旧迎新。春节前叫“除夕”。除夕之夜，是家人团聚的时候。一家人围坐在一起吃一顿丰盛的年夜饭，说说笑笑，直到天亮，这叫守岁。过了除夕就是大年初一。从初一开始，人们要走亲戚，看朋友，互相拜年。拜年是春节的重要习俗，大家都要说一些祝愿幸福，健康的吉祥话。

记得有一次我去外婆家拜年，外婆准备了三个红包，我看见其中有两个红包鼓得很高，而剩下的那一个却很薄，弟弟一下拿了一个很鼓红包，妹妹也拿了一个很鼓的红包我却拿了一个最薄的，弟弟的是有五张五元，妹妹的有五张一元，而我的是一张100元，弟弟看见我的比他多，他就双手插腰生气起来了，我们看见了，哈哈大笑起来，整个屋子充满了我们的笑声。

正月十五是元宵节，这天晚上要吃元宵，我和弟弟妹妹打着各色灯笼四处游玩，烟花又在此刻重新装点起美丽的夜空。一个个孔明灯就像天空中明亮的星星，带着人们的美好愿望消失在漆黑的夜空中。

家乡的春节在正月十五的香甜元宵中结束了，可我还沉浸在热闹、祥和的春节中。

有—对年轻的夫妇，结婚了—个月之后，女人想要回娘家看看，就邀老公和她—起回家去了。女人对老公说“我们这—次回家，无论是对父母，或对亲朋好友，都要有礼貌，不要鲁莽或有失礼的地方，好吗?”老公就对女人说“你放心吧!我—定不会让你丢脸，也不会让岳父母失望。”到了娘家后，女人就和父母聊起近况来了，老公就东看看、西看看，这里走走，那里逛逛的。

不知不觉地，老公走到米房来了，看到了成堆的白米，想到自己也有点饿了，就顺手抓了—把白米，往嘴里塞，塞满了—口的白米，恰巧这个时候，女人也走进房来了，老公—时白米也咽不下去，吐也吐不出来。

女人看到他痛苦的样子，就问他“你怎么了?哪里不舒服?”老公根本就说不出话来，女人看他不说话，更是疑惑，就走近看看他，才发现老公脸腮部都凸起来了。女人立刻带着老公去见她父亲说“爸爸!您看!您的女婿不知为什么，两腮都肿起来了，可能口腔有毛病，您赶快请医生来为他看病吧!”女人—直紧随着老公身边，所以，老公—点逃避的机会都没有，他心里暗暗叫苦：该怎么办呢?

不久，医生来了，医生看了—下凸起的脸腮就说“这是无名肿瘤，要赶快开刀，否则会有生命危险!”于是，就为老公开刀了，结果，取出来的却只是—把白米。才知道原来是偷吃白米而造成的，这样害得四个人都很尴尬。

对岳父来说，该是骂女婿?还是不骂?对女人来说，老公可是真丢脸!对老公来说，偷吃白米，结果白挨—刀，害得大家白忙—场。对医生来说，他更是窘极了，他诊断是无名肿瘤，开完刀拿出来的却是把白米。所以，大家都不敢说话，结果不欢而散。

人若是有—点点的功劳，或小小的长处，都喜欢向人炫耀，惟恐别人不知道。但是，若有—点点的过错，或有—点点的缺点，都深怕别人知道，巴不得隐藏起来。古人说“若要人不知，除非己莫为。”如果不想让别人知道自己的过错，除非不去做，因为纸包不住火，隐瞒只是—时的，迟早都有人会知道。光明磊落才是正人君子的作为。喜欢隐瞒过错的人，最后都不被人所尊敬!

人并不是圣贤，偶尔都会犯—些错误，但是如果坦白说出来，表示有悔过的心才能消灭罪过，在错误中学习成长，才会让自己愈来愈好!

languageis essential; language is what we use to communicate among others. it is something that joins us just as strongly as it separates us. There are many different “languages” in the world but really they are all bound by certain rules, they all have a format that they follow, all of them have nouns, verbs, tenses, and adjectives.

Language is almost like a math, the point of it is that when you speak, you try to reach a conclusion with a different person, and in math you use equations to solve problems and reach conclusions, one is numbers the other is words.

从前，有只小熊叫贝利，他从小的梦想就是长大后能成为一位魔法师。

在他20岁时，终于如愿以偿。成为了魔法师的他决定开一个服装店。

首先，他使用魔法变出了一个三层楼房，他在第一层放入了童装，第二层放女装，第三层放男装。室内分别用油漆涂上了灰色，紫色和棕色，外墙则用彩漆喷涂。

开业第一天便有许多人前来参观和购买。可是人们刚进去不久，便纷纷抱怨“：好冷啊，

怎么这么冷?”人们实在太冷了，便都离开了贝利的服装店。

从此，就再也没人去贝利那儿买衣服了，所以店铺也倒闭了。贝利伤心极了，怎么想也想不通，人们为什么会觉得冷。

于是，他找到了科学家猩猩博士，把事情一五一十地告诉了猩猩博士，猩猩博士听后哈哈大笑地说：“你呀你，房屋的颜色多选不好，人家不说冷才怪。你看，深色会使人感到冷，所以颜色要选比较鲜明的颜色，比如红色。”贝利听了连连点头，回家去了。

第二天，贝利想：“我不开服装店，开个旅馆吧。”

吸取了上次的教训，贝利这次将墙壁涂成了红色。可是，旅客们刚睡了一晚，就反映夜里总是失眠，血压上升等问题，旅客实在呆不下去了，便都离开了。贝利只好将旅馆关了。

他再次来到猩猩博士家，生气的说：“ 猩猩博士你到底靠不靠谱啊?”然后，他将事情的来龙去脉说了一遍。猩猩博士笑得比上次更厉害了，边笑边说：“

你呀，真是的，红色会使人大脑变得异常兴奋。所以，旅馆肯定不能用红色，要用一些使人放松的颜色。你虽然学了魔法，但要使用恰当，不然会闹出许多笑话的。”贝利不好意思挠挠头，红着脸走了。

从此，贝利把魔法利用的十分恰当，再也没有闹出笑话了，成为了一个真正的魔法师。

What’s the purpose of life ? What are we seeking for in our short lives ? For privilege,for money ,or just for enjoyment ? It’s the problem that everyone wants to explore. As a matter of fact , everybody needs a proper purpose in order to struggle against life . A clear purpose not only guides us but also gives us hope and energy . When unknown challenges stop our steps toward the dream, our purpose will help us overcome the difficulties . Because of purpose and our efforts , we become useful for the world . Those who travel in life without direction sometimes turn confused and even lose their confidence . Considering the benefits of living a life of purpose , we seem to should establish our purpose as soon as possible . But we need to be careful to choose the purpose that will be suitable enough for ourselves .In my opinion ,the purpose of life must include two necessary aspects——Work and Love . Work is the basic purpose of our life . As a youngster,you are supposed to try your best to find the job which you love from the bottom of your heart. Then you may dedicate yourself to it with all your enthusiasm. Charles Moyers explains these :“Make sure the thing you’re living for is worth dying for . ”

On the other hand , only work is not enough to lead a life of purpose .Loving our families and taking care of friends are also indispensable parts in our life. When people really love their families ,they will surely find the purpose of life.In other words , our emotions can be surely content when we stay with our families and friends. One’s life without love is like the sky without sunshine. Work and Love play the most important two roles in the purpose for which we seek throughout our life . But other aspects such as devotion and learning knowledge also have an deep influence on our life . These things affect our behaviour and values more or less ,even though most of us can’t realize it clearly . As the saying goes :“When we do good , we feel good , and we are good.” Set the correct purpose of your life now , And you will make a difference to your life.

"Grateful heart, thank you, my life, let me have the courage to do my own......" Whenever I hear this song, was deeply touched. Along the way, I need to thank people is too much: thank my father mother for all her support, thank you grandma and grandpa takes good care of me, but I thank the teachers to me most hard training.

“野火烧不尽，春风吹又生。”曾经有多少人赞美过小草?小草虽然矮小，但是它有顽强的生命力。

小草的样子是极其普通而平凡的。小草的叶子不大，也不多，只有三四片，窄窄的，又青又绿，上面有一层茸茸的绒毛，闻起来有一股淡淡的清香。不论是贫瘠的荒地，还是肥沃的土地，只要落下小草的种子，它就会顽强地钻出地面。小草根本不需要任何人给它浇水、施肥，只要一把黄土跟一束阳光，就可以茁壮成长。

暴风雨来啦!盆花被人们搬进了房屋，旷野上的花儿们只好把头倚在绿叶里。可小草却绝不向狂风暴雨低头、弯腰，而是勇敢地迎着暴风雨，一丛丛傲立在地面上，像是在说：“啊!让暴风雨来得更猛烈些吧!”暴风雨终于停了，小草显得更加郁郁葱葱，生机勃勃了。小草真是顽强啊!

啊!我爱小草，爱它顽强的生命力!

My hometown is beautiful place It stands near a wide river at the foot of low green hills. It has many tall buildings and wide streets. There are trees and flowers everywhere.

But it has not always been like that. In the old days, it was a sad dirty little town. Landlords and merchants lived in the few good houses. For the working people there were only dark, unhealthy rooms in old buildings and huts in narrow muddy streets. Nearly everyone was poor and many had no work.

Everything has changed since liberation. The people, led by the Party, have got rid of the mud and dirt. They have put up schools, theaters, shops and flats. They have an assembly hall and a hospital. Along the river they have built offices, hotels and parks. A lot of factories have sprung up. On the river, streamers and boats come and go busily, day and night. They carry the products of our industries to all parts of the country.

I love my hometown, and I love its people. They also have changed. Healthy and happy, they are going all out to build socialism.
