Nowadays, peoples life has changed a lot with the development of modern technology and economy, which has put lots of negative effects on the environment.

Why this? Because, firstly, some factories are pouring wastes into rivers, lakes, seas and so forth; secondly, because of human activities, a great number of plants and animals are losing their lives; thirdly, using modern machines and chemicals is bad for the environment. Besides these, there are a lot of human activities which have done or are doing harm to our surroundings.

Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to colored people, women , animals and so on. Right now I am talking about fighting for respect to our environment. Though the environment doesn’t have a mouth to deprecate what humans have done to her, she retaliates through action. 我曾经跟着爸爸妈妈去过世界上很多美丽的地方，那蓝色的大海，绿色的森林，辽阔的草原，弯弯的小河，令我无比留恋，我也憧憬着长大后去更多的地方，去探知无尽的未来。但这个噩梦突然让我有一些恐慌，假如地球真的遍体鳞伤，被人类毁坏，那么所有的一切不复存在，人类将陷入万劫不复之境地。

要想留住地球，就要从小事做起，从我做起。我们要成为环保小卫士，一定要把地球的病治好。做到不随地乱扔垃圾、要爱护身边的动植物、要节约用水、要绿色出行等等。虽然这些都是小事情，但我相信，只要坚定地做下去，一定能使我们的地球更加美丽富有。
