Thank you very much for taking me with you on that splendid outing to London. It was the first time that I had seen the Tower or any of the other famous sights. If Id gone alone, I couldnt have seen nearly as much, because I wouldnt have known my way about.

The weather was splendid on that day, which I thought was rare. I still remember some people told me that in Britain there was weather and no climate. During the same day, it might snow in the morning, rain at noon, shine in the afternoon and be windy before the night falls. So I think I was lucky.

I think the river trip was the best thing of all. London really came alive for me as we saw it from the Thames during that wonderful journey down to Greenwich. It was all tremendously exciting - a day that I shall never forget.

The spring festival is Chinese most traditional festival every 365 days. Each Chinesepay much attention on it. Every year about 15 days before spring festival， themigrate works and white-collars are beginning crowded home-returning.

But， in recent years， with the development of the world， many different attitudes between the young and the old towards the spring festival come forth. The old are still pay more attention to the spring festival， but the young gradually change the mode to spend their spring festival holiday， such as travel overseas.

When I am a childhood， I celebrated the spring festival with my family about amonth in my winter vacation in traditional way， such as helping cleaning our houses， putting red couplets on gates， setting off firecrackers， and wear new clothes. Now， I spend only 4 or 5 days at home with my parents in celebrating thespring festival， then I will hurry back to work. In the Warring States Period, a man in the state of Chu was offering a sacrifice(祭品) to his ancestors. After the ceremony, the man gave a beaker of wine to his servants.

The servants thought that there was not enought wine for all of them, and decided to each draw a picture of snake; the one who finished the picture first would get the wine.

One of them drew very rapidly. Seeing that the others were still busy drawing, he added feet to the snake.

At this moment, another man finished, snatched the beaker(烧杯，大口杯) and drank the wine, saying,"A snake doesnt have feet. How can you add feet to a snake?"

I went skiing with my friends on Sunday. It was my very first time to try this super interesting sport. I really enjoyed skiing A LOT, and I think that I have potential!!! After some basic and advanced practices, I did try to ski down the hill, and it was AWESOME ! I think Ill try to go skiing as often as possible. A Happy Family幸福的家庭

I have a happy family. Though there is only a little furniture in my home and everything in the rooms seems rather disorderly, I love my home very much.

My father is an engineer, nearly fifty years old. As a Party member, quite often he works late into the night. He even forgets himself when he is reading. Once when having supper, I found that the soup tasted watery. It soon became clear that my father, deep in his reading, had forgotten to put salt in the soup.

I have a kind mother. She is a primary school teacher. She loves her pupils and her job very much and puts all her heart into her work. All our clothes are made by tailors, for she is too busy to sew for us. As a housewife, she has to do almost all the housework. So she is the busiest one in our family.
