Moonquakes are to Mid-Autumn Festival what mince pies are to Christmas. And the moon is what this celebration is all about. Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month，it is the time when the moon is said to be at its brightest and fullest.

There are two legends which claim to explain the tradition of eating moonquakes. One Tang Dynasty myth holds that the Earth once had 10 suns circling it. One day all 10 suns appeared at once，scorching the planet with their heat.

It was thanks to a skillful archer named Hour Yi that the Earth was saved. He shot down all but one of the suns. As his reward，the Heavenly Queen Mother gave Hour Yi the Elixir of Immortality，but she warned him that he must use it wisely.

Hour Yi ignored her advice and，corrupted by fame and fortune，became a tyrannical leader. Chang-Err，his beautiful wife， could no longer stand by and watch him abuse his power so she stole his Elixir and fled to the moon to escape his angry wrath. And thus began the legend of the beautiful woman in the moon，the Moon Fairy.

The second legend has it that during the Yuan Dynasty，an underground group led by Zhu Yuan Zing was determined to rid the country of Mongolian dominance. The moon cake was created to carry a secret message.

When the cake was opened and the message read，an uprising was unleashed which successfully routed the Mongolians. It happened at the time of the full moon，which，some say，explains why moonquakes are eaten at this time.

Moonquakes are usually stamped with Chinese characters indicating the name of the ry and the type of filling used. Some ries will even stamp them with your family name so that you can give personalized ones to friends and family.

They are usually presented in boxes of four which indicate the four phases of the moon. Traditional moonquakes are made with melted lard，but today vegetable oil is more often used in the interests of health.

Moonquakes are not for the diet-conscious as they are loaded with calories. The best way to wash down one of these sticky cakes is with a cup of Chinese tea，especially Jasmine or Chrysanthemum tea，which aids the digestion.

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China。 Everybody

likes it because its a family get-together。 You see it is called"Mid-Autumn

Day"， so it often es in September or October。 It is on the 15th of the 8th of

the lunar month。 Now， lets say something about this interesting festival。

今晚的月亮格外的圆，格外的亮，还有阵阵的清风吹来，非常凉爽。我们全家人聚在一起既庆祝节日，又祝贺我的生日。爷爷给我剥开一个又甜又香的月饼，妈妈给我讲起了嫦娥奔月的故事，我仰望着天空中的月亮，圆圆的月亮悬挂在高空中，露出了甜甜的笑容，仿佛也在祝福我生日快乐。桌上生日蛋糕的蜡烛点燃了，大家为我唱起了生日祝福歌。小姨送给我了一个许愿瓶，我把自己的愿望写在了一张小纸条上，装进了许愿瓶，并且祝福我的愿望能实现。小姨是特意赶回来为我过生日的，她明天就要去日本留学了。我的愿望是：现在要好好学习，将来和小姨一样出国学习国外好的文化，回来报效祖国。

天色已晚，我仍然在想着这个难忘的中秋节，想着我在这个生日中许下的愿望。

“小时不识月，呼作白玉盘。又疑瑶台镜，飞在青云端。”终于，又迎来了一年一度的中秋节。

抬头仰望，星星亮晶晶的，好像无数颗钻石，将夜空点缀得异常美丽。又像仙女洒下的一把宝石。今晚的月亮又大又圆，如同一个大玉盘，又仿佛是一位羞答答的少女，用轻纱遮住了自己的面部，在白雾的拥簇下，停在了夜空中，将夜空点缀得异常美丽。

“吃月饼啦！”随着妈妈的喊声，妈妈端来了一盘月饼，有五仁馅儿的，有豆沙馅儿的，有蛋黄馅儿的……大家都津津有味地吃了起来。其中我最喜欢的是蛋黄馅儿的，咬一口，甜甜的，软软的，好吃极了！吃月饼象征着团圆，就像我们一家人和和美美地在一起。

今晚，月亮高挂。我和家人在这宁静的夜晚一边赏月一边吃月饼，别提多惬意了。这真是一个难忘的中秋节啊！

今天是八月十五中秋节，是全家团圆的节日。可是受凡亚比台风的影响，可能看不见中秋的圆月了。天灰蒙蒙的，还下着雨，我来到阳台，抬头观察了一会儿天色，等了好一会儿，隐约看见月亮的影子，月亮好像和我玩捉迷藏，一躲就躲在乌云里不出来了。

妈妈叫我吃饭了，我想真遗憾，中秋节没有圆月，那还能赏月吗?不管了我要吃大餐了!我想月亮肯定是嫉妒了就跑回家去了。妈妈煮了我最爱吃的排骨、生麦、牛肉……大家都开开心心的吃，太美味了，都吃不下月饼了，好饱啊!爸爸说，晚一点吃月饼，月饼是你最爱吃的双黄的哦。哎，月亮还没出来。

九点多了，我饿了，爸爸叫我把雪碧和红酒拿来，还有月饼，本来是要在楼顶上边吃月饼边赏月的，可是还在下雨，就在客厅吃月饼，喝红酒，吃柚子。今天吃的好多啊!不知胖了没。好开心啊，最喜欢过节这种气氛了。

这个中秋节的夜晚没有看到美丽的圆月，虽然过得遗憾，但也很快乐，快乐的是和家人一起开开心心吃团圆大餐。不过，我想下一年的中秋，那美丽的圆月一定会重新升起。

一年一度的中秋节到了，我的妈妈要带我去姥姥家过节，听到了这个消息后，我高兴的不得了。因为我又能见到我可亲可爱的姐姐、弟弟还有我的姥姥了，我一路上很激动。

一路上，路两旁的杨树非常美，还有各种各样的鲜花，好像都在欢迎我们的到来！不知不觉就到了磴口，啊！磴口还是那样的美啊！街上的鲜花开得真美啊！让人看了眼花缭乱。

到了晚上，我和我的姐姐一起买了一个像我们头大的西瓜。我们还买了桃子、火龙果等等。月亮升起来了，可是月亮就像一个害羞的小姑娘，只露出了半张小脸蛋，不一会儿，月亮姐姐的脸都露出来了。我把装满水果的盘子放在了窗子外面……。更让我难忘的是我给月亮赏吃的时候，我向外面扔了一块西瓜，扔出去后，我竟然没有听到声音，那肯定是月亮吃了吧……

这就是我在姥姥家里的趣事。这个中秋节我吃到了很多东西，我还和姐姐做了游戏，我好开心啊！

前几天，当陈老师宣布：“周四我们要在班级举行中秋节的活动”的时候，这一瞬间，我们班所有的小朋友全都“炸开了锅”，每个人都无比的兴奋！我们队的队长选择了“做月饼”这项任务。

我觉得“做月饼”对于我们男生简直太难了！怎么能让馅不漏出来？月饼的形状又是怎么形成的呢？这些问题都在我的脑海里旋转，让我摸不着头脑！

星期四终于到来了，我们迫不及待地来到教室。我们每个人都像急了得兔子一样，开心得活蹦乱跳。第一个环节就是我们小队“做月饼”。几个阿姨帮我们铺好桌面，发了手套。在老师的一声令下，我们套上了一次性的手套，拿起面团，准备开工。首先，阿姨教我们把每个面团搓成一个圆，然后，用大拇指在面团上轻轻地压一个小窟窿。接着，让我们选择自己喜爱的馅放进这个小窟窿里去。我按照阿姨的方法，一步一步地、小心翼翼的做起来。最考验我们的时候到了。我们要把馅周围的面团慢慢地往上包，直到外面的面团将馅团团包住。到这个时候，我突然明白了阿姨为什么让我们按面团的时候要轻轻地了。因为太用力的话，下面的面皮就会很薄，这样馅就露出来了。最后，我们每个人选择了自己喜爱的模具，做出了各式各样形状的月饼。剩下来就等着进烤箱了！这时，我脑海中的那些烦恼都统统消失了。哇！我的月饼制作完了，大功告成了！

伴随着烤箱中飘出来的香味，我们听完了“勇敢队”的中秋故事、观看了“开心果队”的舞蹈。最后，我们大家一起品尝了亲手制作的月饼，那甜味一直甜到了心底！每个人的脸上都挂满了笑容。我永远都不会忘记这次中秋节活动了！

今年的中秋节，我们家里可热闹了，姑姑带着姐姐和弟弟都来我们家过中秋。中午，奶奶做了一桌丰盛的饭菜，大家高兴的吃了个团圆饭。下午，天气适宜，我们到人民广场去钓鱼，喂鸽子，在我的努力下，还小有收获，钓了两条小金鱼。

晚上，姑姑建议去哥伦布餐厅吃自助，那里有很多好吃的，大家吃的可饱了。夜幕慢慢降临，月亮也露出了笑脸，我们决定到北街去赏月，街上可热闹了，到处充满了节日的气氛，大家脸上都洋溢着幸福的笑容。我们一边赏月，一边往江边走去，不远处，我看见天空中飘着很多孔明灯，姐姐告诉我那是人们通过孔明灯对远方亲人的思念，出于好奇，我们也买了一盏孔明灯，取了一个小火点，孔明灯就慢慢鼓起来了，在风的带动下，升到天空中。天空中的孔明灯越来越多，此时，月亮为了让更多的人看孔明灯的光，就“回家吃月饼”去了。虽然今晚的月亮“偷懒”了，但孔明灯就像一个个月亮照亮着每一个人。江边还有一些人在放莲花灯，各式各样的灯在水中飘动，漂亮极了!

这是我过得最难忘、最快乐的中秋节!
