Chinese New Year or Spring Festival  the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It  sometimes called the "Lunar New Year" by Englh speakers. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; th day  called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year  the longest and most important festivity in the Lunar Calendar. The origin of Chinese New Year  itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions. Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese, Chinese New Year  considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors, as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction. These include Koreans (Seollal), Tibetans and Bhutanese (Losar), Mongolians (Tsagaan Sar), Vietnamese (Tt), and formerly the Japanese before 1873 (Oshogatsu). Outside of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, Chinese New Year  also celebrated in countries with significant Han Chinese populations, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. In countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States, although Chinese New Year  not an official holiday, many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Australia Post, Canada Post, and the US Postal Service sues New Years themed stamps.

Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely. People will pour out their money to buy presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing. It  also the tradition that every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity”. On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper  a feast with families. Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet delicacies. The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by whing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year tradition  a great way to reconcile forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wh peace and happiness for everyone.

Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years, outside China its years are often numbered from the reign of Huangdi. But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars, making the year 2009 "Chinese Year" 4707, 4706, or 4646.

圣诞老人，你是一个神奇的人物。虽然我从来没有见过你，但是我能想象到你的样子。每当12月24日，你会乘着12只驯鹿拉的雪橇，你会挨家挨户从烟囱里扔下礼物。你会满足每个小朋友的圣诞愿望。

今年我也有一个圣诞愿望。我想让阿旺和小黑回到我的身边。阿旺是我爷爷捡回来的一条狗。阿旺不是一条普通的狗。它身上有狼的血性，所以说是一条狼狗。没过多久，阿旺怀孕生下了狗仔小黑。做了母亲的阿旺非常疼爱自己的儿子——小黑。我也很疼小黑，一点磕磕碰碰都不让，更不会让别人欺负它了。

在小黑快五岁的时候，我的爷爷突然得了中风，躺在病床上不能自理。小黑从小就怕打雷。那天我去医院看望爷爷。外面雷电交加，风雨大作。当时奶奶在妹妹家，我一个人又不敢走回家。所以我在医院等妈妈过来接我一起回家。可是妈妈临时有事不能来接我了。

所以一咬牙我就一个人冲进了大雨中。雨太大了，我一路飞奔。朦胧中，我看到两个移动的黑点在朝我跑过来。我很开心，肯定是阿旺和小黑来迎接我回家。可是我太高兴了，忘了前面是红灯，冲了出去。说时迟那时快，阿旺跑到我面前替我挡住了汽车迎面而来的撞击。

车主下车一看，原来撞到的是条狗，没说什么就驱车离开了。我非常无奈，很想找他拼命。可是阿旺的命更重要。想到这，我立马抱起阿旺跑到宠物医院。

医生说“不用做手术了，基本上没救了。”听到这，我不由自主地放声大哭。医生看我实在太伤心，建议给阿旺安乐死。我只能忍痛答应，我不想让阿旺临死前那么痛苦。

圣诞老人，你能再让我看一眼小黑和阿旺吗?你能帮我实现这个愿望吗?

然而，却有人提出：“我们身处科技时代，头也不回地疾行，将故乡、影子和自我统统忘却。”故乡，是我们行走的起点、思想的源头；影子，是足迹，理应和“自我”相伴随的本真。诚然，时代的浪潮席卷着信息与技术的激湍奔流前进，在给予人们强大快捷功能的同时，却一点点吞噬着我们的冷静思考能力和值得夸耀的创造力。如何在疾行之中保持对“思维本真”的铭记？这是一个值得深讨的问题。

萨特曾犀利地表达他对科技的看法：“人类的冷漠和无知皆源于它的侵害。”然而这只是表层意象。其实和科技的弊端一起“为非作歹”的，还有人类的“三心”：菲薄之心，认为自己的观点如“下里巴人”而非“阳春白雪”，不足挂齿；慵懒之心，对于一个命题或者疑问，习惯性地借助网络；顺流之心，甘愿咽下个人的声音，成为“沉默的大多数”。于是，智能时代原属于人类的“智”，渐渐被锁在了知音寥落的舞台，相反科技在掌上眉飞色舞，糜烂的生活姿态大行其道，可谓思想之花的颓败枯萎，灵感乍现的菏泽枯竭，社会文化氛围的日渐浅薄。

正如卓别林在《摩登时代》中所言及的那样：“这个时代不再需要有更多冰冷的机器，它缺少灼热的真知和灵魂。”我们不希望看到越来越多的人在科技的诱导和影响下成为了一台台计算机抑或一具具行尸走肉——失却价值观和同情心。既然总有人喟叹“人生苦短，岁月难留”，那就更应在有限的时间里努力创造属于自己的精神财富，从而增加生命的厚度，扩展“灵魂容量”。懂得运用创造性思维和主观能动性，“用眼泪打破荒芜，用歌声唱响生命”，去感受生活、思考生活、融入生活——我想这是任何一台高科技计算机都无法拥有，更不可能学习到的。

当我们重拾“自我”，带上“影子”，回访“故乡”，再次携批判性精神和创新思维站上生活的舞台，那么“一片花飞减却春”，个人的力量终会汇聚成一片，点亮整个社会的思维火花。火光冲天，照亮前程，我们终会冲破大漠，迎接属于自己的拂晓。

落尽寒梅，期盼新春。跫音响彻，无需蛰伏。在科技时代自由前行的人们，终将扫除飞沙走石连天，涤荡浓云薄雾在胸。在漫天多元中找到最佳平衡点，定会拥抱的，是和谐的社会与自我。

One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people’s health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.

To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.

In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more people means more pollution. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.

2.We can’t live without water, but now the water was polluted. It is the biggest problem. It influences our daily life. So we should find a way to solve this problem. Water is important resources. In our daily life, we often leave the tap on after cleaning hands. Sometimes we often drop litter in the river. So the water was polluted by us. I think we could use a bottle of water two or three times. We have to turn off the tap after cleaning hands.

Let’s try to form a good habit and save things around us. Let’s do it from now on!

Fish can’t live without water. Plants can’t live without water. People can’t live without water, either. As you can see, the water is very important to us. But now drinking water is leand less. The water was polluted seriously.

So we would act quickly in order to save the water, But what must we do nowI think we can plant trees, clean the banks of the river, water the plants by using used water. Turn off the shower while we are washing hair. And we shouldn’t drop litter into the river and so on.

It’s our duty to try our best to protect and save water. And don’t forget that if we don’t save water, the last drop of water will be our tear

Water is very important to us. We can’t live without water. But the drinking water is leand less. Because we waste a lot of water in our daily life. And some of us often throw rubbish into the rivers. So the rivers are polluted seriously.

It’s our duty to save water, we must do something to save water. For example, we shouldn’t pour waste water into the rivers and we should pick up litter around us.
