今年暑假我们去了美丽的南麂岛，南麂岛是由52个岛屿及礁石组成，是我国最早建立的海洋自然保护区，有“珠海仙山”和“贝藻王国”的美誉，有1851种海洋生物在此栖息，各类自然景观共有180多处，十分漂亮。

我们坐了三个小时的火车一个半小时的快艇终于抵达了南麂岛，下了快艇我看见一座座连绵不断的山脉。接着我们又坐上城乡大巴在蜿蜒的羊肠小道上奔驰着，十分惊险，像在坐过山车似的，很快我们便到了我们要住的农家小院。我迫不及待地放下行李，拿上铲子和水桶要去大沙岙找蛤蜊。我们步行来到了大沙岙，海面上浪花朵朵，海水一波又波冲打着沙滩，我们走在金黄色的沙滩上有点烫，这里的沙子又软又细，踩在上面特别舒服，接着我们来到涨潮的地方，这里有很多被海水冲上来的贝壳，那应该会有蛤蜊吧，想到这里，我们便开心地找起了蛤蜊，不一会儿我们便找到了蛤蜊，我也找到了一只大大的蛤蜊，我们又在岩石边上找到了几只很小的螃蟹，收获可不小呢。看着海边游客们冲浪的尖叫声，我们也按奈不住了，我们坐在沙滩上任海水冲打着我们，一浪接一浪的太刺激了。

第二天，我们三点多就起床了，坐上了景区的大巴来了三尾盘看日出。三尾盘上有个很大的天然草坪，足足有五亩地，满是碧绿的青草，像是给大地盖上了一张绿色的地毯。我们坐在草坪上等待太阳的出现，一阵凉爽的海风吹的我们十分舒服，乌云慢慢散开，天空的颜色渐渐变浅，变亮，只见东边海天相接的地方出现了一点亮光，很快天边有了一道红霞，海平面上露出一个红点，啊!太阳出来了，太阳出来了，它慢慢上升，越来越大，越来越亮，最终冲出云层把大海照得闪闪发光，我赶紧拿来相机拍下了这美丽的一瞬间。

三尾盘上还让我感到惊奇的就是海滨长廊，我们沿着海滨长廊走向出口，那里都是一块块自然形成的岩石，没有人造的路，前面好像没有路了，走过去一看又有个山洞可以通过，真是太奇怪了。

南麂岛真是太美了，我把美丽的风景留在了相机里，把美好的记忆都留在了我的脑海里。

Be Grateful to Our Parents

Since we were born， many people help us a lot. We should be grateful to their kindness. But the ones we should show our greatest appreciation are our parents. From the first day we appear in their lives， they give us all their love and care， but never expect anything in return. 学生写作时，如果语句平平，只选用一些普通的、直截了当的词，那么，这样写出来的文章根本没有可阅读行，就像是一碗没有油盐酱醋面条一样，让人提不起一点精神和看下去的欲望，呆板、单调，没有可读性。如果一篇文章要让读者有可读性、有深度，同学们更应该掌握一些高级点词和语句来装饰你的文章，突出这篇文章的彩头，使文章增添文采，给读者以不一样的感受。具体方法可以参照下面的语句：

1. 画龙点睛，一篇文章的开头很重要。

在通常情况下，英语句子的排列方式为“主语+谓语+宾语”，即主语一般都会在谓语前面。但若根据情况适当改变句子的开头方式，比如在文章的开始的时候写一些倒状语句或以状语为起始语句的开头，这样子的文章更具表现力和感染力。如：

(1) There stands an old temple at the top of the hill.

→ At the top of the hill there stands an old temple.

在小山顶上有一座古庙。

(2) You can do it well only in this way.

→ Only in this way can you do it well.

只有这样你才能把它做好。

(3) A young woman sat by the window.

→ By the window sat a young woman.

窗户边坐着一个年轻妇女。

2. 避免重复使用同一词语

为了使表达更生动，更富表现力，同学们在写作时应尽量避免重复使用同一词语来表示同一意思，尤其是一些老生常谈的词语。如有的同学一看到“喜欢”二字，就会立刻想起like，事实上，英语中表示类似意思的词和短语很多，如 love, enjoy, prefer, appreciate, be fond of, care for等。如：

I like reading while my brother likes watching television.

→ I like reading while my brother enjoys watching television.

我喜欢看书，而我的兄弟却喜欢看电视。

3. 合理使用省略句

合理恰当地使用省略句，不仅可以使文章精练、简洁，而且会使文章更具文采和可读性。如：

(1) He may be busy. If he’s busy, I’ll call later. If he is not busy, can I see him now?

→ He may be busy. If so, I’ll call later. If not, can I see him now?

他可能很忙，要是这样，我以后再来拜访。要是不忙，我现在可以见他吗?

(2) If the weather is fine, we’ll go. If it is not fine, we’ll not go.

→ If the weather is fine, we’ll go. If not, not.

如果天气好，我们就去；如果天气不好，我们就不去了。

(3) She could have applied for that job, but she didn’t do so.

→ She could have applied for that job, but she didn’t.

她本可申请这份工作的，但她没有。

4. 适当运用非谓语结构

非谓语结构通常被认为是一种高级结构，适当运用非谓语结构，会给人一种熟练驾驭语言的印象。如：

(1) When he heard the news, they all jumped for joy.

→ Hearing the news, they all jumped for joy.

听了这消息他们都高兴得跳了起来。

(2) As I didn’t know her address, I wasn’t able to get in touch with her.

→ Not knowing her address, I wasn’t able to get in touch with her.

由于不知道她的地址，我没法和她联系。

(3) As he was born into a peasant family, he had only two years of schooling.

→ Born into a peasant family, he had only two years of schooling.

他出生农民家庭，只上过两年学。

5. 结合使用长句与短句

在英语写作中，过多地使用长句或过多地使用短句都不好。正确的做法是，根据实际情况在文章中交替使用长句与短语，使文章显得错落有致，这样不仅使文章在形式上增加美感，而且使文章读起来铿锵有力。如：

At noon we had a picnic lunch in the sunshine. Then we had a short rest. Then we began to play happily. We sang and danced. Some told stories. Some played chess.

→ At noon we had a picnic lunch in the sunshine. After a short rest, we had great fun singing and dancing, telling jokes and playing chess.

中午我们晒着太阳吃野餐。休息一会儿后，我们唱的唱歌，跳的跳舞，还有的讲笑话、下棋，大家玩得很开心。

6. 适当使用短语代替单词

(1) He has decided to be a teacher when he grows up.

→ He has made up his mind to be a teacher when he grows up.

他已决定长大了当老师。

(2) He doesnt like music.

→ He doesnt care much for music.

他不大喜欢音乐。

(3) He told me that the question was now under discussion.

→ He told me that the question was now being discussed.

7. 恰当套用某些固定表达

(1) He was very tired. He couldn’t walk any farther.

→ He was too tired to walk any farther.

他太累了，不能再往前走了。

(2) The film was very interesting. Both the teachers and the students liked it.

→ The film was so interesting that both the teachers and the students liked it.

这电影很有趣，学生和老师都很喜欢。

(3) Your son is old. He can look after himself now.

8. 尽量使句子带点“洋味”

(1) Dont worry. Be bold and try it, and youll learn it soon.

9. 综合使用各类所谓的“高级”结构

(1) Now everyone knows the news. I think Jim must have let it out.

→ Now everyone knows the news. I think it must have been Jim who has let it out.

现在人人都知道这消息了，我想一定是吉姆把它泄露出去的。

(2) We had to stand there to catch the offender.

→ What we had to do was (to) stand there, trying to catch the offender.

我们所能做的只是站在那儿，设法抓住违章者。

(3) If her pronunciation is not better than her teacher’s, it is at least as good as her teacher’s.

→ Her pronunciation is as good as, if not better than, her teacher’s.

如果她的语音不比她的老师好的话，至少也不会比她老师的差。

10. 适当使用名言警句点缀

在写作时根据实际情况恰当地用上一两句名言警句来点缀文章，不仅使文章显得有深度、有智慧，而且会让文章在评分中上一个“得分档次”。如：

(1) As the proverb says, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” Though you fail this time, you needn’t lose heart. As long as you work hard and stick to your dream, you will succeed one day.

(2) There is a proverb goes like this “Life isn’t a bed of roses.” It is ture that it is likely for everyone to meet problems and difficulties in life.

I am highly disappointed in the proposed 2004-05 budget cuts to educa1ion. Taking away basic aid status and slashing our school budgets is a recipe for educational disaster in our school. The future lies with our children. They must have access to high quality educa1ion.

My husband and I have worked hard to be able to live in a school district that provides high quality education for our children. Cutting funding in districts like ours will have a negative impact on property values.

The school that my daughter attends is hardly wha1 I would describe as a "rich" school. Parents are asked to pay for books for all the classes, science supplies and for their students to participate in the performing arts among other items. If our school is to remain a world leader in technological development, cutting our school funds is the worst possible choice to make.

As we all know, pollution is harmful to living beings. There are many

different types of pollutions in this world. For instance, water pollution, air

pollution, noise pollution and so on. Water pollution cause many kinds of

disease that have negative effects on human beings, sometimes the diseases will

take people’s life away. Dirty air will increase the rate of getting lung

cancer. While the noise pollution will cause insomnia. People’s health condition

In my humble opinion, people should take measures to control the pollution.

今天下午，我们濮阳县第一实验小学中的六十名同学（我也在内），去一所学校比赛。第一个上场的就是我们，当时我们排好队形后，我特别紧张，但是看到指挥老师那灿烂的笑容后，我就不那么紧张了。

昨天，上午举行的是60米跑步比赛，下午就是实心球和立定跳远比赛。比赛前，老师对我们说：“大家一定要一鼓作气，因为我们争的是一口气！”我暗暗下定决心：一定要取得好成绩，为班级争光。

站在三年级女子实心球运动员的队伍中，我心里好像有一只小兔子，咚咚咚地跳着，生怕自己扔不好。终于轮到我了，我使劲向前一扔，四米九，不错。但还是要再接再厉，因为四米九毕竟不是我的最好成绩。

第二次，我扔的时候跳了起来，可惜，超线了，结果被“零分处理”。我垂头丧气地回到队伍里，心想：“完了，完了，肯定赢不了了！”我急得差点哭起来。

第三次，我给自己打气：“不管是输是赢，一定要拼到最后。对，拼了！”于是，我拿起实心球，把我的信心和实心球一起扔了出去。这次，实心球好像能看出我的心思，特意“飞”得远了一点儿——我扔了四米九五！

三次扔完后，我和两位同学一起回班。到了教室，老师说的话我一点儿也没有听进去，我只是仔细地听广播。当我听到广播里读三年级女子实心球获奖名单中有我的名字时，我的嘴都咧到脑后去了……

encouraging for the contestants. The contestants listened with confidence and

strove hard to paddle, and the water splashed everywhere. Each dragon boat

比赛仍在紧张地进行着，可对手在最后分出胜负的时候把球一射，进了球门，我方输了!我们输了，我们沮丧地围在一起，还有位队员都哭了，另一位队员说：“没关系，我们下次一定能赢!”足球场外传来：“9班必胜9班必胜”原来是同学们让我们有了几分安慰。

我在这次比赛中启发很大，团结才有力量，遇到什么事情不能灰心，遇到困难要勇敢的去面对，团队就是一个整体，团结就是胜利!

比赛结束了，我们班输了。
