Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

I read the Chinese version of “Camille” a few years ago. At that time I was deeply moved by the main character Marguerite Gautier. “Camille” or “The Lady of the Camellias” by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is the story of Marguerite Gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800s, and how she falls in love with a young man, Armand Duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. Unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was a noble woman at heart. When I first began to read the book, I did not care for Marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as I got further into the narrative, I realized that her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. She felt used, abused and unloved, until the gentle Armand Duval came into her life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not for what she could do for him. It must have taken great courage for Marguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing all along that it was probably too good to be true and would not last indefinitely. And it also showed that Marguerite really loved Armand Duval for she could even change herself for him.

However, happiness didn’t last for long. When M. Duval, Armands father, came to her, pleading for her to leave Armand to save both Armands reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, Marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. She felt that it was her duty, because she loved Armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting Armand temporarily. She reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day Armand would forgive her. Sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, Julie Duprat, who helped her during her illness. She had her journal sent to Armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. I think Dumass last few lines about Marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and I also agreed with his view that while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. A person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. This applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. And this is the fact, which exists in the whole society.

As far as the other characters in the book, I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being Armand and Julie Duprat. Of course, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. wanted her body and appearance. The Duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. And lastly, Prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used Marguerite almost worse than the men. I also think she was jealous of the fact that Marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.

When I read “ the big marlin start fast to gather round the young fishing boat hover, twined the cable on the mast, the old person right hand lifted up high the steel fork, leapt the water surface in it the flash, did utmost throws to its heart, one wail ended the big fishs life, it was static static floats on the water surface… ” When, my heart also liked together the big stone falls. I extremely admire old person that kind do not dread, the relentless spirit, although knows the match strength is very strong, but he not slightly flinches, but is welcomes difficultly above. Just because had this kind of spirit, the senior fisherman only then achieved this life and death contest success. We also must study senior fishermans spirit in life, handles the matter does not fear the difficulty, only then can obtain successfully.

读了《老人与海》这本书，我感到无比的感动。

《老人与海》写的是古巴老渔夫圣地亚哥在连续8天没捕到鱼的情况下，终于独自钓上了一条大马林鱼，但是这条鱼实在太大了，把他的小船在海上拖了三天才筋疲力尽，被渔夫杀死绑在小船的一边在归程中一再找到鲨鱼的袭击，最后回港时只剩下鱼头鱼尾和一条脊骨。

这是多么坚强的渔夫啊，独自一人去捕鱼，在多次受到鲨鱼的撕咬下，渔夫辛辛苦苦捕捞的大马林鱼，就这样变成了鱼骨。面对这样巨大的损失，渔夫并不在乎，还能以阳光的心态来面对。如果我们能学习渔夫坚持不懈的优秀品格的话，那么我们就会取得很好的成绩。

渔夫坚持不懈的精神让我想到我的学习，我的学习总是时好时坏，并不稳定，那是因为我的学习总是不坚持做课后习题，每天只读半小时的书就算完成作业了。如果成绩不好的话就奋起直追，然后就渐渐好了起来。如果成绩好的话，又“旧病复发”了。如果把鱼夫坚持不懈的精神用到学习上，那么我们的成绩将永远到是好的。

如今，我一想到《老人与海》这本书，我就感到无比的感动和无限的反思。

在墨西哥湾住着一个平凡的老人，但在他的身上却演绎着一段极为不平凡的故事。大海见证了这一段不平凡的故事。

小说描写的是一个年近六十的老渔夫，在一次单身出海打鱼时钓到一条大鱼。却拉不上来、老渔夫同鱼周旋了几天后，才发现这是一条超过自己渔船两英尺的大马林鱼，虽明知很难取胜。但仍不放弃。后来又因大马林鱼伤后上的鱼腥味引来了几群鲨鱼抢食。但老人仍不愿意就这样放弃。最终突出重围。将大鱼骨架带回了渔湾。让其他渔夫佩服不已。

在这个颇具悲剧色彩的故事中。却表现了一个伟大的人物、——渔夫桑提亚哥。他连续84天捕不到鱼，在别人看来他是一个失败者。一个渔夫连鱼都捕不到他还是一个真正的渔夫吗？但是他并没有放弃。第85天出海捕鱼。他的这种坚持不懈的精神难道不值得我们学习吗？

爱迪生研究灯泡也是经过长时间的经验和实验才最终成功的，如果他当初觉得研究灯泡太麻烦了那么还会有我们现在的灯火阑珊的生活吗？如今的我们缺少的就正是这种用于挑战坚持不懈的冲劲如果有了渔夫桑提亚哥的这种精神我相信没有什么是战胜不了的没有什么高山时爬越补过去的。

记得文中的老人曾说过这样一段话“人不是为失败而生，一个人可以被毁灭。但是绝对不可以被打败“不正是向我们阐明了这个道理吗？作为有理想有思想的高级动物。我们不应该害怕失败。没有谁是面对每件事都有十足的把握。我们都是公平的。但是人与人的结局却并不是百分之百的一样，区别就是有的人勇于尝试不害怕失败。一次不行可以再来但是有的人害怕失败永远都输不起差距就此拉开在弱者面前失败是倾覆生活之舟的波涛，波涛越大他就越容易被吞噬但是我相信不是所有人都是弱者。那么作为一个强者就不应该面对失败消沉悲观就不应该因为沮丧而停止追求。

《老人与海》这本书教会了我很多很多它确实是一本好书一本让人受益终身的好书！

这一星期，我读了《老人与海》这本书，这是欧内斯特·海明威获得诺贝尔奖的一本书。

《老人与海》这部仅百余页的中篇小说向读者诠释了生命的高贵与尊严。小说的主人公是一名叫圣地亚哥的古巴老渔夫，他独自出海打渔，84天依然一无所获。到了第85天终于钓上了一条马林鱼，老人经历三天三夜才制服这条大鱼，之后又遭遇了鲨鱼的袭击，老人奋力对抗鲨鱼，但最后留给他的只有鱼骨头……

虽然老人只得到了一副鱼骨架，但他是一个精神胜利者!他说：“人不是以失败为生的……一个人可以被毁灭，但不能被打败。”他与大海搏斗了三天三夜，在极度的饥饿、疲劳、困倦、伤痛和孤单中，他始终没有放弃，表现出了“重压下的优雅风度”和人类不屈不挠的精神。

海明威通过老人与海的内心表白，表现了他对自然关系的思考：自然法则是人类不可抗拒的，我们崇尚人对自然不屈不挠的斗争，也崇尚人与自然的和谐共处。

我是一名小学四年级学生，每天在学校读书，学习，与伙伴玩耍。不必面对什么惊涛骇浪，更不用与谁英勇搏斗。但是故事里老人面对艰难的毅力和斗志是值得所有人学习的。他带给我们的除了生命的尊严和勇气之外，还有鼓励。不管遇到任何状况，都应该坚强冷静，如果你浮躁，成功将离你远去!

点评：《老人与海》书的内容看似简单，其实蕴含着许多值得人深思的问题。小作者能透过语言文字，有所思考，有所收获，是很值得学习的。

The novel opens with the famous line, "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.". and ends with two marriages: Jane and Bingleys, as well as Darcy and Elizabeths. Both couples are assumed to live happily ever after.

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Bennet is the core of the family. Elizabeth is the second of Mr. and Mrs. Bennets five daughters, and is an intelligent, bold, attractive twenty-year-old when the story begins. In addition to being her fathers favourite, Elizabeth is characterized as a sensible, yet stubborn, woman. Misled by his cold outward behaviour, Elizabeth originally holds Mr. Darcy in contempt. However, she finds that Mr. Darcy improves on acquaintance, more so than she would expect.

Fitzwilliam Darcy (commonly known as Mr. Darcy) is the central male character and Elizabeths second love interest in the novel. He is an intelligent, wealthy, extremely handsome and reserved 28-year-old man, who often appears haughty or proud to strangers but possesses an honest and kind nature underneath. Initially, he considers Elizabeth his social inferior, unworthy of his attention, but he finds that, despite his inclinations, he cannot deny his feelings for Elizabeth. His initial proposal of marriage is rejected because of his pride and Elizabeths prejudice against him; however, at the end of the novel, after their relationship has blossomed, he is happily engaged to a loving Elizabeth.

当你遇上挫折，你会怎么办?

或许，你会逃避，找了个避风的港湾;

或许，你会选择哭泣，用泪水清洗伤心欲绝的心灵;

或许，你会选择求救，寻找可以依靠的独木舟，抑或只是一根树枝。

曾记否，海明威的《老人与海》，主人公——老人桑提亚哥，面对着凶猛的恶鱼，硬是拖着疲惫的身子与之进行不懈的抗争，整整八十一天!他胜了，胜得坦荡!他像一面旌旗，立在海岸上，面对着浩瀚的大海和汹涌的波涛，无语，只是挺着胸脯，以撼人的气魄迎着海风猎猎作响!

“一个人可以被消灭，却不能够被打败!”强而有力的音符从桑提亚哥的嘴里，不，是从心里涌出，他虽是一个虚构的人物，但他的精神却是真实的，他的精神是活的，是震撼人心的!

桑提亚哥，一位沧桑的老人，以他的实际行动演绎了他的誓言：一个人可以被消灭，但是不可以被打败!小说中的老人犹如此，我们哪?我们现实的人呢?

对我们来说，很多同学在学习过程中一次考试的失利都会一蹶不振，失去前行的勇气从而丧失学习的信心。读完《老人与海》这本书后，让我们真正领悟到了有挫折并不可怕，关键是要勇于面对挫折，并不屈不挠顽强的去战胜它。

生活就像一条溪流，有过平淌，有过激进，更会有阻遇。生活，如同大海有风平浪静，也会有海浪，更会有海啸!我们不能奢求生活的一帆风顺，每个人在生活中定会遭遇挫折，关键是我们应怎样面对挫折。

当挫折来临时，不要害怕，不要恐慌，要勇敢面对!

我们要知道，成长的路上有阳光，有风雨，我们要学会与命运抗争，要笑着完成每一次作业，笑着完成每一次考试，笑着面对困难与挫折，笑着度过每一天，让挫折成为我们成长的阶梯，挫折就会为你更为精彩的人生喝彩!

记得一句话：“当死神露出他的尖牙对我笑时，我能做的就是对之报以一笑!”很欣赏作者的风度，也想学着吟一句：当挫折一步步靠近时，我们能做的是操起自信的矛和坚强的盾，勇敢的迎上去!

是的，自信和坚强是战胜挫折的有力法宝，怯弱和退缩只能助长挫折气焰。试想，一个人还没有和挫折交锋就已发抖，又怎么能战胜挫折哪?

梦想就在前方，努力地去争取吧，可能在通往梦想的道路上会遇到数不尽的艰辛、苦难，但，一旦你朝着梦想努力，总有一天你会达到目标，并且为自己而自豪。有的时候，已经到了，梦想却从你身边溜走，也许你会失望，会灰心，但请不要这样，回头看看，看看你经历过的一切，你战胜过多少艰难险阻，你已经何等的勇敢！

在这篇文章里，处处刻画出了桑提亚哥的性格，他孤独，乐观，计划做事，不打无准备之仗，他目标远大，永不言弃。这些性格都给了我们种种启示。

他曾有妻子，但已去世的妻子只成了画像。他也有过年轻时的辉煌，并曾在角力中荣获过人人羡慕的“冠军”。但是现在，他却成了一面古老破败、伤痕累累的旗。他不再梦见风暴，不再梦见伟迹，不再梦见大鱼，不再梦见搏斗，不再梦见角力，不再梦见他的妻子。现在的他，仿佛已一无所有。但是，他不被孤独所羁绊，依然努力地工作着，偶尔也会有怀念，但是他知道，他拥有整片大海！他告诉我们——人，要懂得耐住寂寞。

84天没钓到一条鱼！这是给一个渔人多么大的打击！可是桑提亚哥并不灰心，他乐观的对待一切。他知道，只有保持一颗积极向上，乐观的心，他才能永不止步的前进下去。生活中的我们也要保持乐观的心态，不要消极处事。当然，乐观不代表“傻开心”，而是一种对生活的积极态度。——请保持乐观，这是桑提亚哥给我们的启示。
