I had a great time throughout my may day holiday.

On monday, i went bbq with my classmates who threw a celebration party at our middle school principles flat. our parents were invited to the party. everybody was excited about the holiday. i ate a lot of delicious food at that time.

On tuesday, i went visiting my uncles family with my parents. we went to celebrate our good time at a fancy restaurant in shanghai. later that day, we sang karaoke in my uncles house. we stayed for the night.

On wednesday, i went shopping with my cousins. we bought some brand name t-shirts and pants. in the afternoon, my cousins gave me a fun ride on the city highway. they also taught me how to drive their fancy car, so i tried to do some turning and parking. it was not easy first. but i learnt quick.

on thursday, we returned home with many gifts from our trip. i tried to get some rest. at night, i chatted with my classmates on the phone, and i watched cctv before going to bed.

From friday on, i started to finish up my homework assignments on my personal laptop. some of my assignments were quite boring. after i finished the homework, i emailed them to my teachers. that was the end of it. i started to prepare things for school on this coming monday.

The boy students in our clawere preparing to run for monitor. Hearing the news, we girls were full of iaterest and curiosity. We were in bigh spirits and went to listen to their competltive speech. We decided to put our sacred vote to the most suitable person after careful consideration.

The first one who stood up to speak was Yin Xing, who was very active in physical and recreational activities. He pledged to enrich our school life by leading us in singing and dancing and playing games.

The second speaker was Tong Sheng, who was smart and ceonomical and good at planning, He said be would arrange fox our budget in claactivities.

The speeches went on. My eyes fell on Jiang Xin, who sat in a corner, listening attentively. That boy was quiet and always readyto help others in their studies. He could play basketball and dance gracefully. I asked him why he did not run for monitor. He said he was no good. Hearing us talking, someone shouted,"Jiang Xin, why not join in and run for monitor?" Jiang Xin stood up. embarrassed,"I am no good. If anyone is in need of me, I am ready to help. Thats all."

The time had come for us to count the votes. And to my delight ,Jiang Xin received the most votes and was elected monitor.

The Lantern Festival (元宵节) is the last day of the Chinese New Year celebration.

This day is for the last moment for setting off fireworks, the last excuse for eating a big feast and the last chance for family getting together before the “年” celebrations are over. (Latern Festival is also a traditional time of celebration for foreigners who live in China).

The Lantern Festival, the 15th of the first month of the lunar calendar, is the first full moon of the year.

Celebrations and traditions on this day date back to the Western Han Dynasty.

Traditions for this festival: as the name indicates, hanging and looking at lanterns is the main tradition.

Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are displayed on trees, or along river banks.

Parents often take their children to Lantern Fairs and sometimes lucky kids even get a mini toy lantern.

Another tradition is guessing lantern riddles. These are riddles that are hung on lanterns for people to shoot down and solve. The riddles are usually short, wise, and sometimes humorous.

The answer to a riddle can be a Chinese character, a famous persons name, a place name or a proverb. This tradition has become a popular game with serious staying power even as social development changes other traditions.

Other than that, the most important thing to do today is to eat sweet dumplings. In northern China, sweet dumplings made of glutinous rice flour are called “元宵” while in southern part they are called “汤圆”.

Typical sweet dumplings are filled with black sesame sauce, sweetened bean paste, or hawthorn. Making “元宵” today is like a game or an activity, so its seldom done without a reason and a group of friends or family present to help out.

有些山泉水能够喝，但有些不能喝，如误饮会引起中毒。呵呵，当然我们所住的小区后山的山泉水都是经过检验局检测过的，无毒，适合人们去饮用，也上了新闻，登了报纸，能够放心去打山水，我与姑姑每个人拿几个小桶，是哪种装食用油的桶，洗干净拿来装水还不错，准备好一根扁担，没错的，是扁担哦，用来挑水用的，出发了，经过大楼楼道走，有一条小路一向通往山上的，路上不时有些阿姨叔叔，靓女帅哥，小孩婆婆，手提的，用车拉，挑着，怎样方便怎样拿吧，陆陆续续都回来，后面也有一些阿姨也拿桶在后面跟着来的，一到山根下，就有一股凉风吹过来，个性舒服，山上有些水流出来，有些阿姨就利用那些衣洗衣服，种菜，都是无机的蔬菜瓜果，看着都眼馋吧！沿着流出来的水往里走，远远就看到很多人都围在一个小水池旁边，大人小孩，阿姨叔叔，很多人呢，都在等着打水，有好心人做了几个专门打水的小勺子，方便人们一勺一勺打进小桶

第二天的晚上，我们在漓江边观看了一场别开生面的演出——印象刘三姐，这可是著名导演张艺谋花了五年的时间编排的，演员都是当地的渔民和一些少数民族，火把，渔船，锣鼓，歌舞……那副场景真可谓是壮观，遗憾的是天色太暗，距离也比较远，照相机拍不清楚。

转眼到了第三天， 我们来到了森林氧吧，那里的空气豁然清新，一进门，大家都忙着换草鞋，戴头盔，不知道了吧！我们马上就要开始刺激的行程——爬瀑布！我也是第一次听说这么新鲜的事，平时我们只能抬头观赏瀑布，可从没亲自爬过瀑布，那一定非常好玩，刺激。这瀑布一共分为三级，第一和第三级有一定难度，小孩是不能爬的，我只能跟着导游叔叔走旱路，边走边看着平时胆小的妈妈在水中攀登着，心里可着急了，好不容易到了第二级，我可以亲身体验一回了。我的手紧紧拉住铁链，脚踩着一个个小石孔，水的冲击力很大，真是看着容易，爬起来难啊，我浑身上下都被水溅得湿淋淋的，但我还是一步一步地向上爬，终于爬到了第二级的终点，心里美滋滋的，这一次爬瀑布不仅好玩，还使我懂得了只要有坚强勇敢的精神，就一定能取得胜利！

今天，我参加了假日小队活动，活动地点在浙江省科技馆。一大早，我就拿着我的科学小发明——空气炮和队友们一起出发了。

到了科技馆，我们兴高采烈地冲了进去，开始热火朝天地摆起了展示台。摆好后，我开始欣赏别人的作品：有的是多功能浇水壶，有的是用scratch制作的小游戏，有的是密封袋，还有的是烫不坏的手帕。我心里有点害怕，因为我的空气炮跟他们做的比起来，似乎有点微不足道。

紧张片刻后，我开始卖力的推荐我的作品，终于，一位老爷爷走来观看空气炮，我兴奋地帮他点燃蜡烛，并告诉他操作方法，“啪”的一声，蜡烛灭了，他新奇地看着，问了我原理、材料、制作方法、如何加大威力……等一系列问题，简直让我应接不暇。不一会儿，又来了一个小队，他们把我们的所有项目一一试了一遍。可是到我这里，他们每人试了好几遍，让我高兴极了。然而，就在这时，气球皮“撕拉”一声被撕成两半，空气炮坏了。我差点哭了出来，多亏朋友安慰我，才停止了伤心，接下来，我只能沮丧地坐在旁边看别人展示。

从开始的忐忑不安，到后来的开心满足，接着却又乐极生悲，今天真是悲喜交集、精彩纷呈的一天！
