The main importance of goal setting is that it provides us with direction and purpose. When we have goals, we know what we want to achieve so that we can focus our mindson a single worthwhile target and avoid getting distracted easily. Personal goal setting also provides us with motivation to achieve what we want to achieve.

Goal setting is of especial significance for today’s students. A study reveals that when students set goals, they learn the importance of taking responsibility, of minimizing excuses and of helping others. Goal setting is a lifelong skill that first helps students succeed in school and then later in life.

今天是国庆节，吃完早饭，我打开电视机。今天的节目跟每天的不一样，都是有关国庆节的事，到了十点钟，电视就开始直播国庆节阅兵了，我和爸爸妈妈坐在电视机旁开始观看起阅兵仪式。

首先看到的是__爷爷站在城楼上讲话，过了一会儿__爷爷站在红旗轿车上检阅解放军叔叔。胡爷爷向叔叔阿姨挥手问好，叔叔阿姨也向胡爷爷问好。轿车走了一圈，胡爷爷又站到城楼上准备检阅。过了一会儿，解放军叔叔迈着整齐的步伐走向广场。当叔叔们走到广场前时，叔叔们又踢起了正步，非常整齐。我真是太羡慕他们了，他们可真神气呀。

然后是检阅坦克部队，看到那么多的坦克，我在心里想：我们的祖国可真威风呀。有的车窗户不大点儿，有的车上带着火箭，还有的车上带着飞机。我以前从来没看见过这些武器呀。接下来是检阅飞机，有那么多喷彩气的小飞机，有直升飞机，有战斗机，还有运输机，他们排成各式各样的队伍，可好看了。

下面是群众队伍和彩车队伍，那么多的人和彩车，太壮观了。有的彩车带着和的画像，还有各省的彩车。最后是少年儿童队伍，那么多的哥哥和姐姐，他们可真幸运呀。其中有一个哥哥和一个姐姐站在花篮里摆手。底下的哥哥和姐姐举着气球，气球是四个小的和一个大的组成的。他们走到前，一齐把手中的气球放飞。天空中飘着五彩的气球，真是太漂亮了，我真为我们的祖国感到骄傲啊。

历时两个半小时的国庆大阅兵让十三亿中华儿女感到无比的骄傲和自豪，他让全世界的人见证了祖国的强大，让中华儿女看见了祖国的繁荣昌盛。我也一定要努力学习，为祖国的美好明天贡献自己的力量。

My name is Wang Xiaoming. I’m 14 years old, from Zhen Jiang Zhong Shan Road Primary School. It’s a beautiful school, and I love it very much.  我叫XXX。今年14岁。我来自镇江中山路小学，这是一所美丽的学校，我很喜欢它。

I’m a happy and talented boy. I like to make friends with others, and I get on well with my classmates. Basketball is my favorite sport. I always play basketball in my spare time. Through this game, I get many benefits.  我是一个快乐、聪明的男生。我喜欢交朋友，并且我和班上同学相处的很好。篮球是我最喜欢的运动，我经常在空余时间去打篮球。通过这项游戏，我获得了很多有益的东西。

At school, I study Chinese, Math, English, History, and so on. I like all of them. And I’m doing well in my study. I’m interested in learning English very much. I believe that I will do well in future. I won’t let you down.  在学校，我学了语文、数学、英语、历史等课程。我很喜欢这些可能，并且好好学习它们。我很有兴趣学习英语，并且我相信我能学好它。我不会让你失望的。
