As a chinese, I was really ashamed of having a little knowledge of dragon boat festival. Perhaps I was born in northern city, though my city is nearby sea, it has been built a U port which I can only see cargo ships and can t see the sweeping ocean. So I have never see the dragon boat contest since I was born. So the dragon boat festival is just a holiday for eating Zong Zi . My mother made Zong Zi when I was a child. Because there was no supermarket, we couldn t buy finished product from market. However, now, we can buy anything in supermarket, so my mother didn t make them anymore. The boat festival began to fade out my mind.

In reality, young people began to have a bug to celebrate foreign festivals, such as Christams, Saint Valentine s day, April Fool s Day, some people also celebrate Easter in church. Talk about Dragon boat festival, it s the same as some foreign conventional festivals, such as Witch s Day in Czech. People burned the witch s puppet so as to welcome spring. Some people are willing to celebrate foreign festivals because they like alien culture. And vice versa, foreigners who like China also concern about Chinese traditional culture.

After new holiday regulation, we have three holidays during the dragon boat festival. So many people will choose this time to travel. People who lived in Xiamen are able to visit Xiapu or Wu Yi mountain, these tourist attractions are in Fujian province,which is suit a short tirp. but I d like to stay at home for my decorate painting. Now, the new semester has begun for more than one week. I gradually adapt

to my new life in senior school. In senior school, my biggest feeling is busy,

for I have classes all the day and teachers leave us a lot of homework. In the

morning, I have two periods for morning reading, Chinese and English, beginning

from 7:00. After that, I have four periods in the morning and four other in the

afternoon. There are many more subjects than in middle school, Chinese, math,

English, physics, chemistry, history and so on. Sometimes, I am afraid of seeing

so many textbooks in my desk. In addition, the contents are much more difficult

than before. Math and physics are the most difficult ones for me. No matter how

problem and overcome difficulties.

The lengthy holidays have caused unexpected great travel craze and brisk economic activities. holiday spending, however, adds fuel to the Chinese economy, which in turn leads to the creation of a new term “holiday economy” and it sparks a hot debate about it. However, others overstate its disadvantages and hold that it brings undeniable problems. First, the travel craze puts a heavy burden on the traffic system, causing serious traffic jams. Besides, thousands and thousands of tourists flood scenic spots, jamming railway stations and airports, causing some over crowdedness and safety problems. Therefore, we shouldnt neglect the new problems. I believe its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages. After all, it greatly benefits our overall economy. Finally, I suggest the government take effective measures to solve the aforementioned problems. Only in this way can we let the golden week economy develop in a sound way.

My sister was fond of traveling. Ever since graduating, she had been

determined to organize a trip to an old temple. Since transporting fare was

expensive, she decided to use a bicycle to cycle there not caring about the

disadvantages. Her stubborn attitude was always her shortcoming. Once she made

up her mind to do something, no one could persuade her to change her mind.

Finally, we gave in as usual though we preferred to take a train. After we

prepared everything, including the schedule, reliable weather forecast and the

insurance, we began our trip.

Generation gap refers to the misunderstanding between the old and young.

The term came into fashion after the 1980s. However, in recent years, the

phenomenon is getting more and more fierce.

How does generation gap come into being? The first reason is that the two

generations have grown up in different ages, thus they have different attitudes

toward life. Secondly, due to having little in common with each other, they are

unwilling to sit down and talk face to face. Besides, as modern life is so

stressful, both of them are so busy with their study or work that they have not

enough time to exchange their ideas.

To bridge the generation gap is not easy at all, but we can do something to

shorten it. For one thing, children should respect their parents as well as

accept their good advice. For another, parents should not only show their love

and care to the kids, but also support their good life view. As long as the old

and young can understand each other, it would be more harmonious in family and

world.

My mother is sixty-three years old, and for the last forty year she has

been the village doctor. She has a small clinic that she prepares medicine and

treats small injuries, and also sells canned powder milk. Our house has people

in and out at all hours of the day and night. The villagers always like to come

to her clinic to see the doctor and to meet their neighbors, too. Almost all the

villagers come to my mother when their baby is due. My mother is very good at

predicting the day the baby will come. Sometimes my mother will not get enough

sleep if the babies come late at night or early in the morning. There are

special rooms for the mother and baby, and usually they stay at the doctors

house about twenty-four hours. We always like to see the new babies get their

first bath because they look so red and small. All the village people know and

trust my mother because she is such a quiet, kind, and experienced friend of

theirs.

In the winter vacation life I have seen such a story to share with you:
