Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are displayed on trees, or along river banks.

Another tradition is guessing lantern riddles. These are riddles that are hung on lanterns for people to shoot down and solve. The riddles are usually short, wise, and sometimes humorous.

The answer to a riddle can be a Chinese character, a famous persons name, a place name or a proverb. This tradition has become a popular game with serious staying power even as social development changes other traditions.

Other than that, the most important thing to do today is to eat sweet dumplings. In northern China, sweet dumplings made of glutinous rice flour are called “元宵” while in southern part they are called “汤圆”.

Typical sweet dumplings are filled with black sesame sauce, sweetened bean paste, or hawthorn. Making “元宵” today is like a game or an activity, so its seldom done without a reason and a group of friends or family present to help out.

The term American Dream was first used by James Adams in his book The Epic of America which was written in 1931. People are living longer, more healthful lives, and that’s a good thing. But it means there are fewer people dying and more people being born. Eventually we’ll have less space, fewer resources, and major distribution problems. If we can find another planet to live on, we can relieve the problems of overpopulation on our planet.

It’s a tragedy that there are human beings suffering on Earth. However, if we wait until everyone has a perfect life, we will never explore space—and that , too, would be a kind of tragedy.

People have different views about whether we are more or less dependent on others nowadays. In my view, modern life forces us to be more independent than people were in the past.

There are two main reasons why it could be argued that we are more dependent on each other now. Firstly, life is more complex and difficult, especially because the cost of living has increased so dramatically. For example, young adults tend to rely on their parents for help when buying a house. Property prices are higher than ever, and without help it would be impossible for many people to pay a deposit and a mortgage. Secondly, people seem to be more ambitious nowadays, and they want a better quality of life for their families. This means that both parents usually need to work full-time, and they depend on support from grandparents and babysitters for child care.

However, I would agree with those who believe that people are more independent these days. In most countries, families are becoming smaller and more dispersed, which means that people cannot count on relatives as much as they used to. We also have more freedom to travel and live far away from our home towns. For example, many students choose to study abroad instead of going to their local university, and this experience makes them more independent as they learn to live alone. Another factor in this growing independence is technology, which allows us to work alone and from any part of the world.

In conclusion, while there are some reasons to believe that people now depend on each other more, my own view is that we are more independent than ever.

篇17:美国独立日

说到自由,美|国应该是挺自由的,笔者从一些美|国的心理学书籍中了解到许多美|国年轻人都吸|毒,据说在美|国吸大|麻是不违法的?我并不知道是不是,不过应该是的吧,大麻的剂量应该是比较轻的。

美|国的自由,是由很多细密的法律组成的,美|国法律多,执行力也强。插一句抛开爱国心,他们的法律做的比我们国家好多了。比如说在我们国家的校园欺凌,严重的有拍裸照发网上去,强迫吃沙子等,光看着都挺怕的,但一发生了是很少判刑的,挺多拘留十五天,赔一万多或几千多就完事了。这些判决比起受害者受到的精神创伤是不可比的,不过笔者并不是怪我们国家的法律执行力不强,除开法律因为未成年人而从轻,民众也不支持判个什么,都认为不过是小孩子打架,能发生什么。即使真的判个邢,施害者的家属也会去闹事,所以其实那些判决人也挺无奈的

但在美|国,笔者虽然不是很了解,不过也看过一条新闻,大概就是校园里发生了欺凌事件,给判了一年多。在某一期的暴走大事件里,主场人王尼玛对比了这两种校园欺凌的后果,看得不禁沉思。

再说说平等,不知道是初一还是初二的地理书说美|国的民族歧视很严重,其实并不是很严重,不然奥|巴|马怎么当上总统的?不过前段时间倒是有在美黑人举行了游行反对歧视什么的,我倒认为这游行和中|国的反日游行一个道理,毁坏了公物气了别人,结果也没个啥用处。所以没什么好说的。

最后是民主,今天是独立日,就把美|国的独立宣言贴上来:

1776年7月4日美|国通过《独立宣言》,核心内容是:1、造物主之下,人人生而平等;2、生命权,自由权,追求幸福等权利乃天赋入权,不可剥夺;3、政府权力是人民授予的。如果政府滥用职权、强取豪夺,人民有权利,也有义务推番羽它。

我们国家说是民主专政,但笔者认为这民主并不属实,说是人民评选人大代表,但笔者活过十几个年头,从没见过笔者这里的人大代表要我们评选的。虽然美|国那边怎么样笔者并不了解,但是宣言第三条都有这么说了,这民主程度可见不低。

再论论现在世界中的美|国,有几个标签就是世界霸主啊世界警察啊什么的,在国拟动画APH(黑塔利亚,也有与意大利的译名)中美|国的一句话“反对意见一律不接受”似乎也有点还原。

最后笔者表明自己观点,我认为美|国是自由,平等,民主的,至少做得比我们国家好。但并不代表我们国家就不好了,喜欢外国没有错,但请谨记自己的国家。笔者不是美分,笔者比起外国,还是更喜欢即使比其他国家差几倍的祖国。

篇19:美国独立宣言读后感

和所有善于鼓动人心的政客一样,托马斯·杰弗逊起草的这份宣言从言语上看就不是一份仅仅要让人们拿来读的文件,在那些充满傲气和战斗精神的字里行间,他分明的鼓动人们:拿起武器,然后为美好未来而战!如果先不管后来各种别有用心的人们为《独立宣言》加上的各种“划时代意义”,我们就不难发现,在费城签订的这份宣言就是要宣布北美洲十三块英属殖民地脱英独立而已。其他的“生存权,自由权和追求幸福的权利”都是为要独立而找来的冠冕堂皇的理由。我认为这个事实也是“不证自明”的。

独立,本身就是一件值得投入生命去努力的事,毕竟因为英国议会损害了他们的利益。从宣言中我们知道英国议会在北美洲的土地上实行了“在最野蛮时代都难以找到先例”独裁暴政,然而我们要怀疑,怀疑难道北美的殖民者遭受到的独裁暴政比他们施加在印第安人身上的独裁暴政,比他们施加在非洲人民身上的独裁暴政要更加难以忍受么?不会。他们只是不想让他们的英国弟兄把无理的管辖权拓展到他们那里。事实上,由于同种同宗的原因,英国议会不会对北美的殖民者进行等同于其他殖民地的掠夺。但是对深受启蒙思想影响,在英国过惯了自由生活的北美殖民者来说,哪怕是一点点的不公正都是他们无法忍受的。所以当英国议会对殖民地不断征税,却拒绝殖民地的代表进入议会时,他们反抗了。

这样的反抗当然是正义的,为日后千千万万的被殖民者追求生存和自由的斗争做出了表率。但是必须看清楚的是,他们宣言中的无限大义斗争远没有达到人类解放和民主共和的高度。当时几乎所有第一次读到独立宣言的人都会问到:“为什么在这一份卓越的关于人权平等的宣言中,唯独对奴隶贸易只字不提?”这是一个很尴尬的问题,美国的几个建国之父恐怕也会因此蒙羞。当时就有评论家批评他们各怀鬼胎,比如托马斯·杰弗逊在主张人权平等的同时暗地里却却还在进行奴隶贸易。或许人们大都不愿相信一个赞成奴隶制的人,怎么可能以如此的灼热的激情和雄辩的才华写出关于人权平等的宣言和民主共和国的承诺,所以又有一种说法是,杰弗逊在《独立宣言》的原本里谴责了奴隶制和奴隶买卖,但是在大陆会议审核的时候被删掉了。不论怎么样,有一个事实是明明白白的,那就是殖民者从未对人权平等和民主共和达成过一致意见,他们自然而然的把被统治者排除在他们的“自由”之外。

《独立宣言》真正的光荣首先在于它引导人民解决了独立这个主要的矛盾,美国人之后一直努力在填补宣言之所谓理想和美国现实之间令人心痛的鸿沟,经过林肯,马丁·路德金等人的牺牲才逐渐实现了真正自由和民主。
