The Chinese New Year has a great history. In our past, people lived in an agricultural society and worked all year long. They only took a break after the harvest and before the planting of seeds. This happens to coincide with the beginning of the lunar New Year.

The Chinese New Year is very similar to the Western one, rich in traditions, folklores and rituals. It has been said that it is a combination of the Western Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. This is hardly an exaggeration!

The origin of the Chinese New Year itself is centuries old - in fact, too old to actually be traced. It is popularly recognized as the Spring Festival and celebrations last 15 days.

Preparations tend to begin a month before the date of the Chinese New Year (similar to a Western Christmas). During this time people start buying presents, decoration materials, food and clothing. A huge clean-up gets underway days before the New Year, when Chinese houses are cleaned from top to bottom. This ritual is supposed to sweep away all traces of bad luck. “鹿乳奉亲”“卧冰求鲤”……从小我就是听着这一点一滴的故事长大的，它们在我的心中留下了难以磨灭的印象，给我的人生道路开启了一扇大门，为平凡的我留下了不平凡的正面影响。您经常给我讲这样的故事：“一代帝王汉文帝刘恒乃薄太后之子。后来，太后卧病在床三年不起，刘恒便每天亲自为母亲煎药、喂药。他几乎是昼夜照顾母亲，并祈祷若能救回母亲，他愿折寿三年。”

父亲便教育我说：“一代帝王尚且都能有如此作为，能够秉承中华民族的传统美德，拥有一颗感恩之心。对此我们都自愧不如，扪心自问一下，我们若是不拥有一颗感恩之心，整个世界将会变成什么样子呢?你要时时刻刻将这个故事铭记在心，也便以后能做一个懂得感恩的人!”

在后来的生活实践中，我才彻彻底底的明白了什么是感恩。我也懂得了感恩是一件多么美好的事情，他会告诉你很多事情，当你用一颗感恩之心去观察身边的每一个人时，才会渐渐发现生活的艰辛，那些人都为你的成长做出了贡献，去感恩他们是你的需要，同样也是你的责任。

搏击长空的鹰说：“我要感恩一望无际的蓝天与宽阔的平原，是他们造就了我如此坚硬的臂膀!”枝繁叶茂的大树说：“我要感恩那在最深的地方无私奉献的粗壮的根与那粗壮的枝干!”我说：“我要感恩世界上所有的人!”

My dream home is an old castle in France. There are at least thirty rooms in it. It has three floors.

There is a big sitting room and dining room on the ground floor. It must have a very large window on the ground floor. I can look out of the window.

There are six bedrooms on the first floor. Maybe my good friends can live in the rooms. There is a bathroom in each bedroom. I would like my friends to have a shower or a bath in my castle.

There is a special room on the second floor. I can put all my clothes in the room. The room must be next to my bedroom. There is a big bed in my own bedroom. It is two meters long, because I love to sleep. There is a bathroom in my bedroom.

海洋也开始咆哮，翻滚着的惊涛骇浪，无情地吞噬着大小船只。波浪自大海中央渐渐扩散开，数层楼高的海浪横冲直撞，笨拙地冲到了大陆沿岸，最终形成了海的愤怒——海啸。它恶狠狠地撞上了人们修筑在岸边的，引以为豪的高楼大厦。又是一片废墟，又有多少人，命丧黄泉!

天空是自然最为羸弱的使臣，他无法给予人类迎头痛击，但是他也为人们埋下了致命的陷阱!他不再蓝得诱人，他变得灰蒙蒙的，全无生机。这便是天空的杀手锏——霾，好似慢性毒药，每秒都在偷人的生命。无疑，天空是残忍的，他不光窃走性命，还让人们被病魔所折磨。因为他知道这一切都是人类自作自受，是罪有应得的!

最可怕的其实是冰川，她将自己洁白且未被玷污的身躯出卖给了恶魔撒旦，这一次撒旦居然信守了承诺，它将冰川坚硬的身躯化作了冰冷刺骨的海水，这是要“水漫金山”啊!

还有火山……

人们抱怨着自然的“不公”，殊不知自然正冷眼旁观，她打算亲手毁了自己最得意的杰作——人类。若人类走向灭亡，她只要有时间，就可以再孕育更加聪慧的生命。然而要知道，自然最不缺的就是时间。

不过，人类的智慧终于发挥了作用，已有人看破了这一切。机会果真未跑掉，还好人们有了补救的措施。大地、海洋、天空、冰川、火山...都放慢了摧毁人类文明的脚步。但是如果人类再一次犯下滔天大罪，灭亡就不远了。

我们都是自然的孩子，无论伤害了谁，自然母亲都会默默流泪的。

It is obvious to everybody that the only way to achieve ones goal is to work hard. Just as the old saying goes no mill, no meal. Have you ever seen a man who succeeds just by idling about? Of course, the answer is No. So we know if you want to gain something, you will have pains.

今天晚上，我去上菁华浩扬英语课时，徐老师让我们分成两组举行了一场对抗赛。首先她让我们给自己的队伍起一个好听的名字，于是在叽叽喳喳的叫嚷中我们选中了“雏鹰队”这个名字，而对手却选择了“猛虎队”来做他们的队名。

竞赛开始了，老师在我们两个队各挑了一个人，让他们到黑板前写单词，“斗”了几个回合后，我们组领先了两分，对方恼羞成怒，拼命想把比分给扳回来。可是在读单词环节中他们又输惨了，结果现在我们已经领先四分了。到最后一个抢答的环节了，老师说：“这个项目是考验你们的反应能力的，猛虎队还有扳回比分的机会，要加油呀！”猛虎队员们一个个跃跃欲试，摩拳擦掌，看起来要和我们拼一个你死我活，鱼死网破了。你看在比赛中他们都反应神速，你争我抢的回答问题，可我们的队员也不是好惹得，个个争的面红耳赤，最后徐老师统计比分，我们“雏鹰队”以26：17这样悬殊的差距赢得了比赛。徐老师说：“下次你们猛虎队要加油啊！”

下课了，我们的队员还嘲笑地说：“你们地上跑的还是不如我们天上飞的吧，哈哈哈！”

The New Year is coming and this term has finished. Now, I can enjoy a happy

winter holiday. In winter holiday, I don’t have to get up early every morning.

It’s the best thing for me. I often get up at nine o’clock in the morning. My

parents go to work so I stay at home alone. I will go out for breakfast. Noodle,

milk and egg are my favorites. Then I go back home to watch TV or meet my

friends. We always have many things to do. My parents would go home at noon so I

have lunch at home. In the afternoon, I will sleep and then do some homework. In
