According to the Chinese tradition，at the very beginning of a new year，

when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky， there should be thousands

of colorful lanterns hung out.

During the Lantern Festival， people will try to solve the puzzles on the

lanterns and eat yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball)。

In the Sui Dynasty in the sixth century， Emperor Yangdi invited envoys from

other countries to China to see the colorful lighted lanterns and enjoy the gala

performances.

By the beginning of the Tang Dynasty in the seventh century， the lantern

displays would last three days. The emperor also lifted the curfew， allowing the

people to enjoy the festive lanterns day and night.

In the Song Dynasty， the festival was celebrated for five days and the

activities began to spread to many of the big cities in China.

Today，3the displaying of lanterns is still a big event on the 15th day of

the first lunar month throughout China.

The fillings inside the dumplings or Yuansiao are either sweet or salty.

Sweet fillings are made of sugar，Walnuts，sesame，osmanthus flowers，rose petals，or

jujube paste etc. A single ingredient or any combination can be used as the

filling . The salty variety is filled with minced meat，vegetables etc.

Courage is very important. Everyone needs it. We will meet many

difficulties in our life and sometimes we will fail, but we can’t lose courage.

If we lose courage, we can’t do anything, because we don’t dare to do anything;

we are afraid of failure. This is my Chinese teacher me in the first class. I

agree with him. For example, we don’t have the courage to hands up to say our

answer, how can we know we are right or wrong. I will remember his word

forever,” never lose courage .”

My father used to be a heavy somker.He smoked more than 20 cigarets each

day;therefore,he was the polluter wherever he went.My mother and I tried to

persuade him to give it up.He gave it up many times but each time only for a few

days or only for a few hours.

Once he declared that he would stop smoking right away under the pressure

of my mother,and he threw his cigarets into the dustbin.The effect of his

declaration lasted only for two days.Then I found him smoking again when he

thought that he was alone and no one saw him.On the fifth day of his

declaration,he smoked openly.

Last winter he got pneumonia.When he was well again,the doctor ordered him

to give up smoking.To our delight,this time he really got rid of the habit.It

seems that the doctors order is more effective than mothers scolding,my

suggestion and his own declaration.

“清明时节雨纷纷，路上行人欲断魂"这个清明没有雨，它虽然喜欢在夜晚敲鼓大和。但依然阻挡不住我们踏青的脚步。

在4月1日早上6点的时候，众人聚集在大朱家高速路口。准备上车。去旅游的人不多，加上6个小孩子只有17人。这次旅游的主要目地的在婺源。到那儿，我们主要是领略一番三清山的秀与奇。再去三清山的第一天，我们大多数时间是窝在大巴车上的。到了晚上，我们才到了三清山脚下，找了一个合适的宾馆住下。

第二天一早，我们便去爬山。到了山下，一位阿姨买了票，我们拿着票 ，乘着索道慢慢向三清山上出发。一路上，我低着头，小心翼翼地往下望了望。一眼下去全市悬崖峭壁，到处都是奇形怪状的石头。在往前看，只见一座观音直直的矗立在山上，她严肃的望向远方，似乎对外面的世界充满了无尽的向往。到了山上人满为患。我们先向山顶出发”我听了这话，一边爬，一边望望山顶，看看之间还有多少距离。爬了一会儿，导游便示意让我们停下，指着大山上的一块石头说道这就是鲤鱼跳龙门。”说着便用旗子指了指那个反向。我顺着那个方向看，是有几分相似。

接下来，我们便要爬最陡峭的一线天。我看着那个阶梯。就像是比笔直在稍微的写一点。看到这，我的双腿不由自主地抖了起来。可为了走近路，必须要冒下险。我慢慢的走上去。只见接替越来越抖。我好几次都不得不用手去撑地。前面的洞口只够一个人进。看着这个情景让我的手心中出了许多冷汗。我看着前面的人渐渐与我拉开了距离，便吸了口气。让那听话的腿促使我完成了探险。到了山顶上，在山下的那些美景尽收眼底。我欣赏了一番，便下山了。其实下山要比上山难。我们绕了好几个圈还找不到尽头。

过了大约半个小时，我们顺利地坐上了索道。坐在缆车上，我回味着爬山期间的无限乐趣。

一说起清明节，什么“魂”啊、“雨”啊、“痛”啊、“伤”啊，一骨脑儿都涌了上来。这是为什么呢？

又是一年清明节，仿佛没有往日那种清明的气氛，除了天气差了一点外，还真是个出门踏青的好季节。

我们一行人去给去世七年的爷爷扫墓。七年前，肝癌凶狠地夺去了爷爷的生命，爷爷是在一个阳光明媚的午后西去的，走时我和妈妈正在冷水江的妈妈同学家玩。听到这个噩耗时，妈妈推掉了马上就要胡了的麻将，牵起正看动画片看得津津有味的我的手，就向车站奔去。

到了家时，奶奶和姑姑哭成了泪人，一贯不显露大喜大悲的爸爸眼里也汹涌着泪水，妈妈哭得最凶，是那种撕心裂肺的哭泣。爷爷的遗体已经冰冷，我还看见几个我不认识的男人把爷爷包在一块布里，送进棺材了。只见姑姑一把抓住那人的手，哭喊道：“别碰他，他只是睡着了……”我无论怎么也想不到平时爱我、疼我的爷爷就这么轻易地离我而去，狠心撇下他最疼爱的孙子，永远不回来了。

悲伤，顿时涌上了心头，哭得没有声音，只看见眼泪一滴滴重重地打在地板上。对于爷爷的死，我哭的就只有那一个下午，以后尽管常常想念，但却再也没悲伤过了。因为，我明白，爷爷的在天之灵是决不愿意看到我为了他的离去而悲伤这么久的。

那年我七岁。

眼看着七年过去了，今天，我又站在了爷爷的坟前。在春风里，原本填上的泥土上长出了一朵朵紫色的小花，摇曳着。风吹动树叶的声音过去了，仿佛又是七年前那个慈祥的老人对着子孙们和蔼的呼唤，脸上沧桑的痕迹里绽放出一缕缕阳光……风，撩乱了坟边青青小草，也撩乱了我的眼球，泪水滴在了紫色的小花上，我想这将是我最后一次为了爷爷的离去而伤心了，以后站在这里的将是一个自信、坚强而又快乐的我！是一个让爷爷骄傲的爷爷的孙子！

often drives my heart. I keep it away for eleven years . However, I am almost

classroom I often sit there and became sad. I think I have worked hard for two

years in the Siner School. But ,all of things arent change quickly. Where is my

seed and where is my gains, but it may be the time . Now, I have been in the

Senior three, and Ill face the case of going to university. Although the case

is so terrible , I have nothing to treat it. I often cry with the reason that

why I am always in trouble. but as the increcs of age , I know that cry is no

use , so I became studying. So, when I came into the Senior Three, I have been

felling myself to change mind to it is that studying is an important thing. If

you want to be good at it , you must finish the studying quickly and correctly

The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”。

Good listening can always show respect， promote understanding， and improve interpersonal relationship。

Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children， so they will understand them better， and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students， then they can meet their needs better， and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates， thus they will help and learn from each other， and a friendship is likely to be formed。

What I want to stress is that each of us should listen to others。 Show your respect and never stop others till they finish their talk; show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile; be open-minded to different opinions even though you don’t like them。 In a word， good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other。

When I went to middle school, it was hard for me to adjust the new

environment at first, because there were so many subjects to learn, I fell

behind other students. I did not know what to do, I just wanted to get away from

school. I talked about my annoyance to my friend, she told me that I got too

much pressure and she suggested me to take relax and made progress step by step.

She said everything would be better someday. Now I have made progress and when I

look back on the passed days, it was just a small problem for me. I got over the

在等了2个小时后，我们终于挤上了一辆大巴车，到了妙峰山陵园。找到了大大外公的墓地，我等着外婆把扫把拿出来扫墓，可左等右等也不见外婆把扫把拿出来，我忍不住问：“外婆，扫把呢?”外婆说：“没带呀，怎么了?”我生气地叫到：“没有扫把怎么扫墓啊!”外公外婆听了，都笑了起来。外婆把我拉到身边，对我说：“以前人死了都葬在山上，经过一年的时间，墓地上就会长出许多杂草，这需要去祭拜的人铲除杂草并打扫，所以叫扫墓。现在不一样了，人死了葬在陵园里，陵园的工作人员会把他们照看得很好，清明节来祭拜的人只要对逝者表达思念和感恩之情就好了。”

今年的清明节是个难忘的日子，因为我要去扫墓。

那天早晨，我按捺不住激动的心情，早早地起了床，在易校长的带领下出发了。一路上欢声笑语不断，同学们个个心潮澎湃。终于期待已久的故居——韶山出现在我们眼前，我们像快乐的小鸟一样下了车。

首先我们来到瞻仰主席的故居，里面收拾得井井有条，每样用品都是那么简陋，让人简直不敢相信。这样勤俭节约的主席怎能让人不爱戴呢?想想自己平时的铺张浪费，真让人觉得惭愧呀!

Since I go to middle school, I stay away from home and live in school from

Monday to Friday. The first time for me to leave home made me felt so lonely. I

did not have friends here and no one to count on. But I told myself that I

needed to try to be independent. So I solved all the problems by myself, I

washed my own clothes and cleaned the bed, which were done by my mother before.

I found that I could take care of myself without my parents’ help. What’s more,

I made good friends here, we had the same interest and we helped each other in

study. A year passed, I learned a lot and became independent.

Since I went to college, I feel so excited about the new chapter of my

life. I have imagined the campus life for so many years. Now I finally come to

this stage. I have much time after class, so I need to learn to deal with it.

After two years’ struggling, I find the right way to spend my time.

The first thing for every college student is to learn major knowledge. In

China, so many students think college time is used to play instead of study, so

they skip class. This is a big mistake. College is the stage for students to

master practical skills, which decides what kind of job they will work on. So I

study very hard from Monday to Friday. I don’t want to miss the important

knowledge.

The second thing for college students is to join the after-class

activities. Joining the activities can not only learn more skills, such as dance

and sports, but also can make friends. Campus is like a small society. Students

need to learn to make connections with other students, so that they can win more

chances. I learn a lot from my new friends and know how to communicate.

Facebook is the most popular social communicational software. People like

to share their information in it and keep in touch with their friends. The

founder of Facebook is a young handsome guy named Mark Zuckerberg. He was being

a dad recently and he announced that he would donate 99 percent of his share for

celebrating his girl’s coming.

99 percent of his share! That is such great amount. The public were so

astonished by his decision. This young guy could only take out the small part of

his share, but he took out nearly the all. His great grace could help a lot of

people to improve their lives, even change their fate.

There are a lot of rich people in the world, but only less people could

make the great decision like Mark Zuckerberg. When the media asked him why he

did this, he said he wanted to reture society and help the people who were in

need of. This money was not necessary for him, but could change a lot of poor

people’s fates and I wanted to help them.

There is no doubt that Mark’s generous indeed will help a lot of

people.

In the last several decades, our earth has been extremely polluted, such as

air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and so on. In recent years, the

extreme weather becomes more and more frequent. Winter gets colder and summer

becomes hotter and it rains more frequently. All of these warn us that

protecting the environment is a serious and emergent event. As our general

people, we should build proper lifestyle. We should pay attention to water and

light saving. When we go out, we should firstly choose the public

transportation. The most important is that we must realize that we can do a lot

of things to protect our environment. Its our duty to make our home better.
