The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually

an essential part of the Festival.

Lantern owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the

lanterns. If visitors have solutions to the riddles, they can pull the paper out

and go to the lantern owners to check their answer. If they are right, they will

get a little gift. The activity emerged during peoples enjoyment of lanterns in

the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As riddle guessing is interesting and full of

wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.

People will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also

called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

paste, jujube paste, walnut meat, dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling.

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

reunion. So people eat them to denote union, harmony and happiness for the

family.

In the daytime of the Festival, performances such as a dragon lantern

dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and

beating drums while dancing will be staged. On the night, except for magnificent

lanterns, fireworks form a beautiful scene. Most families spare some fireworks

from the Spring Festival and let them off in the Lantern Festival. Some local

governments will even organize a fireworks party. On the night when the first

full moon enters the New Year, people become really intoxicated by the imposing

fireworks and bright moon in the sky.

My happy Spring Festival After the New Year’s Eve dinner with my family, we began to sit down in front of the TV, and enjoyed 2015 CCTV Spring Festival gala. 上课时，我开始积极举手发言，迫切地希望在新环境中大显身手。有一次，一个同学回答了老师的问题。我发现有错误，可又不敢站出来纠正，心里非常踌躇。这时我想起了以前毫不犹豫站出来纠正同学的错误，现在为什么不行呢？我鼓起勇气站起来，大胆指出那一位同学的错误。老师赞赏地点了头，同学们用惊奇的目光看向我，被指出错误的同学也十分友好地对我笑了。我感到一种前所未有的愉快，那是一种在新环境中被人肯定、赞赏的快乐！

终于鼓起勇气，主动与我前面的同学打招呼：“你好！，我是魏翊耕，你呢？”他活泼开朗地笑着与我讲起来 ……

对于新学校，新班级和新同学，我渐渐熟悉起来。不知不觉中，我向多姿多彩的小学生活迈出了第一步。

在我第一次进入新环境中，我明白了：人只有不断地接触陌生的世界，不断适应新环境，走出熟悉的人群，才能获得更多，更好的朋友，认识更博大，更广阔的世界，这才是真正的进步.

母亲，你如一盏明灯，在我无路可去时为我照亮前进的路;你如夜空中那最耀眼的北极星，在我迷路时帮助找到回去的路;你如一棵高大的松树为我遮风挡雨，你如冬日里的一缕暖阳，一直温暖着我。

母亲，您还记得吗?那次我参加现场作文竞赛之前，我非常焦虑，而汗水也浸湿了我的头发，可你却在一旁用坚定的目光鼓励着我说：“相信自己一定可以成功，只要你的作文中多运用一些好词好句，字写得好看一点就好了，加油!”进了赛场，我自己心中一直默念着加油，相信自己可以的。结果我超常发挥了，过了一段时间，既令人紧张而期待的环节到了。当我知道自己得了二等奖时，心中开心得飞起，如果当初没有那……我想对您说：“有你，真好。”

在我紧张时，使我静下心来，做好自己的事你。在生活中对我体贴入微的也是你。你的爱如阳光温暖，你的爱如细雨滋润，你的爱如风儿般陪伴。

那时，我正身处家乡。当时我也不知道为什么，每次过年回老家总会出现莫名其妙的症状，总会长出那一颗颗红痘痘，很痒，跟过敏了一样。一次放松警惕的我，在夜里凌晨，我突然觉得不舒服，浑身发痒，而我爸也不在家，家里又没有药。只得你连夜把我送进医院的。耗费了好一会儿工夫，才安安稳稳地送我回家，一到家你就倒头就睡。我想真挚地对您说：“有你，真好。”

早晨起来，阳光透过窗帘，照在我的脸上，正如母亲那无微不至的关怀。想你不是英雄，却给了我幸福与快乐;你不是一位画家，但你却用画笔描绘了一个个美丽的瞬间。我心中不禁感叹道：“母亲，有你真好。”

When I go to school, teachers always tell me that we should make used of

Timeand study hard. I dont put it in my heart. But when I realize my

classmates are making big progress, I know I have wasted a lot of time to

improve myself. So from now on, I must study hard and learn as much knowledge as

possible.

New York is the first big city in America. It is the world’s commercial

center and there are many sites that attract people from all over the world to

take a visit. One of the famous sites is the Statue of Liberty. Everybody knows

this great site and it has become the symbol of New York.

The Statue of Liberty stands on an island of the New York City harbor. It

is the tallest building ever built. When people get there, they will see a woman

holding a torch of fire. In her feet, people can see the chains that are broken,

which means she gets away from the restrictions and chases for freedom. There is

a book on her right hand, which is the Declaration of Independence.

The complete name of this statue is Liberty Enlightening the World. It is

the present from French people to American people. The meaning of friendship and

freedom are shared by both countries. Today, the meaning of the Statue of

Liberty is shared by the world. People can feel the peace when they see this

image.
