it was one of the last days before christmas, and the as sistants in the large store had their hands full serving eager christmas shoppers.

at one counter an old lady was choosing gloves red ones for her daugher in law, light blue ones for her niece, pink ones for her grand daughter, green ones for her sister and by the time she had found what she wanted, the counter was covered with pairs of all colors and sizes.

when the salesgirl had finally written out the bill and was about to turn to the next customer with a tired voice. at last the chosen pair of gloves were wrapped up and paid for as well, and as the girl was about to turn to the next customer, the old lady handed her a little parcel and said, "these now, dear, these are for you and thank you for being so patient. i do hope you have a merry christmas !"

节日一大早，场部门口就放出了喜庆的维吾尔族歌曲，架起了锅台，开始准备“诺鲁孜节”的传统美食——丰盛粥。

群众们被热情的音乐吸引而来，二分场阿力木·牙生场长进行了一次充满热情的大宣讲并给大家带来了节日的祝福。在现场观众的欢呼声中，篮球场上巴州环保局和二分场的小伙子们展开了一场精彩的篮球对决。球赛之后，又进行了拔河比赛和掰手腕比赛，男同胞们个个力拔山河，女同胞们巾帼不让须眉!乡亲们在欢声笑语中，体会到运动的快乐。除了体育项目，乡亲们还进行了斗鸡和斗羊的表演，将现场的气氛推向一个又一个高潮高。欢快的音乐中，丰盛粥和抓饭熟了，现场的乡亲们都享受到了粥饭的香甜和美好的祝福。

Christmas Day is on December 25th. It was originated in the western

Nowadays, there are many kinds of activities for people entertaining in their leisure time, especially in holiday, such as climbing a mountain, having a picnic, holding a party and so on. However, these recreational activities have its advantages but also bring some harmful influences to people’s lives.

First, to some extent, these recreational activities enrich people’s lives. Those who take part in different activities will not be easy to feel lonely or boring in their leisure time and live wonderful lives instead. The original Santa Claus, St. Nicholas, was born in the ancient southeastern Turkish town of Lycia early in the fourth century. His generosity was legend, and he was particularly fond of children. We know this primarily through Roman accounts of his patronage of youth, which eventually led to his becoming the patron saint of children. During the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century, St. Nicholas was banished from most European countries. It was in America that Santa put on weight. The rosy-cheeked, roly-poly Santa is credited to the influential nineteenth-century cartoonist Thomas Nast. From 1863 until 1886, Nast created a series of Christmas drawings for Harpers Weekly. These drawings, executed over twenty years, exhibit a gradual evolution in Santa from the pudgy, diminutive, elf-like creature of Dr. Moores immortal poem to the bearded, potbellied, life-size bell ringer familiar on street corners across America today. Nasts cartoons also showed the world how Santa spent his entire year constructing toys, checking on childrens behavior, reading their requests for special gifts. His images were incorporated into the Santa lore.

Santa is known throughout the world in many different names, such as:

Christmas is amazing looking forward to day, especially kids. We held a Christmas party at school, many of my friends to come to the party. There is no doubt that human activity has an effect on the planet. We see the evidence of mankind’s endeavors all around us. While some of man’s accomplishments, such as the building of transportation systems and the consistent supply of potable water, have made Earth a better place for people to live, they have not come without cost. Overall, it seems that human activity harms the Earth more than it benefits it.

For example, the transportation systems that benefit mankind also create pollution and use up valuable energy resources. While we cannot do without transportation these days, we cannot ignore the fact that it has an adverse effect on the planet. Furthermore, those advances that benefit people do not benefit al the life on Earth. Deforestation endangers many animals, and mankind’s great thirst for water and other resources leads to the extinction of many plant forms. In addition, accomplishments such as the supply of potable water to a community are only response to problems that mankind created in the past. It was man that made the water unfit to drink in the first place. Finally, the damage that human activity causes will eventually have a negative effect on people. They will also suffer the effects of pollution and diminishing natural resources.

In conclusion, it seems apparent that man’s activity benefits primarily himself, not the Earth. Moreover, those benefits are only short-term advantages, and man will also suffer the negative effects of his activity in the future. The Earth does not have an inexhaustible supply of resources, so every effort should be made to conserve resources and limit the impact of human activity on the planet.
