The book is filled with ideas of how the world works, such as how pirates and robbers work, that are so innocent, they could only come from a child. It is a story filled with action, adventure, ingenious ideas, love, and schoolyard politics. The whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood.

The book is a little difficult to read at first. Personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. Other than referring to persons of African decent in derogatory terms (which Im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

您曾说过您“性本爱丘山”，您觉得您对田园山水之爱似“羁鸟恋旧林，池鱼思故渊”。您的正气让您看不惯这宦海之混沌，您认为归隐田园是您唯一的归宿。其实像您这样的人才不应当或不可以这样消极避世，社会中多多少少有些好的或坏的人和事，就像在再明亮的阳光照射下，都会有影子，都会有光亮照射不到的地方，我们不能被那些阴暗面影响，反而我们要影响那些阴暗面，做到“出污泥而不染”，这才是真君子。

我相信，如果您真的能豁然，您的才华一定能得以施展，您的努力一定会得到回报。您隐居之后虽然了无牵挂，但这对您自己、对国家都是一种损失，只有为国家、为人民尽力了，才真正算实现了自身的生命价值，才会死而无憾。您当时只是缺少一个合适的机遇，一旦机遇来临，您要相信“长风破浪会有时，直挂云帆济沧海！”

韩梅是我最好的朋友，我们从出生开始就彼此认识了。因为我们是双胞胎。她是我的姐姐。就像很多的双胞胎姐妹一样，我们长得几乎一模一样。最容易区分我们两个的方法是她在手臂上有一个伤疤。那都是我的错。在我们六岁的时候我们在楼梯旁边玩之后我们不小心把她推下楼梯。她受伤了，但是一点都没有怪我。这就是她的伤疤的来历。自从那时候起，我们的父母总是通过那个伤疤来区分我们。韩梅在学习上比我好。所以有时候我考试不及格被妈妈批评，她就会挡住那个标志冒充我去接受批评。我很感激她。所以有时候我也会冒充她去帮她参加钢琴课，因为她对钢琴一点都不感兴趣。玩这样的游戏真的是太有趣了。
