Traditions for this festival: as the name indicates, hanging and looking at lanterns is the main tradition.

Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are displayed on trees, or along river banks.

Parents often take their children to Lantern Fairs and sometimes lucky kids even get a mini toy lantern.

Another tradition is guessing lantern riddles. These are riddles that are hung on lanterns for people to shoot down and solve. The riddles are usually short, wise, and sometimes humorous.

The answer to a riddle can be a Chinese character, a famous persons name, a place name or a proverb. This tradition has become a popular game with serious staying power even as social development changes other traditions.

Other than that, the most important thing to do today is to eat sweet dumplings. In northern China, sweet dumplings made of glutinous rice flour are called “元宵” while in southern part they are called “汤圆”.

Typical sweet dumplings are filled with black sesame sauce, sweetened bean paste, or hawthorn. Making “元宵” today is like a game or an activity, so its seldom done without a reason and a group of friends or family present to help out.

Halloween means Hallows Evening.It is the evening before All Hallows Day (now called All SaintsDay) ,a Christian holiday,celebrated on the November 1st.

History traces Halloween back to the ancient religion of the Celtics.The Celts were the ancestors of the present-day Irish,Welsh and Scottish people.In the 5th century BC,in Celtic Ireland,summer officially ended on October 31st.On the November 1st,Celtic peoples celebrated the festival of Samhain,which marked the beginning of winter and the Celtic New Year.Celts thought the division between the natural world and the supernatural world became very thin and all time and space was abruptly suspended on October 31st,and then the spirits of the died would come back and move freely looking for living bodies to possess.

晚上，我很快就做完了作业，我在看《百科全书》，《百科全书》里正好讲到了未来的私人飞机。因为我很困，而且看得很投入，所以我不知不觉地进入了甜蜜的梦乡。

我设计的私人飞机采用金钢铁，这种金钢铁非常坚固，在发生事故时坠落到地上能产生一定的支撑，这样以防碰到发动机爆炸，导致乘客死亡。这种金钢铁还非常轻便，减少飞机的重量，容易起飞。这种机壳还可以冬暖夏凉、净化空气……

这架飞机最主要的是机翼部分，这种机翼类似F-14雄猫战斗机的机翼，能变动，提高飞机飞行的最佳时速。

而且这种飞机的驾驶室也是更加完美了，这种驾驶也是3人制，但它的驾驶非常简便。

飞机有一个功能就是可以在水上行驶，但它不是用大“脚”或大“肚皮”在水上浮起来，而是用轻便的真空底盘浮起来，飞机的流线型机身可以更好地划翔在水面上。

这种飞机的起落架也是更加好了，前面是两轮式起落架，后面是两组四轮式起落架，这样可以更好地支撑机身。

“咚、咚、咚”妈妈的敲门声让我发现原来是一场梦啊！但是我相信，只要好好学习，一定能有这样一天，我设计的未来的私人飞机飞上蓝天！

今年国庆节，妈妈带我还有姥姥和小姨一家去广西桂林，我们回程时坐的飞机，那是我第一次坐飞机。

为了多玩一天，妈妈特意选的晚上9点起飞的红眼航班。那天晚上8点我们就到了机场了，机场好大啊！侯机厅一排排的坐椅整齐画一。

我走到窗边，看到了许多架飞机，它们长得就象一只只大白鸽，有的排着整齐的队，有的慢慢的滑向登机口，还有的停在侯机坪装货物，我在想大白鸽的肚子有多大呢？大白鸽那么高，我们怎么样爬上去呢？这时候，我听到了广播里传出“飞往北京的乘客请注意了，TA1472号航班正在请旅客们登机”，我赶快跑到妈妈身边说：“妈妈，我们的航班要登机了”，妈妈领着我的小手走向登机口，哦，这下我明白了，原来登机口处有一个很高的云梯，把候机舱和飞机连在了一起了，这样我们便顺利的登上了飞机了。

我很想知道大白鸽肚子里长什么样，原来是一排排的坐椅。妈妈告诉我，最前面几有两排是特等舱，再往后走是一等舱和二等舱。不一会儿，大白鸽肚子里就装满了人，等我们大家都坐稳后，就听到乘务员用中英文讲解救生机的穿法，这时我看到飞机正缓缓的把门关上，收起了云梯，滑向跑道。

跑道很宽，大概有六条车道那么宽，路边还有五颜六色的指示灯，远远的看去像一条蛇爬在地上。然后大白鸽走向正式的跑道后开始加速，从慢速到中速然后“嗖”的一下就象一只大雄鹰一样，飞上了黑天，我顿时感到心紧紧的抽了一下，啊！原来大白鸽向我平时爬楼一样，先跑几步，然后上一个台阶，又跑几步，又上了一个更高的台阶，直到看不到地面，大白鸽飞的平稳了，我的心就慢慢的回到了肚子里，三个小时后，我看到飞机缓缓落地，结束了快乐的旅行。

啊！原来坐飞机这么好玩啊！

去上海，需要坐飞机，这天我我和妈妈早上6点就起来了，准备坐飞机去上海。

一切准备就绪后，我们就登机了，一个个相貌美丽的空姐向我们问好，我们入坐后，飞机就起飞了。

我坐在窗边，低头望窗外，随着飞机的升高，窗外的树，也在飞快的变小，从一开始的两三米高，到后来的西兰花菜大小，再到最后的针眼大小。

飞机马上飞过云层，我看到了长沙的一块块板图，高楼大厦，蚂蚁般的车辆，还有几乎看不见的人群，这是我从来都没有感受过的。

平时我要仰起头才能看见蓝天和白云，现在我几乎可以与白云平视了，我不再低头望下面的长沙了，我把头抬平，白云挡住了我的视线，犹如仙境里的雾一般，我抬头望，太阳发出一束束金色的耀眼的光照在云雾中，像极了仙境。

到了时候吃中饭的时间，我的肚子也咕咕作响了，空姐给了每人一个套餐，里面有用锡纸包着的汉堡包，有酸奶有面包，我早餐没吃多少，不一会儿就吃完了，味道好极了。

吃饱喝足后，我靠在妈妈的肩膀上，渐渐地睡着了。

等我醒来后，飞机已经登陆了，我们已经到达了上海，我和妈妈提着行李，向外面走去。
