My son Joey was born with club feet. The doctors assured us that with treatment he would be able to walk normally — but would never run very well. The first three years of his life were spent in surgery, casts and braces. By the time he was eight, you wouldnt know he had a problem when you saw him walk .

The children in our neighborhood ran around as most children do during play, and Joey would jump right in and run and play, too. We never told him that he probably wouldnt be able to run as well as the other children. So he didnt know.

In seventh grade he decided to go out for the cross—country team. Every day he trained with the team. He worked harder and ran more than any of the others — perhaps he sensed that the abilities that seemed to come naturally to so many others did not come naturally to him. Although the entire team runs, only the top seven runners have the potential to score points for the school. We didnt tell him he probably would never make the team, so he didnt know.

哦！下雾了？！前方的青翠欲滴的大山很害羞，不愿意出来，拿白白的雾来遮挡。大街、村庄、行人全被浓雾给笼罩起来了，整个小镇全是雾海。起初在路上还看不见人影，全是灰蒙蒙的，走近了才能看见人的轮廓。在大街上，汽车全提起了灯笼，一闪一闪的，缓缓地向前行驶，仿佛是走夜路的老爷爷。人们在雾海中行走，就像是八仙过海中的仙人一样，似乎置身于云端。大雾一会儿分散开来，一会儿聚拢在一起，一会儿升起，一会儿降落。到处都是乳白色，到处都是白茫茫的，宛如仙女在天上撒下一匹白布，又像是神话中的“水漫金山”。太阳在天上显得是那么弱小，颜色很淡很淡，只有一个黄色的盘子。

上午，浓雾渐渐淡了，变成了一层很薄很薄的纱，在空中飘来飘去，时而远，时而近；时而高，时而低。这层“纱”不久被葫芦娃手中的葫芦收进去了，荡然无存。秀丽的山，高大的树和世界万物又显出它们原有的面容。瞧，太阳睡醒了，正在天上对我们笑哩！

我下周要去北京。我将乘飞机去那里。我的父母和我去那里。我们打算去旅行，去看望我的姨妈。我想我们会幸福的。

转眼间，我们又迎来了一个新的学期。“在新的学期里，我一定要百尺竿头，更进一步！”我心里暗暗地想着。

“李俊鹏，一年之计在于春。”妈妈走进我的房间跟我说：“你上学期取得了不错的成绩，我们也兑现了诺言，让你实现了难忘的哈尔滨之旅，那么到了暑假，你是不是还想随小记者团远游呢？”

“那当然啦，必须的！”我不假思索地回答道。

“那我们是不是该定个新学期的计划，这样你更容易取得更大的进步。”妈妈盯着我说。我抬起头，然后学着诸葛亮一副老谋深算的样子跟妈妈说：“山人早有妙计！”逗得老妈哈哈大笑：“好，那你这个山人好好给老妈说说。”

“首先，在老师没有讲课之前，我就对课文好好预习一遍，把课文中重点、难点给画出来，然后，在上课时更加认真听讲，不做小动作，绝不跟同学交头接耳，直到把这些重点、难点弄懂为止。还有，我还要加强记笔记、整理笔记的能力。”我滔滔不绝。

“对啦，好记性不如烂笔头！一定要多动笔。那还有呢？”妈妈打断了我一下。

“还有，老师布置的作业，我抓紧在午托就完成它，而且我保证是一丝不苟地完成，这样，我就可以有更多的时间参加小记者团的活动啦。”

“对了，我还在小记者团报了一个作文班，我决定要好好学习，增强我的作文能力。”

“那怎么增强呢？”妈妈又打断我一下。“我上学期坚持每晚睡前看半小时书的习惯，还是得坚持的，还有，这个学期我打算看完书后，从书中找出喜欢的好词好句记出来，如果在写作文时，能把这些好词好句加上去的话，作文一定会变得更加生动哟！”

“还有吗？”妈妈笑眯眯地看着我问。

我挠着头说：“没有了，我想到的就这些。”

“不错不错，不过，还有一点最重要的。”

“最重要的，啥呀？”我瞪大眼睛看着妈妈问。

“身体呀，你忘了上次考试时感冒的事啦？”妈妈一把拉着我的手说。

对，身体是革命的本钱！这个学期，我要好好地锻练身体，让自已的身体更有活力。

这就是我的新学期计划。我是一个男子汉，我一定要说到做到。
