今年的《开学第一课》还邀请了多位经历过长征的老红军，他们平均年龄都超过百岁。在革命岁月，是他们用自己的双脚踏出了长征路，用自己的意志谱写了长征精神。

其中有一位叫秦华礼的通讯兵已经104岁高龄，在过去的长征岁月中他就是一位“红色听风者”。他们白天行军，晚上学习无线电，在当时艰苦的环境中还要继续前行与学习，每天晚上都是在滴滴答答的电报声度过。前半生学习通讯知识，后半生置身于通讯事业，把自己的一生都献给了祖国的通讯事业。

歌曲《映山红》的演唱环节掀起了全场第二个小高潮。大屏幕上首先出现了当年历经艰苦创造奇迹的老红军们的面孔。节目组请到了这群红军后人，和歌手平安一起唱响《映山红》，向先辈致敬。
