过年的前几天，街上的人们纷纷涌入商店购置年货，我家也不例外。我们小孩最喜欢过年了，因为过年有许多好吃的了，好玩的，有新衣服、新鞋子，还有压岁钱。

腊月二十七，妈妈就开始准备做好吃的菜肴了，那天晚上，我在妈妈的指导下，我还亲手包了几个饺子，包出的饺子形状像古代的元宝。听爸爸说，过年吃饺子寓意财运滚滚。

大年三十，家家户户都要贴春联。今年我家的春联是我爸爸写得。爸爸说：“春联就是古人把心中美好的祝愿或心愿写下来贴在门上，代代相传就形成了贴春联的习惯。”那天，我和爸爸合作贴得春联，我粘胶，爸爸贴，我帮他看方位，我们贴得可细心了。然后，我们一家三口来到爷爷家过年，这时爷爷也正在贴春联。一会儿，亲人们都回来团聚了，我高兴地一蹦三尺高。我看见爷爷点起两只红蜡烛，桌上摆了几个菜，又斟酒又夹菜，可板凳上一个人也没有，爷爷说是请老祖宗吃饭，然后到楼下烧纸钱，放鞭炮。开始吃年夜饭了，外面的爆竹噼噼啪啪声此起彼伏，这些都是祭祖放的鞭炮。年夜饭一结束，我们小孩子都收到了长辈们给我的压岁钱。听说，这个压岁钱是有来历的。传说，古时候有一种小妖，名字叫“祟”，每年的年三十夜里出来害小孩。人们怕祟来害孩子，就点亮灯火团坐不睡，称为“守祟”。有一家夫妻俩老年得子，视为心肝宝贝。到了年三十夜晚，他们怕“祟”来害孩子，就拿出八枚铜钱同孩子玩。孩子玩累了睡着了，他们就把八枚铜钱用红纸包着放在孩子的枕头下边，夫妻俩不敢合眼。半夜里一阵阴风吹开房门，吹灭了灯火，“祟”刚伸手去摸孩子的头，枕头边就迸发道道闪光，吓得“祟”逃跑了。第二天，夫妻俩把用红纸包八枚铜钱吓退“祟”的事告诉了大家，以后大家学着做，孩子就太平无事了。 因为“祟”与“岁”谐音，之后逐渐演变为“压岁钱”。

但那晚，我早早的睡了，直到被人们迎接新年的鞭炮声吵醒。

彝族服饰，各地不尽相同。凉山、黔西一带，男子通常穿黑色窄袖右斜襟上衣和多褶宽裤脚长裤，有的地区穿小裤脚长裤，并在头前部正中蓄小绺长发头帕，右方扎一钳形结。妇女较多地保留民族特点，通常头上缠包头，有围腰和腰带；一些地方的妇女有穿长裙的习惯。男女外出时身披擦尔瓦。首饰有耳坠、手镯、戒指、领排花等，多用金银及玉石做成。

彝族生活中的主要食物，大部分地区是玉米，次为荞麦、大米、土豆、小麦和燕麦等。肉食主要有牛肉、猪肉、羊肉、鸡肉等，喜欢切成大块大块(拳头大小)煮食，汉族称之为“砣砣肉”。大、小凉山及大部分彝族禁食狗肉，不食马肉及蛙蛇之类的肉。彝族喜食酸、辣，嗜酒，有以酒待客的礼节。酒为解决各类纠纷，结交朋友、婚丧嫁娶等各种场合中必不可少之物。

彝族的房屋结构有的地区和周围汉族相同，凉山彝族居民住房多用板顶、土墙；广西和云南东部彝区有形似“干栏”的住宅。

各地彝族盛行父系小家庭制，幼子往往和父母住在一起。妇女地位较低。遗产由诸子平分，绝业一般归近亲所有。彝族历史上盛行父子连名，此俗在凉山彝族居民中一直继续到建国前。一夫一妻是彝族婚姻的基本制度，娶媳需付较高的聘金，交错从表婚比较流行，夫死实行转房。建国前云南部分彝族地区还保持着公房制度，凉山彝族保持着严格的等级内婚。历史上彝族多实行火葬，建国前，凉山及云南沿金沙江一带居民仍行此葬俗。其他地区自明、清以来逐渐改为上葬。
