I get up at seven oclock in the morning every day. After I brush my teeth and wash face, I eat my breakfast. My mother makes the breakfast for me. Summer can be very hot in southern taibei where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations. Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. At first I was rather dismayed at the thought of this, but later I thought it was better this way because by working hard this summer I could count on endless happy summers to come. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.

It seems that people always have a desire to compare: am I prettier than others? Are we living in a better age? Or, as the question goes, is our life easier and more enjoyable than it was several decades ago? I would say no, as I have witnessed the struggle and paradox of our generation.

First of all, we are now living in an age of revolution with no previous human experience that could be referred to. Living in such a fast-changing world would not be easy and comfortable at all; with everything keeps changing, everyone has to move fast in order to catch up with the majority. However, people were much more stable and care-free when our grandparents were children; they did not have to learn a second language in order to get a better job, or read a lot in order to get informed. Yet in our age, these are supposed to be the responsibility of young people.

Another discomfort of our age is that we are experiencing interpersonal alienation. With the development of communication technology, people in fact become alienated with friends and relatives since they could be so easily accessed via phone or email. Too often we feel that few of our friends are true friends, without the traditional feeling of mutual affection which could only be created by longtime apart. But several decades ago, people treasured their friends and maintained relatively close interpersonal relations, which is much more enjoyable than the estrangements we are experiencing.

The last factor that has made our age so uncomfortable is the abusive use of technology. Although it brings much convenience, it essentially changes human – we are no longer the master of tools, but instead the slaves of devices. We rush to metro station in order to catch an early train, sit in front of radioactive computers all day long in order to get our work done, and stay in air-conditioned rooms all summer without experiencing the natural changes outside thick cement walls. Several decades ago, people could still live closer to nature and make rational use of modern technology, which to me is the essence of human living experience.

However, the comparison between different times is itself ridiculous. The criteria could not be easily determined, and opinions are highly personal. Anyway, we have a longer life span, more advanced medical facilities, and easier traffic than our grandparent when they were children, and we should treasure the present experience. Imagination of the past might only be nostalgia – if I ask my grandparents the same question, they might as well say that our life is much better than the past generations. Who knows? As long as the world is still peaceful, life at any time would not become too difficult to handle.

The large number of our population has become one of the most serious

problems of our society. According to a recent survey of the National Bureau of

Statistics, there are more than 1.3 billion people in our country, which account

for about 1/5 of all the people in the world. the same survey also predicts that

our population will grow quickly in the years to come.

Overpopulation has brought about a series of negative effects to our

economic development and social security. In the first place, too many people

impose a heavy burden on our environment. As a result, we suffer from a shortage

of fresh water and natural resources. In the second place, as the supply of

In short, my life in university is busy but valuable. Children show you their true emotions. They know what is compassion and

what is tolerance better than adults. In their world all real thoughts are

about making social communication net. Every child talks from the bottom of his

Each person can contribute their wisdom to the completion of the task. You cannot do it so well single—handedly. When we watchthe Olympic Games on TV， we are so amazed by the excellent performances of the players. If they want to win the gold medals，they must compete as one person and exercise their own part well for the whole success. So we can say the team spirit is the secret of success.

似乎这些都发生在昨天一样：当我们第一次走进初中的大门时候发出的赞叹和最后一次走出学校大门时与同学说的最后一声再见。在不知不觉间，时间迈着大步在我们身边一走就是四年。或许对于我们来说，中考意味着结束，但同时也意味着开始，需要我们好好地把握。

走进高二就需要我们迎接新的挑战，从陌生转变为熟悉也许需要一段时间来进行过渡，而当我们面对陌生的人群、陌生的环境时，我们的紧张、忧虑和恐惧是毫无意义的。相反，我们需要用积极乐观的眼光去看待它，积极地迎接它带给我们的挑战。人生短暂，要想充实，不同的阶段就应有着不同的目标。就像在四年前，我们的奋斗目标是中考，而如今，只不过换成了三年以后的高考而已。高考如战场，你准备好了吗?所以，我们应当积极地迎接新生活带给我们的挑战，并用乐观的心态来享受它带给我们的快乐。

走进高二，同样也需要我们不懈地努力。学海无涯，我们一直在不停地奋斗、努力，只为让自己的成绩与同学的成绩比起来变得好一点，更好一点。我们时刻都不应该放弃努力。以前是，现在也是，而以后更是。

在我们的学习生涯中，小升初也好，中考、高考也好，只要为此努力，并尽了自己最大的能力的话，我想应该没有人会为自己所应得的成绩而后悔。因为努力过，不放弃，所以不后悔。将来的三年，是未知的三年，同样也是充满着希望的三年，而三年后的我们将遇到人生中的一个转折点——高考。高考也许真的会决定一部分人的命运，但是，只要我们努力过，并曾经为此不懈的奋斗过，无论结果怎样，我们一定会坚定而自豪地说“我不后悔!”

走进高二，我们最需要的就是明确的目标和坚定的信念。如果说一个明确的目标在高二生活中可以使我们走得更快，那么，一个坚定的信念可让我们走的每一步都更加坚定、牢固，不会摔倒。将路一步步走实，并朝着固定的方向前进，我想，这就是在高考中取胜的秘诀吧!

走进高二，这将是一个新的开始，过去的成绩永远只会属于过去，并不代表着现在和未来。我坚信，只要努力就没有什么不可能。终有一天，我们会在高考的考场上傲视群雄!
