Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. At beginning of the book, I think Scarlet was a beautiful, lucky woman. So many young men were in love with her and they always stayed around her. But in fact ,Scarlet was not the lucky woman I thought . She was fell in love with Ashley Wilkes, but the man was not like the other boys around her. when then news came that Ashley would be married with Melanie ,she felt surprised and even couldn’t accept the fact. With the psychology of revenging Ashley, Scarlett married to Melanie’s brother before the day of Ashley’wedding.

Soon after the war broke out , many young man died ,including Scarlett’s husband. Scarlett became a widow. She couldn’t stand the boring life, so when Melanie invited her to the home of Charles’s aunt. Without more consideration ,Scarlett left for Atlanta.

One time hospital hold a party to collect contributions. Then at the party ,she met Rhett buther, the man who loves her at first sight. Although Scarlett didn’t show any good feeling to him, Rhett buther always companied her and made her happy. For several reasons, she married again,but Rhett still loved her. When her second husband died, he asked Scarlett married him. Because he believed that he understoodher and he can bring her happy. After several month ,they got married. Their life became better and happier. Later they had a litte daughter, Bonnie. Rhett loved his lovely daughter just like the way he loved Scarlett. But Scarlett still loved Ashley. Hopefully she wanted her parent’s help. But to her surprise, her mum had died and her father was out of normal. Situation have became more difficult. While Melanie was going to give birth to a baby. Scarlet made her mind on taking on the task. In order to keep living ,Scarlett even went to work on farm ,she planted cotton. Melanie was in poor health, but she still went to help Scarlett to do farm work. She believed Scalett and gave her unselfish love. With Menlanie’s love,Scarlett supported her home,but at this time ,she still didn’t realize how important Melanie for her. In order to solve the problem of the Tara plantation,she married to Frank. These three main characters in the book are all very obvious, but different. They gave me a impression. Scarlett was a plain girl, but what she did was not plain. She didn’t stay silent during the war, she changed her own life by strugling. Mid-autumn day Mid-autumn day is a special festival in China, which is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. Itfalls on the 15th day of august lunar month every year. Our Chinese will celebrate it on that day. I think there are not too many people can reject he temptation of it. I like this festival very much. I have two reasons.

First of all, mid-autumn has the deep meaning of reunite. In china, people regard mid-autumn day as very important, so no matter where they are, they will come back to their family if there is a chance. They don’t like celebrate this festival outside, which will make them feel lonely. Thus, they will go home by all means. Luckily, the government also pays great attention to this traditional festival. There are laws to make sure people have holidays in that special day. Secondly, every family will prepare a big meal in that day. All the food is delicious. It is good to have a big meal. I think nobody will not interest in delicious food. The mooncake is a necessary decoration for mid-autumn day. It tastes good, too. It is the traditional for a long time. How pleased to enjoy the glorious full moon with mooncake!

Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. the tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The Little Prince.

最近老师推荐了一本鲁迅的书，这本书叫《朝花夕拾》。提到这本书，我们就先来谈一谈鲁迅的生活和他所做的事情吧！

鲁迅出生于1881年，他是中国伟大的文学家、思想家和革命家。原名周树人，字豫才，浙江绍兴人。他在青年时代受进化论、尼采超人说和托尔斯泰博爱思想的影响很大。他也创作了不少小说，《呐喊》、《彷徨》等，散文集《朝花夕拾》，散文诗集《野草》，杂文集《热风》、《华盖集》、《坟》……

《朝花夕拾》，主要写了鲁迅童年的生活和青年时求学的历程，追忆那些难以忘怀的人和事，抒发了对往日亲友和师长的怀念之情。

看着看着，我不禁想起了我们现在的生活和鲁迅小时候的生活，相比而言，完全是截然不同的。他的生活是天天在外面玩，而我们却成天上课。他有时候也会去上学，有时候也会去地里玩儿，有时候会做一些很有趣的事，有时候会做一些很好玩的小游戏……这让我回想起我以前年幼的时候，天天在地里玩儿，天天在家门口玩儿，真是无忧无虑，好想回到以前的生活啊！

今天一大早，我就风风火火的赶到少年宫。这是为什么呢？因为我今天要参加英语剧表演。

接下来的节目是皇帝的新装、狼来了和拔萝卜，各班的表演都很精彩，让我觉得心里不踏实起来，怕自己表演不好。

终于轮到我们上场了，我的心怦怦直跳怕我们班会输给其他的班级。当音乐一响起来，我们每个人都很快进了状态。我那颗怦怦直跳的心也平静了下来。大家各自表演者自己的角色，十分认真。突然电脑出问题了，把我们出场的顺序都打乱了，弄得我们几个团团转转都不知道怎么去表演了。这是老师在后面打着手势让我们跟着幻灯片来表演，我们手忙脚乱的的样子把评委都逗笑了。最后我们的成绩只有76.365分。

虽然这次我们没有取得好的成绩，但是我们却收获了快乐。

小学英语作为近几年新增设的科目，在肩负英语启蒙和为以后进一步学习大基础的重任的同时，又面临着检验匮乏，教学对象年龄小，注意力，接受，分辨能力相对较低等重多困难。那么，怎么才能克服困难，有效良好地进行小学英语教学呢？我认为应在分析学生的年龄特征、心理、注意力等特征的前提下，精心设计组织教学。而其中，游戏的运用尤其重要。现行小学英语教材就充分认识到了这一点，在整册教学内容中，几乎在每课都穿插有游戏。

游戏在小学英语教学中有着多方面的重要的作用。

一、 激发兴趣，活跃气氛，吸引注意力

一节好课不是老师一味的讲，学生一味的听，而应是有静有动，动静相结合的，小学设管内的天性是好动的，要让他们端端正正的坐着听四十分钟，是很难办到的。即使做到了也收不到良好的教学效果。同时还可能压抑了他们的个性，影响了他们的学习兴趣，此外，心理研究表明，小学生的注意力稳定性较差。最好的也只能保持30分钟，况且长时的有意注意容易使人感到枯燥乏味，投入程度也不会高，如果在教学中结合教师的讲解，适当地安排一些游戏，为孩子们提供一个动的舞台，把他们的思维和身体从疲劳、紧张中解放出来，使他们涣散的注意被吸引过来，在轻松愉快的气氛中完成学习任务。例如，在学习人身体部位名称时，刚开始学生们觉得新鲜，兴趣很浓，热情还很高，但随着单词加多，听讲和读的时间加长，他们感到很疲乏，觉得没意思了，注意力也不能很好地集中了。这时，我适时地加入了“听口令，做动作”的游戏，一听说要做游戏，孩子们立刻变得活跃起来，注意力又集中了，在随后“touch your head” “stamp your feet” “wave your arm”的口令中，他们一会摸头，一会跺脚，一会挥胳膊，忙得不亦乐乎，最终在笑声中记住了个部位的名称。

二、 创设情景，加深记忆

一种语言习惯的习得，必须是在一定的语言背景和情景中完成，这些仅靠课文中提供的情景对话是远远不够的。那些对话是别人的，学生只是一个扮演者和朗读者，因为没有心灵的感受和理解，许多人不能很好地融入其中。游戏就弥补了之不足。它不仅为学生提供了情境，语境，还让学生们真正地成为“主人公”亲身经历资：料；来/源，于ＧＺＵ５２１学：习；网 http：//Ｇzｕ５２1。COm，这对他们的记忆又是一大帮助，如果为了记忆只是一味地重复练习，他们就只能是机械地记忆，而这种记忆是很难保持的，但如果将所学的内容安排在他们积极从事着的活动中去，成为活动的直接对象，这样，因为是他们亲自感受体验，直接参与了的，记忆效果受识记时的情绪状态的影响。情绪状态较佳时对记忆作用明显。这一研究结果提示我们，在教学时，应该重视情境，愉快地教学，这又如何做到呢？游戏便为我们提供了一条捷径。在教学中开展多种多样轻松幽默的游戏，使他们在笑声中学会英语。

三、 训练口语，发展思维

英语的学习不仅仅是记忆、理解、书写，还要能够说出来，能够正确流利地说出来。这是重点也难点。对于初学英语的人来说，更是难上加难。他们往往心理紧张，没有自信，不敢开口。更别说在课后生活中运用了。要攻破这个拦路虎，首先必须给学生一个没有压力的轻松环境，消除内心的紧张与害怕，同时，鼓励他们进行语言交流，在运用语言与其他人互相讲话时，学习的内容会丰富起来，游戏就恰恰能够做到这些。游戏给了学生接近生活，轻松愉快的环境，带给他们描述、表达、说明的欲望，在不知不觉中训练了口语，这些都比学生自己读教材重复教师的话有价值得多。

语言与思维之间存在密切的关系，游戏在联系课本词汇的同时，促使学生准确地表达思想感情，把他们所学的语言词汇合理地组织，适当地安排，准确地表达，这个过程，丰富了他们的词汇，丰富了他们的的感性经验，推动了思维的灵活性、逻辑性的发展。

此外，游戏给了学生想象和思考的空间，激发了他们的想象力和思考能力。如在教学“friendship”时，为了让他们深刻理解记忆这个单词的含义，我采用了画图的游戏，就是把这个单词的意思用画图表示出来。因为“friendship”的概念是抽象的，没有实物可以比拟，这样就不能照猫画虎了。只能凭借自己的脑子去思考去想象。有的学生想象了一个有关友谊的故事，画了一幅漫画，有的想到了恩格斯和马克思的友谊，画了两幅肖像；有的想到了一句古诗“桃花潭水深千尺，不及汪伦送我情”，并且惟妙惟肖地画了出来，以次来体现“friendship”的含义这样，学生们充分发挥了他们的想象和思考的能力，深刻地理解了单词的意义，思维能力也得到了进一步发展。

四、 培养情感，发展能力

在教学中，有趣的游戏活动，可以养成学生热爱生活，开朗乐观的生活态度，能够让学生有机会感受生活的多姿多彩，有机会展现自己的生命活力和丰富想象力，创造力，从而树立自信心和自豪感。在游戏活动中，学生与他人合作交流，使其体验到团结、友爱、互助、荣誉感、责任感，进取心等积极的情感。比如，在角色扮演的游戏中，使其学习表达各种社会角色的情感，在画画游戏中进一步发展了他们的美感，此外，游戏中还存在一个如何协调的问题，如何制定游戏规则和如何违反规则进行处罚的问题，学生们需要自主地讨论和解决这个问题。这个过程中他们的组织能力、协调能力等都得以锻炼，同时这队学生的独立性、正义感都有潜移默化的作用。

以上是游戏在小学英语教学中四方面的作用，除此之外，还有其他作用，这根据游戏形式、内容的不同而异，当然，并不是所有游戏都能起到了这些作用。这就要求我们在教学中精心选择、组织，恰当安排，以使其取得最佳效果。

I first read "Jane Eyre" in eighth grade and have read it every few years since.

It is one of my favorite novels, and so much more than a gothic romance to me, although thats how I probably would have defined it at age 13.

I have always been struck, haunted in a way, by the characters - Jane and Mr.

Rochester.

They take on new depth every time I meet them...and theirs is a love story for the ages.

Charlotte Brontes first published novel, and her most noted work, is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story.

Jane is plain, poor, alone and unprotected, but due to her fierce independence and strong will she grows and is able to defy societys expectations of her.

This is definitely feminist literature, published in 1847, way before the beginning of any feminist movement.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the novel has had such a wide following since it first came on the market.

It is also one of the first gothic romances published and defines the genre.

Jane Eyre, who is our narrator, was born into a poor family.

Her parents died when she was a small child and the little girl was sent to live with her Uncle and Aunt Reed at Gateshead.

Janes Uncle truly cared for her and showed his affection openly, but Mrs.

Reed seemed to hate the orphan, and neglected her while she pampered and spoiled her own children.

This unfair treatment emphasized Janes status as an unwanted outsider.

She was often punished harshly.

On one occasion her nasty cousin Jack picked a fight with her.

Looking into the mirror Jane sees a distorted image of herself.

Her passions still erupt unchecked.

Her isolation in the Red Room is a presentiment of her later isolation from almost every society and community.

This powerful, beautifully written scene never fails to move me.

Reed decided to send Jane away to the Lowood School, a poor institution run by Mr.

Brocklehurst, who believed that suffering made grand people.

All the children there were neglected, except to receive harsh punishment when any mistake was made.

At Lowood, Jane met Helen Burns, a young woman a little older than Jane, who guided her with vision, light and love for the rest of her life.

Helen later died from fever, in Janes arms.

Her illness and death could have been avoided if more attention had been paid to the youths.

Jane stayed at Lowood for ten years, eight as a student and two as a teacher.

Tired and depressed by her surroundings, Jane applied for the position of governess and found employment at Thornfield.

The mansion is owned by a gentleman named Edward Fairfax Rochester.

Her job there was to teach his ward, an adorable little French girl, Adele.

Over a long period the moody, inscrutable Rochester confides in Jane and she in him.

The two form an unlikely friendship and eventually fall in love.

Again, Janes need for love comes to the fore, as does her passionate nature.

She blooms.

A dark, gothic figure, Rochester also has a heart filled with the hope of true love and future happiness with Jane.

Ironically, he has brought all his misery, past and future, on himself.

She keeps to herself and is rarely seen.
