Originally called Qingyi Garden (Garden of Clear Ripples), it was know as one of the famous three hills and five gardens (Longevity Hill, Jade Spring Mountain, and Fragrant Hill; Garden of Clear Ripples, Garden of Everlasting Spring, Garden of Perfection and Brightness, Garden of Tranquility and Brightness, and Garden of Tranquility and Pleasure). Like most of the gardens of Beijing, it could not elude the rampages of the Anglo-French allied force and was destroyed by fire. In 1888, Empress Dowager Cixi embezzled navy funds to reconstruct it for her own benefit, changing its name to Summer Palace (Yiheyuan). She spent most of her later years there, dealing with state affairs and entertaining. In 1900, it suffered again, being ransacked by the Eight-Power Allied Force. After the success of the 1911 Revolution, it was opened to the public.

Composed mainly of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, The Summer Palace occupies an area of 294 hectares (726.5 acres), three quarters of which is water. Guided by nature, artists designed the gardens exquisitely so that visitors would see marvelous views and be amazed by perfect examples of refined craftwork using the finest materials.

Centered on the Tower of Buddhist Incense (Foxiangge) the Summer Palace consists of over 3,000 structures including pavilions, towers, bridges, and corridors. The Summer Palace can be divided into four parts: the court area, front-hill area, front-lake area, and rear-hill and back-lake area.

Front-Hill Area: this area is the most magnificent area in the Summer Palace with the most constructions. Its layout is quite distinctive because of the central axis from the yard of Kunming Lake to the hilltop, on which important buildings are positioned including Gate of Dispelling Clouds, Hall of Dispelling Clouds, Hall of Moral Glory, Tower of Buddhist Incense, the Hall of the Sea of Wisdom, etc.

Rear-Hill and Back-Lake Area: although the constructions are fewer here, it has a unique landscape, with dense green trees, and winding paths. Visitors can feel a rare tranquility, and elegance. This area includes scenic spots such as Kunming Lake and Back Lake , which presents a tranquil beauty, Garden of Harmonious Interest , built by imitating the layout of Southern China’s classical gardens, and Suzhou Market Street, endowed with a strong flavor of the water town Suzhou.

Court Area: this is where Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu met officials, conducted state affairs and rested. Entering the East Palace Gate, visitors may see the main palace buildings: the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity served as the office of the Emperor, the Hall of Jade Ripples where Guangxu lived, the Hall of Joyful Longevity, Cixis residence, the Garden of Virtue and Harmony where Cixi was entertained, Yiyun House , where once lived the Empress Longyu, and Long Gallery, which measures the longest in Chinese gardens.

Front Lake Area: covering a larger part of the Summer Palace, opens up the vista of the lake. A breeze fluttering, waves gleam and willows kiss the ripples of the vast water. In this comfortable area there are the Eastern Bank and Western Bank, Seventeen-Arch Bridge, Nanhu Island, the largest island in Summer Palace, Bronze Ox, an imposing statue beside the lake, and Marble Boat, built in western style with elaborate decorations . 暑假，我参加了由中国少年报组织的北京奥运采风夏令营。其中，使我印象最深的就是游故宫。

那天，我们三点钟就起了床。看完升国旗，采访完国旗班后，我们一行人就进了故宫。

北京市中心，也称“紫禁城”。这里曾居住过24个皇帝，是明清两代(公元1368～1911年)的皇宫，现辟为“故宫博物院”。故宫的整个建筑金碧辉煌，庄严绚丽，被誉为世界五大宫之一(北京故宫、法国凡尔赛宫、英国白金汉宫、美国白宫、俄罗斯克里姆林宫)，并被联合国科教文组织列为“世界文化遗产”。

一进太和门，一个大大的金殿映入眼中。那就是皇上上朝的太和殿。据说，太和殿内所有砖都是金砖,辉煌极了。我们手上的相机正准备按下快门时，导游告诉我们照不同的建筑物有不同意义，而照太和殿有不好的意义。看来，故宫还有许多神秘之处。

完太和殿，就来到中和殿。中和殿有一特色：就是它四个角上各有十二只脊兽。这十二只兽由小到大排列着，十分有趣。我们一看里面，哇!好漂亮。一把龙椅放在正中间，左右各一个大花瓶，真是庄严而辉煌。

和殿后，我们还去了保和殿.乾清宫.坤宁宫等多个景点，但是我最感兴趣的是御花园。御花园里的花五颜六色，那里的叶绿如碧水。那里的假山十分逼真，走进去里面，无论是山的形状，还是山上的装饰，都足以让人觉得自己处身于大山之中。

御花园，便从神武门出来了。游完故宫，我感觉到了中华民族的伟大，他们在科技这么落后的情况下把故宫修建得那么漂亮，我们一定要学习他们这种精神。

来到北京，发现有许许多多名胜古迹。首先，我们来到了故宫博物院。

故宫可真大啊!我走了半天，脚已经累得痛了。妈妈说在这里休息一会，于是我买了一份有关故宫博物院的书籍。我了解到许多知识，书上说：紫禁城现名故宫博物院，这座“宫殿之海”，占地72万平方米，建筑面积15万平方米，有各式宫殿890座，房屋9000多间……故宫原来这么大啊!真让我大开眼界。在故宫里，既有雄伟的大殿和开阔的广场，又有华丽的后宫，和深邃的幽径，及机密的议政处所，还有帝王后妃休息娱乐的御花园。真是不简单!这些房屋的装潢大都华丽、古朴，深感皇家的气派。御花园内，苍松翠柏，奇花异石，楼阁亭台，曲池水榭，如天然画卷，使人流连其中。

我们首先参观了皇帝上早朝的地方——太和殿。在太和殿正中间是九龙至尊的龙椅。里面的物品全部都是用金子做的，豪华极了。在修建太和殿时，没有用到一跟钉，一根矛。全部是用木头穿插搭起来的。你们看古人，厉害吧?

参观完太和殿后，我们去参观了皇帝的寝宫——乾清宫。

乾清宫建于1402年，是明、清两代皇帝的寝宫。据说皇帝与皇后成亲的那天，是在乾清宫就寝的。在乾清宫的右边，摆着一张喜床。在喜床的周围贴满了“喜”字。说不定我们摸摸这个 “喜”字，可以沾一沾皇帝的福气呢!

【篇三：参观故宫】

今天，7月23日，我和妈妈来到了北京的故宫。故宫是古代皇宫，古称“紫禁城”。

故宫占地面积72万平方米，走进午门依次是三大殿，这是皇帝上朝、理事、会客的地方，后面的二殿二宫一园是皇帝日常生活的地方，而分布在东西两侧的便是皇太后、皇后、嫔妃与宫女们居住的宫殿了。

令我印象最深的宫殿还是太和殿。太和殿是故宫中最大的一个建筑。它是皇帝每天上朝朝政的地方，殿中游龙椅、屏风，并立有六根金柱，每个布置都有意义。看到这里，我感到好像看到朝中文武百官向皇帝朝拜的情景。

“九龙壁”也是令我难忘的一处景点。之所以为九条龙，是因为古代以一、三、五、七、九位吉祥数。这九条龙形态各异，颜色各不相同，相同的是它们眼光炯炯有神，让人一看顿生敬畏之心。

除此之外，我们还一座座小宫殿，还有让我惊奇的钟表馆、珍宝馆……故宫在我心中在每个中国人心中都是一座珍宝馆。

去年暑假，爸爸和我去参观闻名世界的北京故宫。

我们到达故宫的后门，买好票，请了一个导游，就进了雄伟的故宫后门。首先展现在我眼前的是一棵大槐树。导游说：当年崇桢皇帝就是吊死在这棵树上的。我们随着导游继续走，到了坤宁宫，坤宁宫是皇妃住的地方，这里风景优美，有许多枝繁叶茂的树木。这些房子大约有三米高，皇后就住在靠南方向的屋子里。对面是嫔妃住的西六宫，那里的屋子很暗，也很小。穿过书斋，就到了乾清宫，这是皇上上早朝的地方，乾清宫的正前方摆着一张镀金做的精美的龙椅。龙椅上刻有许多龙，有的龙双龙戏珠，有的龙互相缠绕，真是维妙维肖。我抬头往上一看，墙上有一块大大的匾，匾上写着正大光明四个大字，每当上朝时，正大光明这块匾就面对着各位大臣，仿佛告诫这些大臣们：凡是做事，都要正大光明的做。我站在乾清宫中间，仿佛看到了当时的皇上和众位大臣商议朝政时的气势。随后，导游还带我们参观了中和殿、保和殿等地方，最后，就到达了故宫的正门。

假期里，妈妈带我去北京走了一遭。众所周知，北京在中国近代史上占据着很重要的位置，而其中最能反映中国近代的兴与衰的，还非故宫莫属。

故宫是个“宫”，就是皇帝老儿们办公和住的地方，正因如此，这里处处都显示着金碧辉煌。那金色的琉璃瓦，在阳光下闪着金光，好似龙的鳞片，很是吸引人。与金瓦对应的是一面面红墙，既不十分鲜艳夺目，也不黯淡无光，而是恰到好处地红着，可见工匠们的巧夺天工了。

接着，我们继续往前走。地上一块块砖码得整整齐齐。正在我们赞叹工匠们的心细时，导游让我们停下脚步，向上看。我往上一看，只见两个翘檐一前一后重叠在一起，后面的正好伸向前面角的最里端。这有什么稀奇?江南园林里到处都是。可它就是稀奇，因为它是“勾心斗角”。想想看，在勾心斗角十分严重的宫里，又有一处“勾心斗角”的景致，这难道不是一种巧合?

导游又发话了：前面是一个小殿，大家可以看一看。故宫实在太大了，我也走累了，赶紧停下来朝里张望。可里面的情景却令人失望：屋里光线很暗，隐约可看到桌椅板凳，屏风支架，笔墨纸砚等，已经非常陈旧，光线透不进去，屋子里黑糊糊的。

故宫是一座历史悠久的宫殿。故宫位于北京市的中心，旧称紫禁城。是明、清两代的皇宫，无与伦比的古代建筑杰作，世界现存最大、最完整的古建筑群。

故宫是我很想去的地方，哪里有很多珍贵的文物和丰富多彩的艺术建筑。是人们向往的地方。

在暑假的时候，我和妈妈、姑姑去了故宫，故宫可以从天安门进，也可以从神武门进。我们是从天安门进的。由天安门进入，穿过一片青砖铺地的广场，便到达紫禁城的正门——午门。穿过午门，又是一个大广场，广场上有一金水桥。过桥经太和门便是雄伟的太和殿。经太和殿、中和殿、保和殿，穿过乾清门，便进入内廷，内廷分中路、东路和西路三条路线。如果是半日游，这三条路线只能游一条，一般可走中路。走中路可看乾清宫、交泰殿、坤宁宫、嫔妃所住的地方和御花园。一般来说，用半天时间游故宫，比较吃力。所以我们用了一天的时间才游完。天晚了，我依依不舍的跟着妈妈向门口走去，临走时我还在大门口照了好多的照片呢!

不知为什么，时间过的那么快，车子就驶到了故宫博物观门口。我带着紧张而又兴奋的心情步入了大门。

故宫内最吸引人的要算“三大殿”，保和殿，太和殿，中和殿。我们先来到保和殿，我挤进人群，透过玻璃我看到那些皇帝的日用品早已没有往日的辉煌，那些陈旧的一切都仿佛在述说一个个真实古老的故事。向前走，一个很不起眼的小宫殿，没错，那就是“中和殿”，皇帝上朝时更衣的地方。接着又来到了“太和殿”，这里便是皇帝上朝的地方，它建在高八米的汉白玉台基上，屋顶上雕刻着12只珍禽异兽，大殿内一把象征了至高无上的龙椅，端端正正的摆在中间，形象的表现了皇帝天下独尊的磅礴气势。

故宫里除了各种用途的宫殿，连地上的砖块也有一些秘密，听说地上的砖块雕刻着999种人物和植物，还有不少的历史故事呢。

快乐的时间总是短崭的，当我依依不舍的离开故宫时，我想故宫是古代劳动人民智慧的结晶，我们一定要好好爱护，我们更要好好学习用我们的智慧给我们的后人带来财富。

【篇九：参观故宫】

今天，我们学校组织去故宫玩。

我们走进大门，“哇，这里可真大啊!”我们首先参观了故宫的建筑结构。观察了一下，故宫的所有宫殿，发现这些宫殿都是沿着南北中轴线排列，并向两旁展开，南北取直，左右对称。这条中轴线不仅贯穿在紫禁城内，而且南达永定门，北到鼓楼几乎贯穿了整个市区，它的气势宏伟，规划严整，极为壮观。

我们从太和殿一直浏览到御花园，真是叹为观止!在宫里，最引人注目的要算是“三大殿”了：太和殿，中和殿，保和殿。它们都建在汉白玉砌成的8米高的台基上，远远望去，犹如神话中的琼楼玉宇。第一座太和殿是皇帝举行大典的地方，人们称它为“金銮殿”。中和殿是皇帝去太和殿举行大典时休息的地方;保和殿是每年除夕皇帝赐宴的场所。这仅仅是故宫的建筑，而故宫中的宝物数不胜数……

故宫一游使我流连忘返，故宫的建筑真是个奇迹!

Ofo has been favored by the public, even the foreign people speak highly of

it. These yellow bikes can be found everywhere, so the people who are in a hurry

can use it and then reached the destination in time. Especially for the

visitors, they can ride these bikes and then have a look at the scenery around.

It can saves them a lot of money and the most important thing is the convenience

it brings. These bikes can be placed any place, even the walking areas. I like

ofo so much. It makes me feel green, because it won’t produce bad air to pollute

the environment.

Nowadays, more and more middle-aged people are suffering from insomnia, as

life for the middle-aged is stressful indeed. For one thing, as they are the

backbones of their companies, they have plenty of things to do at work. And they

usually have to work overtime. For another, they have to take great

responsibilities at home, for their aged parents need to be supported and their

little children need to be brought up. Thats why they dont have enough time to

have a good rest.

To sleep well, some of them often take sleeping pills. I dont think its

good for them to do so, because the sleeping pills can only get rid of the sign

of insomnia, not the cause. And taking too much sleeping pills is bad for their

health.

Therefore, I suggest those middle-aged people should know how to relax

themselves and rest their brains. Taking a simple work after supper will be

beneficial for them. Besides, they can have a glass of milk before going to bed,

which can be helpful for their sleep.

how time flies! i’m very glad to hear from you again. you want to know what is going on in schools in china? in a word, everything has changed. every school takes part in the campaign of reducing learning load. in the past, i used to study until 11:30 on weekends. but now i can arrange things on my own, such as reading books, visiting museums, or taking computer lessons in my weekend days. in the evening i can watch news on tv or read newspapers. what’s more, my parents support me. they said although i was a student, i didn’t have to work all day long. i think the idea of reducing learning load is well accepted by everyone.

In recent years, the forests have been getting smaller and smaller for more

and more people cut down trees for money. As trees grow naturally, people dont

need to invest anything on them. But cutting down trees has destroyed our

nature. We have already seen the bad consequence. For example, we always suffer

from the flood and drought disaster; many animals are facing the danger of dying

out, because their habitats have been destroyed; deserts are expanding, and

sandstorms are emerging. Our environment has been changed from bad to worse due

to the reduction of forests. Thus, the government should appeal people that

cutting down trees breaks the balance of our nature. Those who continue to cut

down trees should be punished severely.

Today, with the development of Internet, many traditional ways of life have

been changed, especially the way to pay for purchase. The record of credit

occupies important role for everybody, and they need good credit to get loan, so

as to start their business or buy a house. We have come to the age of

credit.

There is a very classic example about the importance of credit. A Chinese

man took the train in Europe. He found no one checked the ticket, so he just

skipped the ticket. He thought he had saved the little money, but when he came

to the bank and wanted to get the loan, he got rejected, because his record of

credit showed he had skipped the ticket, which made him the unreliable man.

The record of credit is the main basis when people asked for loan. The

banks consider the account of money they would borrow according to the credit,

or the departments will check a person’s credit to see if they want to hire him.

The age of credit asks for us to behave ourselves well, or we will live the

tough life.

Time spent at a university is a most worthwhile period in a young persons

life. This is a time when a student begins to form his or her ideas about life

in general. Attending classes and studying in the library keep a student busy

and provide him or her with access to valuable information， adding to his or her

knowledge base.

Campus life can also be rich and colorful. Most universities offer a

variety of extracurricular activities such as sports events， contests， and other

social gatherings， enabling the students to experience relief from study and

homework. Students often form lifelong friendships through the varied

experiences of university life.

During the time a student spends at university， he not only develops his

intellectual abilites，he also develops social skills as well as knowledge and

wisdom necessary for choosing a future career. By learning how to balance

intense study and recreation， a student will be well prepared for the challenges

of future responsibilities.

When you come, we can enjoy traditional Chinese food together, and then put up Spring Festival couplets. As a traditional custom, the couplets are always posted on the door of a house. Written on red paper, a couplet is composed of two lines of poetry, which rhyme with each other. Tennis match is very popular in the western country, every year, there are

start to show on the world stage, they have won so much honor. Li Na is the

first Asian player to win the grand slam, her great success inspires so many

Chinese players to work on the tennis career.

Tennis is the world’s third game, football and basketball rank first and

second. The globalization of the tennis will make more and more people fall in

love with tennis.

I always care so much about the food I eat, because my stomach is a little

week, so I can’t eat the junk food all the time. The healthy food makes me keep

fit so I eat it. Vegetable is very important, we should eat it every meal. The

fruit contains a lot of vitamins, it is in need. The fish is best for me.
